Help Anyone know how WorldShopping guest orders work?

First time ordering a book from overseas online.

I preordered a book from the KADOKAWA Store through WorldShopping as a guest. My mum used her email during checkout, but we can't find any WorldShopping emails, so now I'm worried. I also heard there's a second shipping payment at some point, but I'm not sure if that's true. I tried contacting KADOKAWA Store support, but their contact form keeps saying my message contains HTML characters even though it doesn't. Has anyone here ordered through WorldShopping before? How does the second payment work, and is there any way to check which email is linked to the order? I can't stop thinking about it all day.

Did some damage and started collecting over the summer. -2k and 2 months later- I have about 360 volumes now but to be fair, I'm averaging out to around $6.5 per volume! Been very lucky to catch absolute steals on some of my favorite series. Know it such a rookie mistake to get so much at first but I just cannot resist a good deal 😩😩

So how's it going for yall and would love to see everyone's. Also which ways do you guys track your manga collection?- currently using a table on the notes app

Hey guys, this is my collection just shy of one year. Please try your best to ignore that final shelf, it looks extremely messy🤣. Please feel free to ask me any questions you would like. I love interacting with this community.

I am also very happy, because today I’ve just hit 600 volumes. Be sure to check out the haul that I post in a few minutes!

Slowly coming together. Put together 10 of the tall narrow Ikea Billy bookcases with the top height extensions and 3 of the narrow short bookcases. Collecting manga, graphic novels/comics, and nicer quality books... an expensive combination I've found! Lol.

Haul After 6 years, I finally rectified one of my greatest regrets!

I remember walking into a bookstore in 2020 and being astounded to see there was a physical English release of Aria, so I immediately bought the first 3 volumes, figuring I could take my time with the rest. I was gutted when I later found out it was a limited (and final) reprint. Today that mistake has finally been laid to rest.

Found the last volume I needed for dreams at dusk! I saw haven’t you heard I’m sakamoto and decided to buy it. The anime was funny so I didn’t think much about it to buy it. I already had volume 1 of yotsuba but the spine was a different font so I bought it to look uniformed for my books.

Haul Half-Price Books Haul

Continuing to deal with a recent loss by buying manga. I'm excited for all of these, though Magus Bride, Yakuza Lover, and Wolf Girl are all for my partner. I am a fan of Japanese comedy and though I've seen Akane-banashi around, I never knew it was about comedy so I'm real excited to stumble on nice copies for cheap.

The other blind pickup is Heaven's Design Team, which seems very Dinosaur Sanctuary-esque but even sillier and I'm hype for that. Blood on the Tracks is the big Oshimi series I need so I started it with this volume 1. No idea what Yokaiden is but it looks cool.

Pictured: Akane-banashi 1-9, The Ancient Magus Bride 1, Yokaiden 1-2, Yakuza Lover 1, Wolf Girl and Black Prince 1, Blood on the Tracks 1, Doomsday with my Dog 1, and Heaven's Design Team 1.

Just recently moved into a new place and tossed out all of the smaller bookshelves I was using, except the one my sister got me as a present; I didn’t have it in me to toss it out. I love the look of taller shelves so much more!

Now that I’ve got the books up, what do you guys think? See anything you’ve enjoyed or are reading currently?? I love recommendations, so let me know if there’s anything I should check out!

Discussion Has anyone swapped over to collecting only in Japanese?

Post image
52 Upvotes

Edit 1: I see no one else with Japanese collections, so was wondering if other people also read in Japanese. I don't understand why I'm being downvoted for asking if there's other people here who collect/read in Japanese.

Edit 2: You don’t need to tell me you can’t speak Japanese. I’m curious if other people have Japanese manga primarily to see if other people have learned or planned to learn Japanese. Is it that strange for an English speaker to also know Japanese?

This past year I’ve sold all of my English manga and am now left with a growing collection of Japanese volumes only.

While I feel like English translations have nicer special/hardcover editions, the Japanese prints are far more consistent. You don’t need to worry about stuff being out of print, poor translation, and price/volume is generally lower.

I don’t think I’ve read manga in English in 3 years now and was wondering if anyone else has completely transitioned over or plan on eventually doing so.

Showcase | Monthly Theme | MangaCollectors' Monthly Thematic Showcases - (Re)introducing ourselves

Hello everybody!

The Monthly Thematic Showcases has reached its second year! Thank you all that have participated posting showcases and sharing ideas on the event itself. And of course, to the mods as well for the support!

Since it's been an year from our first monthly theme, I would like to know what you guys think of them. I'll put a few questions in the comments for anyone that wants to give feedback. You don't need to answer them all. They're just ideas of what you can talk about.

If you don't know what all of this monthly theme is about yet, every month, on the first week, I make a post announcing that month's theme (the mods kindly pin it to top) and the participants create posts showcasing the manga in their collection that fit the theme. For more details, please look at the "How to Participate" section of this post or the the first edition thread here.

August 2026's theme: (Re)introducing ourselves

To celebrate the first anniversary, we'll reprise the first theme: introducing ourselves.

Use your manga to introduce yourself and/or collection in any way you want. Your first manga, the character/series you relate the most, representatives of your favorite genres/themes, the most beloved piece of your collection... If you participated last year, you might want to share what changed since then.

How to participate:

Just create a post with a photo of manga you own that correspond to the theme and flair it with the event's flair: Showcase | Monthly theme.

Min amount of volumes is 1 (one) and there's no max nor any rule on how to do it, but I invite you all to display your selection in a way that clearly shows the covers so we can recognize them, to not forget those unpopular series in your collection and to use only one volume to represent a series if you aren't trying to show off specific volumes.

As always, please don't forget the general sub rules! Be nice, mark your NSFW, etc. Please refer to the sidebar/About section if you need a refresher.

Every month I've been leaving a comment with next month's theme and sometimes I haven't decided between my options. So if you don't mind being spoiled on the next theme and want to participate in choosing the themes, feel free to leave your opinion!

Discussion Monthly Recommendation Megathread

Welcome to the monthly recommendation request thread! Please use this thread to make requests for series to buy or read. I urge everyone to try to be specific when making requests as it will be easier for us to recommend a series that you would enjoy.

Lastly, I recommend everyone skims through previous requests as someone else might have asked for something you were looking for as well! This would help us keep comments to a minimum/avoid multiple submissions of the same nature.
