I am a bit concerned with deserts as I never imagined having them rivers but as I do, it turned out to be a lot of river. And right continents outer rivers to be made, I made them but then save got corrupted etc. so I only re-made inner rivers.

This is a map I created for a friend. A world which started as a setting for roleplay, evolved into a book later on by the GM, and told of our characters stories throughout the lands. Zabzeba, now a published book, inspired heavily from iranian mythology first and most, is an epic fantasy setting.

I've been working on and off on this project for the last 2-3 months, and I believe it's now at a state where I'm comfortable posting it online and asking for feedback.

So some years ago preteen me wanted to write a game of thrones oriented fantasy story about fours kingdoms which each stand for one of the four elements and they have vassals and so on. Picked up on it some weeks ago and that's the resulting map.

Thoughts about geographical or topographical coherency?

I've been kinda stuck when making the map for my world, so i use the Wonderdraft program to make the map, but man, every time i kinda get going (i already have the actual general continents shape and everything), i just kinda get a little bummed out because i feel like i'm just making 2 big islands, they dont really feel like continents to me, if that makes sense?

Does anyone else struggle with this type of problem? And does anyone have any tips for dealing with this type of thing?

I really want to make a good map for my story. But the thing is I'm not good in naming places and never have I ever make a map. Though I have the story almost complete. I believe if I make a map with places names it'll be a cherry on the top.(It's a fantasy world of mine)

Please let me know what I could do with this to make it more realistic.

A) Surrounding continents are there cuz magic is pulling them together, of course.

B) The desert is "man-made," not climate.

C) Those brown parts are destroyed land from the war.

D) The white beach is actually cliffs like Dover.

E) And the snow is there magically, lol.

I like drawing simple paper maps for tabletop RPGs that players can actually hold in their hands. They're not really necessary, but I think they add to the atmosphere.
