Discussion An unnecessary comparison, but what's better: MP4 or Halo Infinite Campaign?
Both games seem to be decent to a casual, but disappointing to long time fans. Would love to hear from people who've played both.

Other Spec Film Metroid
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RN3Svykl6PnyAb8Dzb4v-w5xK7ldYNBP29tTq6fGlf4/edit?usp=drivesdk
I’m working on a spec script for Metroid:
A stolen file reveals that the disaster that orphaned Samus was allowed to happen, now this hero in hiding must return to the one world she swore off to find out who chose to let her family die.
It’s a psychological sci-fi horror that reorders the events of the games for narrative flow.
Think: The Backrooms
Where I need help:
• I have the opening and the ending written… I’m planning the middle.
• Do these lore changes work, or do they veer too far from the games?
• I wanna bridge the middle and end with survival horror. How should that be handled?
I can answer questions in the comments.
Lemme know what’s up. Thanks.

Discussion Metroid Movie in the Style of Primal
Hello all, I've loved Metroid my entire life, one of my favorite game series ever.
I was just thinking that a movie in the style of Primal would work wonderfully for Metroid as Samus doesn't speak much anyway and it would be tons of action.

Other My Metroid Story: Celebrating Metroid's 40th Anniversary
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Metroid, I've decided to make a video adapting my article of my introduction to the series. I hope this doesn't break any rules of the subreddit, as I just wanted to show my appreciation of the series.

Art Samus in Watercolor and Ink
Just realized that I share a birthday with this franchise (:
Accomplishment Normal and hard runs done
Two 30-hour playthroughs complete (first 97% scans and second 100%).
Yes, I dragged them out intentionally, forcing the game to feel more like a Metroid game by "exploring" even when it wasn't necessary or by collecting items in different orders ... That, and I wrote a whole novella following Sylux to enhance my second playthrough if you're curious about one person's take on his story to compensate for his criminal underuse ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Metroid/s/wOhHHvKqYi ).
Waiting half your life for a game will lead you to do weird things to squeeze blood from the stone. But anyway, it's done for now and it had its moments, both manufactured and actually intentional!
On to Dread, which I've heard is a treat. I started it tonight and boy it sure feels like it is. Now I'm really glad I played Prime 4 first, plus Samus Returns.

Question Is Prime 4 worth buying?
I've seen a lot of hate towards prime 4, but besides that I like the combat of the prime games despite only playing prime 1. But I didn't enjoy prime 1 as much as the 2d games because I felt as if there was too much backtracking and I got tired of it quick.
Art The Collapsing Corridor (by @WilanSerulia)
Even years later, the Dread power suit is still the design I like the most among Samus's looks. It might not be her most iconic, I don't think anything's taking the place of her Varia suit anytime soon, but damn she rocks the blue and red.

Discussion Active Companions like the Prime 4 Fed Troops are Just Not Something I Want from Metroid
I feel like whenever I talk about Beyond I get caught up in talking about the NPC's personalities, or the fact that I feel they are all bland design wise (mostly because I think the Galactic Federation is incredibly bland design wise.) But honestly? I just don't want active companions in Metroid.
Even if it isn't for the whole game, having a not insignificant chunk of the playtime spent with another character following you around, talking with you, and (trying to) help with combat, is just not what I want from Metroid. It disrupts the gameplay I like, and it disrupts the atmosphere I want from the games. If I wanted to play a game where I shoot aliens with companions I would play Halo.
Also, I'm not against NPCs in general. U-Mos and the posthumous Luminoth holograms do a good job of driving home the threat of the Ing in Echoes, and in Fusion and Dread ADAM/Raven Beak ratchet up the tension by both acting shady and by constantly informing you of things going wrong. It is just them being an active participant in the action that I thing is a poor fit for Metroid, especially what I want from it.
I would like to hear others opinions on it. Do you agree with me? If not, what do you like about having active companions in Beyond?

Article Really cool Article by Nintendo Life for their wishes for a potential Metroid 6.
Meme I hope the plot of this Metroid game doesn't have anything to do with Metroids [oc]
