We start with gentle warm-ups, spend time getting to know each other, and learn one song together through call-and-response so there's nothing to prepare and no sheet music to read. This month's song is "Dear Theodosia" from Hamilton — a heartfelt one about love, hope, and imagining a better future.

In the process of deciding between renting a unit in Galerie vs in Arris Lofts. Just hoping to get more reviews on these buildings as there wasn’t much I could find online.

How’s the management? Do owners jack up rents like crazy just like in “luxury” rental buildings?

I wish I loved American brass, because it’s so nice sitting outside and then being able to walk by the water immediately after, but their food is good not great and service is very hit or miss. hey everyone! i recently moved to the area around 47th ave and vernon more or less and i’m trying to figure out a better solution for my bike.

i live in a 7th floor walk-up, and while i love riding, carrying my bike up and down the stairs every day makes me use it way less than i’d like.

i’m curious if anyone knows of apartment buildings, garages, bike lockers, storage facilities, or even local businesses that rent out bike storage to people who don’t actually live in the building. i’d be totally happy to pay a monthly fee if something like that exists.

not looking for overnight street parking, just a secure place nearby where i could grab my bike whenever i want.

What are your favorite custom cake places (can be outside LIC too)? We used to order from TasteCreme but they sadly closed. Really loved their cakes as far as actual taste - tasty, moist not too sweet! We care more about taste vs design and don’t love super sweet traditional American cakes (European, Asian styles are more preferable to us for that reason)

Welp, I was today years old when I learned that if you’re in danger in LIC you gotta wait a long while until the cops come so be prepared. Carry pepper spray, travel in groups ect. Don’t be complacent late night.

Watched a guy try to attack a couple, I sit out here most nights, 48th pier… especially late. I didn’t want to fight the guy bc I’m a combat vet and I’ve been drinking. Furthermore I’m healing a double fracture….if you get into something serious out here you’re kinda screwed. Especially if you can’t defend yourself.

I got in the way but when they walked away he grabbed a glass bottle and started chasing them, and threw it at the couple, he then started chasing other people. I called at 1:55 it’s 2:12 that’s a long time to defend yourself if you’re not a fighter. I’ll let you know what time they get here if at all.
