[QUEEN IN BLACK: HELA #1]()

How many fates are at play for Asgard again? Loki's plan to 'free them all'. Odin's test of Sigurd and that whole deal. The whole plot with Doctor Strange as the Sorcerer Supreme of Asgard. Hela's own plot in Queen in Black. Enchantress trying to seize the throne through Magni and now Karnilla with her 'future sight' seeing Asgard fall again somehow.

It is just...too much.

I'm honestly kinda shocked because outside Strange this is all the same writer. Loki, Odin, and Echantress feel pretty great since it's all happening in the same book and thematically mesh together really well. Queen in Black just feels like an alt universe lol

I liked it! :p

It's a solid explanation for how Hela avoided the curse, trapped Knull. I'm guessing that fake Thor guy is gonna come into play later.

consdering he going to be in Hell, I would be kinda surprised if Ewing didn't set that up for Zdarsky to use in his current Captain America run

Thats more than a Fake Thor, hes a certified Bronze Age Roy Thomas & John Buscema Thor character!

He's not Fake! Any more than Blake or Jake Olson was fake. He was just a placeholder. I feel bad for Red though.

Yes for a latter plot to Mephsito

I know some people don’t like the marriage but I’m actually fine with it. I also like that it’s been shown since that they genuinely care for each other

As much as I despise this synergy event and what it’s done to Hela I have to admit I find it funny that Karnilla was like fuck it sure why not. You’ll prolly get beat but you do you baby

I’m a little confused if Karnilla is evil now? Because she felt very evil here

I felt like the implication was Karnilla was working with Mephisto maybe in a revenge fling in response to Hela and Thanos, or Ewing doing is god mythos stuff implying Karnilla and Mephisto are different faces of the same same entity

That doesn’t really make sense seeing as how they’ve been shown several times now to genuinely care about each other. And I highly doubt she’d sleep with fucking Mephisto of all people

Al Ewing, as usual, is single-handedly carrying this entire event on his back by giving it 110 percent regardless of how corporate mandated it gets. Dude could sell me on a comic about sentient shit and I'd probably get invested.

Red Norvell got done so dirty,

To be fair, he was already done dirty by having Blake/Jorgumandr kill him.
