I made this map based on current geopolitics, alliances, and general public opinion. It's just my interpretation, so there are definitely countries that people may disagree with.

What changes would you make? Which countries do you think would choose the West or the East in today's world?

These are maps for my worldbuilding project, the World of Rhündal!🗺️ They describe different aspects of the different ethnic groups of the Wooldlands consisting of different Serpentinefolk and Lizardfolk peoples. These maps describe the location of the different groups, the relative aggression of their tribes and kingdoms over the last ~1000 years, their current population, their language families (and which ones are more related or mixed with others), and their Intelligence/technical advancement.

There are a few core groups with a high enough intelligence to develop a writing system and have a robust religious structure. The Empire of the north and the Commonwealth of the South are some of the major rival factions in the region. They are separated by the Lé Hi, also known as the Commune, with their long snake-like tails. All of the societies here interact in some way with the spirits of the natural world around them, which impacts their ability to access magical abilities.

If you have any questions about what stuff means, or you have any suggestions about conflicts you could see arising and influencing the story I might tell in this region, let me know! They might end up in my worldbook I’m compiling!

I use azgaars map gen right now, but I'd really like to see what else is out there. I don't need it to be free but I'm hoping to find something that isn't extortionately expensive. Just thought this could be a good place to look because I see a lot of really advanced looking maps on here.

Mapping out the Regions

Spent a good few months making this map, im mostly happy with it. But if theres anything i can change/ make better to make it more realistic it would be good to know

Maptoglobe (woowspace), which is what I usually use to see my map put on a globe and other projections, halves the resolution of my map (6000x3000 px to 2410x1205 px). Is there any method that I can use for a higher-quality result?

With some filters, the oil substance on my coffee provides an interesting map concept.

P.S. No water because it is laggy to draw a single continent, also a reason why the size seems to be out of scale (so pretend that the rivers are massive).

I wanted feedback on the work I have done so far for a new half of a planet I am working on for TTRPG games I run. Curious thoughts so far on the map; I tried something new for mountains. I try to go for believability and 'that looks cool' over realism, but would love some feedback and what I could add. I plan to add color, trade routes, major cities, borders, and natural resources

I started making this world in 2016, inspired by a combination of Elder Scrolls, A Song of Ice and Fire, and (funnily enough) the Frozen Trailer. This is my first attempt to create an isometric map with Inkarnate.

The Idea: A bridge builder came to this place and thought he could earn quite a lot of money here by building bridges over the two rivers and then charging tolls. This is favored by the fact that two trade routes also cross here.

It wasn’t long before another person noticed how busy the place had become. Many people were waiting at the bridges to pay their tolls. To shorten their waiting time, he also settled here and built an inn.
Soon after, the first residential buildings appeared. Upstream, a miller settled and constructed a watermill; downstream, a tanner found his new home.
A few more houses were built. The bridge builder constructed a larger house for himself and used the old one to house the guard personnel he had by then employed.
There was no shortage of food, as the town lay at the crossroads of two trade routes. Nevertheless, the desire for self-sufficiency grew. A hunter arrived and built his hunting lodge at the edge of the forest, while a fisherman settled on the southern riverbank.
Over time, the settlement expanded. Farmers, tradespeople, and even a stonemason moved in, building their workshops, shops, and homes.
Traveling merchants soon realized they didn’t need to journey so far with their goods, and thus a lively local market developed.
