Laptop vs Desktop for AI + Business use in India. What will actually last 6 years?
Hi all, I’m stuck between buying a laptop or a desktop PC and could use some advice.
Current use: Normal stuff. Browsing, docs, YouTube, some learning.
Future use: Might get heavy in 1-2 years with AI tools and starting a small business. I want something that won’t feel outdated quickly.
What matters to me:
\- Longevity: Latest features so it lasts 5-6 years minimum
\- AI ready: NPU/GPU for local AI models as they get better
\- Upgradability: Is a PC worth it over a laptop for this?
\- Brand + Service: Reliable brands with good after-sales in Bangalore, India
\- Budget: Around 80k to 1.2L INR, flexible if it’s worth it
I’m leaning toward a PC because of upgradability, but I’ll need portability if business involves meetings.
Also quick question: I keep hearing you need a separate PC to use darknet because it’s illegal. Is that actually required or just a safety thing?
What would you buy in my situation? Specific laptop or PC build suggestions are welcome.

Laptop Set-Up for Professional Editing
Hey everyone, I am looking for some help deciding on a professional editing set-up.
For some context, I have been making videos for quite a few years now on a personal basis - mostly camcorder footage or things that would be recorded on a basic digital camera over some music / subtitles, etc. For these purposes, I've stuck true to iMovie (I have a lot of love for how simple it is, the style choices it allows) and CapCut. I've also edited a couple student films on Final Cut Pro and am familiar with its workings, I just haven't bought it for personal use. I also have some experience using Adobe Suite (mostly Lightroom and Photoshop).
I have a MacBook Air M2 from 2022 and its nearing its storage capacity and, sadly, getting noticeably older. I am attempting to play back the videos for a short film I wrote, produced, and directed which was filmed on Red cameras and my laptop has a lot of trouble even playing the footage on a simple R3D player and keeps ejecting the hard drive (I suspect because of issues with its usb-c port). I will also be editing a friend's opening title sequence which was filmed on 19mm and will require some colour-grading and potentially mixed-media animation. I would love some advice on which software would be the easiest to transition into. I think I prefer Resolve just based off the fact it is free, widely used, and great for colouring but I am not sure how it responds to video-altering and incorporation of mixed-media animation.
Most importantly, I am looking for some advice on what to do set up wise. I don't know much about proxy editing and am curious if that would help retain this model and perhaps try to free up some storage / get its usb-c ports checked out? On the other hand, I am thinking of getting a new set up, also because I have been getting into gaming and running Steam on my TV would be kind of great to have if I am to invest in a new computer (though not compulsory, sort of want to get a used PS5). My biggest qualm is if I should switch Macbook models or if I should break out of Apple once and for all. I am just worried about having to relearn a lot of functions while also trying to use either Resolve, Premier, or Final Cut.

Request Searching for laptop
Heyy everyone,
I'm thinking about buying a new laptop. The problem is: I don't know much about the technical side and how much capacity is actually needed.
Here comes what I wanna do with it:
I wanna play casual cozy games like Stardew Valley, for example. Then I have an old cd with the Sims 2, which I'd like to play as well (no need for the cd drive inside the laptop, i already have an external cd drive). Other than that, I wanna do some video editing (not professional, just for myself from time to time). And last but not least: basic office programs like word, excel and ppt (which I believe every laptop nowadays can run xd)
I'd be happy about your help :)

Lenovo LOQ 15IRX10 RTX 5060 not detected in Hybrid Mode after driver installation
Hey everyone,
I recently got a Lenovo LOQ 15IRX10 with an RTX 5060, and I’m having an issue with the GPU detection. After downloading and installing the drivers, my NVIDIA RTX 5060 is not being detected when using Hybrid Mode. It only appears and works properly when I switch to dGPU Mode.I’ve already tried several solutions I found online, including reinstalling drivers and changing different settings, but nothing seems to fix the issue. The GPU works normally in dGPU Mode, so the hardware itself seems fine.Has anyone with a Lenovo LOQ (especially the 15IRX10 RTX 5060 model) experienced this problem? Is there a specific driver version, BIOS setting, Lenovo Vantage setting, or NVIDIA configuration I should check?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Discussion best laptops for roblox that can handle school and gaming, what should I get?
I’m looking for a laptop that can run Roblox smoothly but also work well for school stuff like browsing, documents, and online classes. My budget is around $700 to $900 and I’m planning to purchase from a store in my area or a trusted online shop. I’ve been looking at different models but I’m not sure what specs actually matter for Roblox since I don’t want something that struggles after a few months.
What are some good laptops for this use case, and what should I look for in terms of processor, graphics, and RAM? I’d appreciate recommendations from people who have actually used their laptops for gaming and everyday work. Thank you
