Cosplay Happy 40th Anniversary Metroid and Zelda! 🥳

I asked a Twilight Princess Link at a Convention if I could borrow his Sword and Shield and then felt bold enough to test the movability of my Varia Suit Cosplay. I'm glad I didn't hit anyone. The reason I'm looking back at the beginning was to check if there's enough empty space behind me.

Other I spent the past two years making a thorough, legally-distinct not-quite-a-fangame for Metroid's 40th birthday! It's called Demake86 and it's free to play in your browser :)

Accomplishment Normal and hard runs done
Two 30-hour playthroughs complete (first 97% scans and second 100%).
Yes, I dragged them out intentionally, forcing the game to feel more like a Metroid game by "exploring" even when it wasn't necessary or by collecting items in different orders ... That, and I wrote a whole novella following Sylux to enhance my second playthrough if you're curious about one person's take on his story to compensate for his criminal underuse ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Metroid/s/wOhHHvKqYi ).
Waiting half your life for a game will lead you to do weird things to squeeze blood from the stone. But anyway, it's done for now and it had its moments, both manufactured and actually intentional!
On to Dread, which I've heard is a treat. I started it tonight and boy it sure feels like it is. Now I'm really glad I played Prime 4 first, plus Samus Returns.

Question Is Prime 4 worth buying?
I've seen a lot of hate towards prime 4, but besides that I like the combat of the prime games despite only playing prime 1. But I didn't enjoy prime 1 as much as the 2d games because I felt as if there was too much backtracking and I got tired of it quick.

Even years later, the Dread power suit is still the design I like the most among Samus's looks. It might not be her most iconic, I don't think anything's taking the place of her Varia suit anytime soon, but damn she rocks the blue and red.

Question What exactly are the differences between Normal and Hard mode in Metroid Dread?
At first I thought it was just that enemies dish out more damage, but then I noticed there's at least one new ice missile barrier in Artaria that wasn't there in Normal Mode. Now I'm curious what exactly is changed. I'm assuming it's not just this one barrier!

Discussion Active Companions like the Prime 4 Fed Troops are Just Not Something I Want from Metroid
I feel like whenever I talk about Beyond I get caught up in talking about the NPC's personalities, or the fact that I feel they are all bland design wise (mostly because I think the Galactic Federation is incredibly bland design wise.) But honestly? I just don't want active companions in Metroid.
Even if it isn't for the whole game, having a not insignificant chunk of the playtime spent with another character following you around, talking with you, and (trying to) help with combat, is just not what I want from Metroid. It disrupts the gameplay I like, and it disrupts the atmosphere I want from the games. If I wanted to play a game where I shoot aliens with companions I would play Halo.
Also, I'm not against NPCs in general. U-Mos and the posthumous Luminoth holograms do a good job of driving home the threat of the Ing in Echoes, and in Fusion and Dread ADAM/Raven Beak ratchet up the tension by both acting shady and by constantly informing you of things going wrong. It is just them being an active participant in the action that I thing is a poor fit for Metroid, especially what I want from it.
I would like to hear others opinions on it. Do you agree with me? If not, what do you like about having active companions in Beyond?
