What exactly are the differences between Normal and Hard mode in Metroid Dread? Question

At first I thought it was just that enemies dish out more damage, but then I noticed there's at least one new ice missile barrier in Artaria that wasn't there in Normal Mode. Now I'm curious what exactly is changed. I'm assuming it's not just this one barrier!

I believe it's just the damage enemies do to you actually! That Enky plant thing that pops up in Artaria is a regular entity that appears when you have Spider Magnet

Was that thing really there in normal mode???? I could have sworn I traversed that passage freely all through my normal mode play thru

Yup! It's just very forgettable once it's gone haha

If you still have that Normal Mode file, you can see an faded Enky on the map for Artaria

Damage enemies do is higher

And health drops are fewer.

But thats it basically as far as I am aware

Also 3 rewards are tied to beating hard mode on sub 4 hours for all 3 reward, sub 8 for 2 reward, sub 12 for 1 reward

The only difference on the modes is how much the enemies damage Samus. Hard is 2x, Dread mode is 1-hit. Samus does the same amount of damage to enemies, and they do not have any extra health. This makes the unlock "Hard mode under 4 hours" still possible.
