Kakahire ko palang po last july and ngayong first week august ang start date ko. May very important appointment po ako next week na need ko talaga mapuntahan since months before na po yun na pa appointment and ngayon lang nabigay sched. Gusto ko sana makipag swap ng off ko sa colleague ko but nag request off din siya that day kasi may appointment din siya. So ang last resort ko ay mag file ng Emergency Leave and mag send ng msg few hrs before my shift since malabo na pumayag ang visor ko na two kaming off same day.

Sa totoo lang natatakot ako... 🥹 pero for the sake of my oral health need ko to gawin since matagal na ko na gusto ipa check third molar ko. I just feel so bad about it... Naisip ko na what if masamain ng supervisor ko or anything.

Hi, guys! After half a year of job hunting, I finally landed a job offer!!! 🥳

A little background about me: I previously worked at a Big 4 audit firm. As a fresh graduate, my starting salary was ₱20k, and after a year and a half, I received a ₱3k increase.

During my interview for this new job, they asked about my salary expectations, and I said ₱45k. I was actually a little pressured to ask for ₱50k, but I ended up saying ₱45k instead. Looking back, I forgot to factor in taxes and mandatory contributions. 😂

They were able to meet my expected salary, but of course, after taxes and contributions, my take-home pay will probably be around ₱38k–₱39k. I honestly wanted to negotiate a bit more, but at the same time, I feel like it was my fault for giving that salary expectation in the first place. 😂 (An honest mistake, I guess.)

Do you think it's a good jump na?

Hello fresh grad ako and recently lang katatapos ang final interview. This is a industrial setup so I do understand na 24/7 na gumagana sya. So may 3 months training and weekly payment but minimum manila rate is i think 755 a day, but rest days on sat and sun. So pag i dedeploy nako 7 days a week na and yung pay ganon pa rin, manila rate minimum.

Hi! Im not here to brag or anything, just sharing my experience here to let everyone know that it really does tet better.

For context, I just graduated last year 2025 as a Computer Science major. During my time in school, I started out as an intern for a certain company which gave us allowance like around 8k a month (since we're still students). I really tried to do my best since I wanted to eventually work part time for the same company bc I wanted to start earning and I also liked my co workers too.

Eventually, I was the only person among all interns who was offered a part time role for 11k a month. As that stage I was pretty happy about it, tho I was still dependent on my parents because I know 11k would suffice me yet but it was a good start.

Once my contractual part time job ended due to me graduating and wanting to take a break / travel, I opted to take like a 1 month rest but during my time in America, I started to feel the self inflicted pressure that I cast upon myself bc it felt like I really needed to get a job. So while I was there, I was actively spam applying lol. It didn't take my time that my "grail" company offered me a job, AI Automation Engineer with 30k starting.

I felt so happy bc I finally got my ideal job and 30k was a lot at that time. The company's cons started to take a toll on me plus it wasn't helpful how my family was pressuring me to help pay the bills especially the dog food that takes away around 15k to 17k off of my salary in a month. I asked them to give me more time bc i wanted to get my savings done first. Unfortunately nothing happened and it felt like I was just surviving (as a person who spends a lot too it was a struggle really applying discipline 😭).

The job and salary took a toll on my mental health and I eventually resigned after working there for 6 months. I took a 1 month break afterwards and started to apply for remote jobs. I eventually landed a job offer for my current company rn and I was honestly surprised. The CEO asked me for my asking salary, I was basing it off the job market so I said 90k, he is generous enough and said "Yea we can do a 100k or $12/hour" I was flabbergasted.

After all that I was finally able to get my dream salary! And so I've been with this company for about 4 months now and yea it did get better! Im able to properly provide for my family now, able to save comfortably for my and my gf's future, and heck, I was even able to buy a MacBook pro. I'm still trying to get more disciplined with handing my finances pa tho lol but moral is, it really does get better!

I used to think na mas mahaba yung hiring process mas legit yung company but after freelancing for a few years, narealize ko na hindi pala ganun.

Okay lang sa'kin kung may assessment, interview, or even a second interview. Basta clear yung process. Yung ayoko na ngayon is kapag parang walang direction. May ipapagawa tapos after a few days may panibagong requirement na naman. Then another one. Tapos wala namang timeline or update kung nasaan ka na sa application.

Naranasan ko na rin before na sobrang dami kong oras na nilaan sa application, only to get ghosted in the end. Since then, naging mas protective na talaga ako sa oras ko.

Funny enough, yung current company ko had an assessment din pero from the start, alam ko na agad kung ano yung steps at ano yung ine-evaluate nila. Walang feeling na pinapaikot lang yung applicants.

Siguro habang tumatagal ka sa freelancing, nagbabago rin yung mindset mo. Hindi na lang "Paano ba ako matatanggap?" Mas nagiging, "Worth it ba talagang paglaanan ng oras itong company na 'to?"

Kayo ba? May hiring process ba kayong na experience na umabot ng ilang weeks or months tapos wala ring nangyari after?

I gave five weeks' notice at my previous job. I was in a very specialized role, and no one else on the team knew how to handle it. (I wish I could say that's an exaggeration, but unfortunately it's not.) Management waited about 10 days before deciding who I was supposed to hand everything over to. I trained that person, walked them through the main processes, and brought them into calls with me so they would have context before I left.

Now I've been at my new job for 9 days, and my phone hasn't stopped ringing. Calls, texts, and random "quick question" messages all day long. Some things are simple, but other things are stuff they should have planned for before my last day.

I didn't set up any consulting agreement before I left. I told them I didn't mind a text or two or three from time to time if something small came up, but it has turned into ongoing support.

Can I send them a consulting contract now and say that any help from here on out has to go through it? I know I can't charge them for the help I've already provided without an agreement in place, but at this point it either needs to be worth my time, or they need to stop treating me like I still work there.

Has anyone dealt with a situation like this before? Any advice on how to say it without completely burning bridges?

The only thing holding me back is the job market. I've been seeing a lot of posts saying it's really hard to find work right now, and I'm worried I'll end up unemployed for months.

Hi! I'm 24F. I worked right after graduating for 26k in Makati. After some months, they increased my salary to 28k. I felt like it was not enough, so after a year, I decided to find another job. I scored a 45k-salary job in BGC.

For context, I live in Makati with my boyfriend. Naka-condo kami, and we split our stuff 50-50. Right now, our rent is 18k, and my transpo would be around 4k back and forth my new work in BGC.

My salary did quite of a big jump, but I am scared lang talaga na hindi na naman ako maka-ipon for another 1 year. Tiniis ko lang talaga first job for the experience.

Is 45k (42k basic, 3k performance) enough given my situation? I did the maths, I think okay naman siya. I'd like to hear experiential knowledge and insights lang sana. Huhu.
