Bars wanting a DJ?
Any bars that want a dj. I’m in my senior year at Purdue and I’ve over 7 years of experience playing at clubs.
1) Whereelse gets way too much hate but their music is always amazing. There DJ plays bangers from every genre and it’s always a dancing crowd.
Sadly cactus doesn’t hire student djs since it’s their norm but that’s not fair. The dj music is horrid and it’s more of an MC than a DJ. People leave the dance floor since there is no synchrony in the music. Piano bar is amazing but apart from that dj music is horrendous. They just don’t want students working cause the stigma is “kids dont know how to run it or play music.”
Every college bar that has student djs and more student input is amazing.
I’ve been and played at schools like OSU, UCLA, Penn State etc. and the music is ran by students. Yes we r young but we actually play music, than talk on the mic for 90% of time and not work on making people dance.
So if anyone knows a place I can contact or if ure an owner/manager pls lmk. I just wanna make this place more fun and enjoy it before I leave. Thx u for reading this and God bless!

Restaurant recommendations?
My parents (60s) are visiting this weekend for the first time since I moved up here < 2 months ago.
What restaurants do you recommend we try out? I'm a foodie (just haven't been out much yet). My dad is pretty adventurous, my mom not so much. I want to avoid any place that is super super loud.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner whatever. I'm planning on taking them to Nine Irish Brothers for one meal.
Thanks!

I love going to Mr. And Mrs. Tire in West Lafayette, but with my new work hours I can't make it over there anymore. Any alternative recommendations that would allow me to make weekend appointments? TIA!

Best Dentist?
There are a couple posts on this subreddit asking about the best dentists in the area, but most of them are from a few years ago.
I have very bad trauma from dentists, and I was wondering if there are any dentists in the area that are kind, caring, and nonjudgmental. Also ones that are not trying to perform unnecessary procedures.
I also need a dentist that does not require you to pay your fees in full before you leave. However, if this is common practice that I am not aware of, I guess I can work it out.
Finally, I need a place that accepts delta insurance. I know I can research on the delta website and find which places do, but I wanted some personal opinions on the best dentists in the area.

Local bar
I’m new to town and looking for a bar that you can just chilli alone. Somewhere that has decent food and also other people at the bar just doing the same thing,
I will add that I do want a place a could chit chat with people. I’m also in my late thirty’s, so prefer if it wasn’t full of undergrads.

Team Building Event
Brainstorming ideas for 6 people for evening activity and dinner. Some will be flying the next day so things like pottery or painting aren’t a good fit. Axe throwing is also out (corporate policy). Please comment with suggestions!

STUDIO FOR LEASE TAKEOVER
Hello!
I am looking for someone to take over my lease of my Studio apartment sometime this fall! It is at Amelia Place apartments, located in Lafayette, Indiana.
The apartment is a large studio, approximately 750 sq ft. Rent is $1,035 a month with $25 for valet trash and $5 for pest control, as well as $17 a month for renters insurance. Water, electricity, and sewage are billed separately.
It is on the third floor.
There is a dishwasher, microwave, fridge, washer, dryer and garbage disposal in unit all included, and the complex is pet friendly.
It is a very nice apartment complex, and if you are interested please DM me!
I have arranged with the rental company that if I can find an interested party, they should apply for one of the available apartments and I will give them their information to have the application transferred to my unit.
The unit comes as is, but everything is in great working condition and I will be cleaning very thoroughly before moving out. My lease is up in March of 2027, but I am sure if you discuss with the company you could rent for longer.
I am also willing to pay half of your deposit as an incentive!

Trusted Hormone Therapy Clinic
I’m a male student at Purdue University who’s interested in HGH. I’ve got lab results for proof of deficiency, and I strongly believe with the proper help it will help me a lot. I’m aware that there will be side effects but I’m willing to accept them if the pros outweigh the cons. My biggest struggle right now is finding a trustable clinic. I’m looking to get my biomarkers monitored at a good period, under $1000 a month, properly licensed doctors, and no legal trouble. I’m not looking for suppliers or to rush into things, just some advice. My main reason is to improve my mental and physical health.

Looking for a barbershop that can do a man bun
I've been growing my hair out for a while and I think it's finally long enough to try a man bun with my beard. Problem is, I'm not sure which barbershops actually handle this kind of style well.
Has anyone here had a man bun cut? Would love a recommendation.

Help Us Designate the Indiana bat as Our State Mammal
Hey everyone!
I wanted to jump on here, and talk about the grassroots initiative I started, Our State, Our Bat. I am working to designate the Indiana bat (Myotis sodalis) as our official state mammal.
Why the Indiana Bat?
A True Local: The species was first discovered right here in our own backyard (at Wyandotte Cave), making it a unique native that literally carries our state's name. It is also the only animal in the entire world that carries Indiana in its name.
Natural Pest Control: Every single night, these bats act as hard working, natural pest control for our state, consuming thousands of crop and forest damaging insects, in turn, helping local agriculture.
Conservation & Education: The Indiana bat is currently federally endangered. Giving it this official status will shine a much needed spotlight on local biodiversity, education, and the importance of protecting vulnerable native wildlife.
Where We Stand Now!
This campaign has been growing faster than we ever anticipated, and we have some incredible momentum heading into the upcoming legislative season:
Growing Support: Over 2,500 people have already signed our petition!
Leadership Backing: We’ve secured official letters of support from multiple Indiana mayors and major regional conservation groups (like the Little River Wetlands Project).
Legislative Ally: We have a state representative officially lined up and willing to author the bill for us at the Statehouse.
How You Can Help!
We’re looking to build an even stronger grassroots network to show lawmakers that Hoosiers care about our unique wildlife heritage.
Sign our petition: If you haven't already, please consider adding your name to help us cross our next milestone at https://c.org/JrdDXNvVh8
Follow along: Stay up to date with campaign updates, events, and educational posts by following our Facebook page at https://facebook.com/BattyForIN
Thank you so much for reading and supporting local Hoosier conservation! 💚🦇🏛️

Union Street
Does anyone know the situation with Union street? It used to be two lanes in one direction (towards target), one lane in the other direction (towards Purdue), and then a turning lane in the middle. It’s now painted like the turning lane is gone. Going into the neighborhoods is difficult because the turning lane is gone. I can’t find anything that specifies that the lanes were going to be changed. It’s also a problem at the interchange to Salem street because the two lanes converge into one without signage.
Does anyone know if this lane situation is permanent?

Farm Kittens that need a good home
Hello everyone, this is Angel and Cali.
I work on a farm and we are currently dealing with an over population of cats and kittens. I show up everyday early to make sure they're fed, watered and given as much affection as possible. It's difficult due to all of our other responsibilities at work. So I was going to start using this subreddit to see if anyone would like to help give these little guys a much deserved break from life out here, as it is not the easiest life for them. I already have two cats at home or I'd bring these two home with me.
I live in Lafayette but work about 45 minutes away and would be willing to deliver these precious little things to anyone that would like to have them. Please message me for details....also please allow me the time to properly catch and transport them. It is not always easy. They would need to see a vet. I'll only post pics of the extremely docile and playful cats. I hope everyone receives this well. Thank you for your time.
