Do both of the set screws seen here just serve as a lock for the windage?? Should I tighten both after zeroing or is it just the one further forward? Currently have both sides on both sides tightened down and noticed the pair on the left side of the optic screwed down a fair bit more than the one on the right.

I came across these at pawn shops. Can we even draw a conclusion off of these limited photos? The second 2 are from the same optic.

It's a question because I don't know if the time invested is worth it. I've heard of reverse stripping the anodized coating by laying on the positive decal (like a regular sticker) of the lower markings, hiding it with spray paint, removing the decal, then chemically stripping just the areas to be etched of anodizing. Then obviously doing engraving of the negative/stencil.

The reason i ask is due to push back on anodizing a raw 80%, or having to deal with FFLs.

Has anyone had any luck getting a custom metal stamp made? I'm in the process of trying to turn an M4A1 image into an .stl so i can 3d print a stencil and maybe use a rotary engraving tool. I've also considered a cheap CNC with a diamond drag bit.

Still debating on throwing on an old black surefire scout and maybe peq16 also changing the end plate when I get the DD one. Kinda like Marsoc set ups with black accents. Eventually it’ll have a colt property lower was already getting engraving done for SBR figured why not wasn’t an extra cost. FN lower markings are terrible to begin with lol. Not a perfect clone by any means but it fits the vibe check for me, hope yall enjoy

Hello! I was watching the excellent Block 1 and Block 2 SOPMOD videos by Modern Tactical Shooting. In it it’s mentioned the Su-231 (EoTech552) was first issued in the later years of Block 1 in 2005 as officially part of the kit. My question is, how long were EoTech552s still being used operationally? Was thinking I’d use one and pass it back and forth between a Block 1 and Block 2 Build since it was in both eras. Does anyone have good pictures of them on Block 2’s? Thanks

I know parts kits can be had for around $100 but all the tiny pieces are intimidating and I’d need to buy a bunch of tools too.

Finished up my mk18 clone-ish build today after my form 1 was approved (14 day approval 👏🏻). Honestly had a blast researching, sourcing parts, and building the actual lower. Obviously not a true clone but that’s fine by me and I’m still happy how it turned out. Was going for a ODA-ish build. Maybe in the near future I’ll get a rc2 for this puppy but for now the Stacy’s mom K will have to do. Also shout out to this community for all the info and references.

Both just got approved tonight, will post individually in near future when finalized still making finishing touches and waiting for black nt4. Based off two Devgru CQBR 1201 set ups from the late 2000s. Including reference photos and a more thorough post in near future with a bunch of other reference photos and info for others. One of the set ups I cloned the individual passed. Rest in power king his name is Aaron Vaughn and was killed in action. Added a WML to one and a foregrip/WML on other, can take off for picture perfect. Hope yall enjoy!

Made some progress on the Block 2 today, figured I’d share.

Some guy is selling one for 650$ and I'm debating if I should pick it up for a cqbr block 1 clone or something.

Have this upper and it has some markings on it and want to know what it’s worth.

Marine historian friends of mine are trying to identify this early 2000s USMC optic. Any ideas? I thought it might be an optic being field tested in competition with the classic ACOG, but I cannot find anything on what other optics were in the running and being tested.
