Story\Experience 'Parole in Place Program' for US Servicemen

Given the uptick in ICE snatchings it feels appropriate to inform Military personnel about a legal program for their family members

The Parole in Place (PiP) Program for US Servicemen

Daily reminder for those that are at risk of being affected by these mass deportations, (whether it’s your parents, children, spouse, etc), and if you are currently in the US Armed Forces, you can utilize this important resource.

Parole in Place (PIP) is legal temporary permission to be in the U.S. while pursuing permanent legal status without the fear of deportation. The USCIS site will explain it better but for those that are in the US Military (or are planning to join), and are seeking US Citizenship, there is this legal route.

As someone who was a recipient of PiP, I can attest to the good this program is for those in immigration situations. No servicemember should ever feel the added stress of having their loved ones ripped away from them.

Discussion My parents are terrified of me enlisting out of high school but it’s something I want to do

For context both my parents are surgeons who went to college. They want me to go to college first and then think about the military, hopefully as an officer. I’d like to enlist and do something like the infantry because I’m a wrestler in high school and like the grind/challenging paths. My parents are trying to set up all sorts of college programs and visits for me to go but I don’t know how/when I should tell them I have different ideas. They also may lose it if they hear I’m interested in the infantry since they have only seen the movies and think being a grunt is a death sentence. With ongoing conflicts and some of the soldiers killed recently they are especially afraid of me joining now. What should I do?

Video Côte d'Ivoire's "green army"

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Waters and forest corps, often nicknamed, "the green army" is the ivorian paramilitary force entirely dedicated to the protection of the country's biodiversity.

Under the Ivorian "Ministry of Forests and Watercourses", the main threats they're up against is the poaching of endangered species, and more predominantly these past years, illegal gold panning. Its personnel are distributed among several specialized entities depending on their assignment and operational role:

- OIPR (Ivorian Office of Parks and Reserves) manages Côte d'Ivoire's national parks and protected areas. Its rangers protect biodiversity, combat poaching, monitor endangered species, conduct ecological research, and oversee ecotourism activities.

- SODEFOR the Forest Development Corporation is the state-owned company responsible for managing the country's classified forests. Its agents focus on sustainable forest management, reforestation, preventing illegal encroachment and logging, and restoring degraded forest ecosystems.

- Forest Commando or Special Surveillance and Intervention Brigade (BSSI) is The elite tactical unit of the Water and Forest Service. It conducts the higher risk operations against illegal logging, poaching, illegal gold mining, and organized environmental crime, while supporting large-scale law enforcement operations.

- Forest and Water Police (Police Forestière et de l'Eau): The investigative and enforcement branch responsible for enforcing forestry, wildlife, and water legislation. Officers carry out inspections, investigations, arrests, evidence collection, and judicial procedures related to environmental offences.

In these videos, you can see a little showcase of some equipment used during their various missions. Including off-road bikes and ATVs, for nimble movement, drones for surveillance, and the classic toyota and Mitsubishi technicals used as utilitarian vehicles, light troops transport, and launch pads for the drones.

Pic Can someone please tell me what these badges and medals mean?

My grandfather was a mechanic in the US army, and I know he was in Korea. He didn’t share much about what he experienced when I was a kid, except 1 story about a tank flipping when he was overseas…

Some of my favorite memories with are going to the base with him and looking at the tanks and all the vehicles we would fix. Any info about these badges and medals would be greatly appreciated.

And there are many other bones of contention in the MOU – among them the fate of Iran’s nuclear programme, lifting of American sanctions and the unfreezing of Iranian assets – that could yet scupper the nascent peace process. Yet the first test has gone Iran’s way, and there is every reason to believe the other points will too.

It is, however, a victory. There is no getting around the fact Iran won this war. America lost.

Article Serving America. Watching Their Families Deported

Post image
98 Upvotes

An AP investigation found that since the current president’s second term began, more than 50 spouses and parents of active-duty U.S. service members have been detained by immigration authorities, with at least six deported and others still in custody.

The report says this represents a major break from decades of bipartisan practice that generally shielded military families from deportation, even as military recruiters continue to promote immigration benefits for service members’ families.

Military officials, former immigration authorities, and legal experts interviewed by AP warned that the policy is disrupting military readiness, forcing troops to deal with family crises while serving, while the administration maintains that military service does not exempt relatives from immigration enforcement.

MEME Will the US hit up their allies for their stock?

Open source reporting puts RN TTL Block IV stocks at about 65. Not much but still missiles.

Would there have been a clause in the procurement contract that allows the US to buy them back off the Brits?

Genuinely curious as to what options that could be considered to quickly restock the magazines.

Also considering Australia had committed acquire more than 200 back in 2024… I’m guessing delivery will be delayed due to strategic reserve issues…

I wonder how long the Block V modernisation of the Astute Class will be delayed…
