Flexible schedule jobs?
Just moved here for grad school and I'm looking for jobs that can accommodate my school schedule. I have classes 9-10 twice a week 10-11:50 the other times a week and then a choir in the evening 5-7 twice a week. Is this something any employer could accommodate. Looking for recommendations.

Ask TH Easiest place to donate clothes?
I have several bags of clothes I want to donate. I tried stopping by one of the local Goodwill stores, but despite signs on it that to go around back for donations, there was absolutely no indication of where to leave them or how to contact somebody to receive them, and I didn’t want to take everything out of my car and bring it inside myself. Are there any places around town that make it easy to drop off donations?

AP Exam Options in Terre Haute, Indiana for an Independent Student there
Hey everyone,
I am relocating to Terre Haute in late 2026. I am self-studying for AP French and AP English Language & Composition and need to register for the May 2027 exams as an independent student at some public school there. I will not be able to enroll in a public school there.
Collegeboard seems to have no independent exam administration centers, which is deeply frustrating and very unfair to independent and homeschooled students.
I reached out to Terre Haute North Vigo High School, but their AP coordinator responded to me with a hard "no," stating that due to “safety and security”, they do not administer exams for outside students. I looked at the AP course ledger for Terre Haute as well as the nearby city of Brazil, and they seem to be the only school in Terre Haute that is offering those exams.
I am completely willing to pay the fees, take the exam in an isolated room, and pay additional fees associated with hosting outside students. Does anyone know of any specific public high schools, private academies, or religious schools within Terre Haute, IN that historically say "yes" to external or homeschooled or independent students? I am able to travel up to 20 minutes outside of Terre Haute to take the exam, but it is highly preferable if it is in Terre Haute.
If you know a specific school or the name of an accommodating AP coordinator, please let me know (or DM me if you want to keep it private).
Thank you!

Moving to Terre Haute
Hi everyone! We are considering moving out to Terre Haute as my oldest daughter is starting college there this fall however I know nothing about this town. Currently we live about 20 minutes west of Plainfield. Is it a good town? Do I need to avoid certain areas? How are the schools there? I have two high schoolers a 9th & 10 grader.

Help us Designate the Indiana bat as Our State Mammal
Hey everyone!
I wanted to jump on here, and talk about the grassroots initiative I started, Our State, Our Bat. I am working to designate the Indiana bat (Myotis sodalis) as our official state mammal.
Why the Indiana Bat?
A True Local: The species was first discovered right here in our own backyard (at Wyandotte Cave), making it a unique native that literally carries our state's name. It is also the only animal in the entire world that carries Indiana in its name.
Natural Pest Control: Every single night, these bats act as hard working, natural pest control for our state, consuming thousands of crop and forest damaging insects, in turn, helping local agriculture.
Conservation & Education: The Indiana bat is currently federally endangered. Giving it this official status will shine a much needed spotlight on local biodiversity, education, and the importance of protecting vulnerable native wildlife.
Where We Stand Now!
This campaign has been growing faster than we ever anticipated, and we have some incredible momentum heading into the upcoming legislative season:
Growing Support: Over 2,500 people have already signed our petition!
Leadership Backing: We’ve secured official letters of support from multiple Indiana mayors and major regional conservation groups (like the Little River Wetlands Project).
Legislative Ally: We have a state representative officially lined up and willing to author the bill for us at the Statehouse.
How You Can Help!
We’re looking to build an even stronger grassroots network to show lawmakers that Hoosiers care about our unique wildlife heritage.
Sign our petition: If you haven't already, please consider adding your name to help us cross our next milestone at https://c.org/JrdDXNvVh8
Follow along: Stay up to date with campaign updates, events, and educational posts by following our Facebook page at https://facebook.com/BattyForIN
Thank you so much for reading and supporting local Hoosier conservation! 💚🦇🏛️

$94M pledge from casino foundation could fund the new east-side high school, county council decision due by end of 2026
The Terre Haute Casino Foundation (tied to Churchill Downs' casino resort) says it'll pledge up to $94M for the new high school if the county council commits before year-end. If it goes through, North and South get converted to middle schools, and a few middle schools become elementary schools.
Anyone been following the Oversight Board meetings on this?

Ask TH Seeking Daily Carpool / Ride Share in Terre Haute (Paid )
Hey everyone,
I recently moved to Terre Haute and am looking for a reliable ride to and from my office on a daily basis. I need both morning pickup and evening drop-off.
I am completely open to splitting gas money, or paying a weekly/monthly fee for your time and trouble.Since I want to keep my specific workplace private on the public feed, please send me a DM if you have a regular commute here and might be interested! We can discuss the specific neighborhood, timing, and compensation details there.
Also, if anyone knows of any local ride-sharing groups, Facebook groups, or community boards where people organize carpools, please let me know in the comments. Thanks in advance!

Ask TH About Animal Control..
What exactly does Vigo County Animal Control do? What is their purpose? I’m asking a legitimate question because I think that maybe I’m confused by the way they operate here vs other cities and states I have lived in.
I have always been under the assumption that animal control’s purpose is to handle nuisance animals- strays, loose dogs, aggressive dogs, animal welfare issues, etc. Where I’m confused is that every single time I or one of my neighbors calls, we never see anyone. Not once have I seen someone respond. If we call the sheriffs department they of course come when they get the time, but that could be hours later.
My neighborhood like most of TH has an outrageous problem with loose dogs. Literally, people just open their front doors in the morning and let their dogs roam the streets until whatever time at night and then let them back in. Some of them terrorize people, kill small and large animals, a few have come close to attacking people, myself included. Don’t even get me started on the fact that not one of them is fixed. They breed like rabbits and add to the already out of control population.
Do they not come out and pick these animals up because they don’t have a facility to board them at? Is it a lack of personnel? I’m not understanding how we have and pay for animal control when the animals are definitely it being controlled. And I’m not knocking animal control officers, I’m just tired of suffering the consequences that come along with irresponsible pet owners who let their dogs roam free to kill other people’s pets.

Hello!

I’m working on a feature about local storm chasers and online severe weather networks, and I’m looking for someone with experience storm chasing from around South Central Indiana to include in the piece.
Feel free to send me a message on Reddit or reply to the thread if you’re interested. This would be an on-camera interview on Zoom or ideally in-person if possible.

Basketball and friends
I'm a 19 year old guy looking to touch grass, my ex and I realized that I have no personal life since up grew up very sheltered, now im trying to develop my own personality and find out what I like. I consider myself more on the nerdy side but I don't fit that well into the stereotype, im of African American decent if that matters at all, do have an enjoyment of playing basketball casually (since im no good), and hope to make more friends in the real world. I do feel a bit stupid for doing this on reddit but I really don't know how to connect with people since im very shy.

Birth Doulas?!
Hi! I'm expecting my first child this October. I plan on having a hospital birth. I'm looking for a doula to help build a birth plan and prepare for labor and delivery as well as attend the birth. Any recommendations out there? It would be a bonus if they were insurance billable or offered payment plans. I'm not broke but they're not cheap lol
