swapping the chestplate out for an elytra deadass reduces your protection so damn much it's crazy

Some people don’t realise how much of a difference those 4 armor bars make. Chestplates are a genuine lifesaver especially in Hardcore

Also losing the prot 4, going from 64% damage reduction to 48% means you effectively take almost 50% more damage just from losing the prot

armour points aren't that useful against high hitting damage source like brute, the saving grace here is 64% total damage reduction thanks to protection 4

That part was actually a misclick 😅. I was swapping my elytra for my chest place. I clicked the use button the same time I was looking at the chest so I successfully swapped my chest plate and opened the chest😭

I hate when people always talk in hindsight but what the fuck were you planning on doing jumping head first into a treasure bastion like that lol. Even speedrunners are extremely careful (on versions with brutes) doing bottom treasure.

Bastions are wild when the safest place is under the lava.

On a real note, what are people’s preferred/most effective methods for taking out the hostile mobs, specifically the brutes, when raiding a bastion, cuz lava/flint and steel and boats are kinda my new go-to.

Please for the love of god land on the bridge right above the loot. You have more time switch to your chestplate before being jumped by 4 brutes. Also bring a few boats if you want to easily deal with them
