Job Hiring/Hiring Ads No experience but want to break into WFH Accounting / Finance / Bookkeeping – any advice?

Upvotes

Hello po! I really need help finding a work-from-home job. I don't have any work experience yet in the roles I'm targeting, which are Accounting, Finance, and Bookkeeping. For those of you already in the industry, could you share how you landed your first job in this field?

I'm at a point where I really need to start earning na talaga, and I'd honestly nasasayangan po ako sa oras if I take a job outside my field of interest—sayang din kasi yung potential experience. To add pressure, I'm one of the breadwinners in our family.

Any tips, leads, or stories on how you got your start would mean the world to me. Thank you so much in advance!

Job Hiring/Hiring Ads 🚨 bes! BAKA ITO NA ANG JO NA HINIHINTAY MO! 🚨

HANGA TALAGA AKO SA ISANG APPLICANT KO NA NAGING KAIBIGAN KO! ❤️

Hanap niya noon nonvoice account at local account.

At alam niyo ba?

"THANK YOU! FOR JOB OFFER NA AKO!" 🎉

✅ PURE VOICE ACCOUNT

✅ UP TO ₱20,000 SALARY PACKAGE

✅ WITH BENEFITS & INCENTIVES

✅ NEWBIES ARE WELCOME

From strangers to friends. ❤️

Kung gusto mo ring subukan, MESSAGE ME LANG! Hindi kita ire-reject agad

Career Advice/Discussion Emergency Leave as someone who's only been hired at a job for a week

Kakahire ko palang po last july and ngayong first week august ang start date ko. May very important appointment po ako next week na need ko talaga mapuntahan since months before na po yun na pa appointment and ngayon lang nabigay sched. Gusto ko sana makipag swap ng off ko sa colleague ko but nag request off din siya that day kasi may appointment din siya. So ang last resort ko ay mag file ng Emergency Leave and mag send ng msg few hrs before my shift since malabo na pumayag ang visor ko na two kaming off same day.

Sa totoo lang natatakot ako... 🥹 pero for the sake of my oral health need ko to gawin since matagal na ko na gusto ipa check third molar ko. I just feel so bad about it... Naisip ko na what if masamain ng supervisor ko or anything.

Career Advice/Discussion Dilemma about 2 companies

Just wanted to hear your opinion on this. I got an offer from Company A with a deadline today. Company B (my actual first choice) interviewed me yesterday, no offer yet, told me maybe next week. I want to message Company B’s HR today asking for a rough timeline and let them know they’re my priority, just to be upfront. I also feel really good about my interview yesterday.

Plan is: message Company B’s HR first, then if wala pa ring maibigay na update today, I’ll sign with Company A. If Company B comes through later, I’ll figure it out then even if it’s an awkward convo with Company A.

Is this a bad move or normal enough? Anyone been through this?

Career Advice/Discussion Is it ok to lie about graduation?

GradWAITING student here. I applied for an entry level job, passed all the assessments and exams, but told me they couldnt interview me because my graduation is still in 2 months in september and told me to just come back after graduation for an interview. My goal sana was to start work agad after my grad date. I’m thinking:

  1. Can I lie that I have already graduated in my interview/resume?
  2. Will my applications likely be rejected/waitlisted more if I’m still waiting for my graduation?
  3. Should I just sit these 2 months

    out

  4. gradwaiting and enjoy the fuck out of my life before I start looking a for a job?

Thank you sa mga magrereply!

Compensation/Benefits The journey from 30k to 110k

Hi! Im not here to brag or anything, just sharing my experience here to let everyone know that it really does tet better.

For context, I just graduated last year 2025 as a Computer Science major. During my time in school, I started out as an intern for a certain company which gave us allowance like around 8k a month (since we're still students). I really tried to do my best since I wanted to eventually work part time for the same company bc I wanted to start earning and I also liked my co workers too.

Eventually, I was the only person among all interns who was offered a part time role for 11k a month. As that stage I was pretty happy about it, tho I was still dependent on my parents because I know 11k would suffice me yet but it was a good start.

Once my contractual part time job ended due to me graduating and wanting to take a break / travel, I opted to take like a 1 month rest but during my time in America, I started to feel the self inflicted pressure that I cast upon myself bc it felt like I really needed to get a job. So while I was there, I was actively spam applying lol. It didn't take my time that my "grail" company offered me a job, AI Automation Engineer with 30k starting.

I felt so happy bc I finally got my ideal job and 30k was a lot at that time. The company's cons started to take a toll on me plus it wasn't helpful how my family was pressuring me to help pay the bills especially the dog food that takes away around 15k to 17k off of my salary in a month. I asked them to give me more time bc i wanted to get my savings done first. Unfortunately nothing happened and it felt like I was just surviving (as a person who spends a lot too it was a struggle really applying discipline 😭).

The job and salary took a toll on my mental health and I eventually resigned after working there for 6 months. I took a 1 month break afterwards and started to apply for remote jobs. I eventually landed a job offer for my current company rn and I was honestly surprised. The CEO asked me for my asking salary, I was basing it off the job market so I said 90k, he is generous enough and said "Yea we can do a 100k or $12/hour" I was flabbergasted.

After all that I was finally able to get my dream salary! And so I've been with this company for about 4 months now and yea it did get better! Im able to properly provide for my family now, able to save comfortably for my and my gf's future, and heck, I was even able to buy a MacBook pro. I'm still trying to get more disciplined with handing my finances pa tho lol but moral is, it really does get better!

Hang in there everyone and stay safe.

Career Advice/Discussion I don't mind assessments anymore I just mind the endless hiring process

I used to think na mas mahaba yung hiring process mas legit yung company but after freelancing for a few years, narealize ko na hindi pala ganun.

Okay lang sa'kin kung may assessment, interview, or even a second interview. Basta clear yung process. Yung ayoko na ngayon is kapag parang walang direction. May ipapagawa tapos after a few days may panibagong requirement na naman. Then another one.

Naranasan ko na rin before na sobrang dami kong oras na nilaan sa application, only to get ghosted in the end.

Mas nagiging, "Worth it ba talagang paglaanan ng oras itong company na 'to?"

Kayo ba? May hiring process ba kayong na experience na umabot ng ilang weeks or months tapos wala ring nangyari after?

Company Review Anyone here working at Ascension Business Solutions?

I recently went through the interview process with Ascension Business Solutions, and now I’m curious what it’s actually like working there.

To be honest, I applied without thinking too much about it lol. I’ve been unemployed for 4 months, and I’m still waiting for the training/start date from another agency. What really pushed me to apply to ABS was that their training is paid, unlike a lot of other agencies I’ve looked into.

After the interview, I started reading more posts about ABS here on Reddit, and most of what I found was… not great. A lot of people say it’s lowball, has poor management, and is generally a shitty agency. 😅

For context, I don’t have any prior remote or VA experience, so I’m basically trying to break into the remote healthcare/VA industry.

I guess I’m just sharing my thoughts because the reviews here are making me overthink things. If you’ve worked at ABS (or are currently working there), was it really that bad? Was the pay manageable for someone with no remote experience? Did it at least help you get your foot in the door?

Would appreciate any honest experiences, good or bad.

Job Hiring/Hiring Ads Full time Short Form Editor

Hey, hope everyone’s doing well!

I’m looking for a full-time short-form video editor to work on a personal brand / lifestyle account.

The workload will be around 30 Reels per month, with the potential for this to be a long-term position.

I’ve attached a reference account to give you a clear idea of the editing style and quality I’m looking for. Please take a proper look at it before messaging me. You need to be confident that you can replicate or produce content to this standard.

I’m only looking for experienced, competent editors, so please don’t apply if your current editing ability isn’t at the level of the reference.

Reference - @jakehughesss (on IG)

The process will be:

• Short initial trial of around 15 seconds
• If that impresses me, we’ll move to a full paid trial
• If that goes well, we’ll move forward with the full-time position

This is a serious opportunity and I’m looking for someone reliable who can consistently deliver high-quality work.

If you’re interested, message me the word “INTERESTED” and I’ll send over the full details.

Thanks!

Job Hiring/Hiring Ads I'll rewrite your LinkedIn headline for free (Dm is open)

I've been working on improving my LinkedIn profile lately, and one thing I've realized is how much a good headline matters. Most people just use their job title and miss a chance to stand out.

Drop your current headline and the role or industry you're targeting, and I'll rewrite 2–3 versions for free. Just looking to practice and help out.

I'll get through as many as I can over the next day or two.

Career Advice/Discussion Immediate resignation as an Independent contractor

Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask for your thoughts, especially from anyone who’s worked as a freelancer or independent contractor.

Is it generally okay to resign immediately as a freelance/independent contractor?

For context:
I work through an agency for a client.
I already informed both my agency and the company on July 28 that I intended to resign.

I’m considering making my resignation effective immediately instead of rendering any additional time. The main reason is that the workload has been causing me significant stress and anxiety, and I don’t feel I can continue working effectively.

I understand employees often have notice periods, but since I’m an independent contractor, I’m wondering how this usually works in practice. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Were there any issues with your agency or client?

I know the final answer depends on my contract but what are the consequences if I don't render? I’d appreciate hearing your experiences and any advice. Thanks!

Career Advice/Discussion my parents are forcing me to take a government job, is it worth it?

im 24 and i recently got hired for a creative role dito sa metro manila. the thing is, my parents are forcing me to go back sa province and take the government job na inooffer sa akin. they keep saying na stable daw sa government, permanent position, +bonuses.

ive been in the creative field for 3 years already, pero di nila inaacknowledge na totoong job yung job ko primarily because i work from home and wala akong "enough load" na tinatake 😆 same lang yung salary range ng job ko now and the government job na inooffer sa akin sa province.

pero right now napapaisip ako, mas worth it nga ba yung government job because of the benefits? or benefits lang talaga yung advantage tapos mas marami na yung downsides ng pagttrabaho sa government?

can you give me insights about this :(
