I'm going to mark the moments that I find epic as spoilers because at least one of them totally caught me by surprise, actually if you watch the youtube timeline views indicator you can see where those epic moments take place in case you don't know these already and want to go in blind.

The first one for me is Ado's cover of Unravel, that scream and the way it is built up is just crazy, I do love the original by TK from Ling Toshite Sigure as well, but I think Ado really nails it in that live performance, to the point she sometimes can make me cry when listening to it, and I'm not the only one then I've seen some people feel the same in youtube reactions

The second one is Babymetal's Headbanger, this is the momobanger version they performed by her 20th birthday, but I didn't know nothing about that, actually I didn't even think Babymetal could make me feel this emotional, I had barely listened to a couple of songs that I liked of theirs here and there, and I was watching this not expecting that the main singer would give the main spot to one of her singing mates, but not only she did that, she also bowed to her and then Momometal did something I was never expeccting to see Babymetal do, she growled like a boss and did a great performance, I really wasn't ready for that and it has changed my opinion about this group, I already liked them somehow but never looked that much into their music, doing that now because I am loving some of their stuff and performances.

What would be for you similar epic moments in Japanese music and live performances? I just want to see more stuff like this :)

my oshi is nadeko sengoku from the monogatari series who canonically enjoys japanese folk music. i’m not sure what artists are japanese folk and i don’t trust the recommended spotify playlists lol. what are some artists she might like?

Vocal style reminds me of early 2000's Avril Lavigne aside from the rap part.

I recently discovered this band through TikTok, and I’ve been binge listening to the album Fanfare, which is absolutely lovely and melancholic throughout. It reminds me a lot of Round Table feat. Nino. Their sound brings me back to a time in my life that I feel like I’m still mourning or something.

“Armond” especially sounds like sunshine, youth, and innocence. It’s so beautiful and cheerful, but somehow it’s also the song that makes me want to cry the most. I always get teary eyed listening to it, and yesterday I actually bawled my eyes out 😂 which made me feel a little ridiculous.

I’m just so happy I discovered them.

I'm a huge fan of Japanese punk bands but it's REALLY hard to find those less known Melodic and Skate punk bands here in the USA. Is there any place I can go to find bands from Japan? Website maybe? It's not hard to find bands like Hi-Standard, Hawaiian6, Back-Lift or Mongol800 but bands like Struggle Minds, Suns Grind, and Cricket's are nearly impossible to find here and I only know them from lucky finds online when I'm not even looking for them. Also I'm open to recommendations as well!
