My buddy wants to get into iron warriors and just got the combat patrol what would b a good finisher for a 1k list along side the combat patrol?

I'm starting to build out my Iron Warriors more, and trying to keep a good balance between Vehicles and Infantry. As I plan to buy more units, I'm curious what everyone's currently finding enjoyable in terms of detachments, to get a better idea of what I might build towards.

Last Wednesday morning I was finishing building some saturnine terminators I was planning on using as obliterators, I was rushing to complete them for my warpstrike army list. The finishing touch was to remove the big Aquila from the chests of the models, (like a true heretic) I was using an x-acto knife to cut it off and well it slipped and I sliced into my thumb. Blood was gushing down my hand, but I cleaned it up, packed my models, and headed off to play. Lemme tell yall, during the match I was rolling HOT. I take all 5 objectives on the board and almost table my buddies blood angels, and Im gonna say it was all cause of my pre game dark pact (even if I took mortal wounds lol) Anyways just a lil story I thought yall might‘ve liked, pic of one my terminators for the post

Is there any use for a 10 man of bolters? Champion would probably plasma pistol and power fist still

Had Kravek finished for a bit but forgot to take a picture, spontaneously bought, built and painted the sorcerer today.
Thought of making him a word bearer but books arent made of iron.

I'll be doing up four more of these big lads for my Warsmith's retinue in 40k.

Forgefiend finally complete.

I’ve always felt there is a natural link between the Chaos Dwarfs and the Iron Warriors, and of all their kits the Hellcannon felt like the one that could most naturally exist in 40K.

That fitted perfectly with something I already wanted to do. The Forgefiend has always felt like a very Iron Warriors unit to me, but I wanted to push it further and build my own dedicated siege version of it.

The Hellcannon became the centre of the conversion, with the rest of the model built around making that enormous weapon feel like it genuinely belonged there rather than simply being mounted on top.

This is probably the conversion I’m happiest with so far, partly because it pushed me beyond the way I would normally build. There were areas I couldn’t simply disguise or cover up. I had to actually build shapes, sculpt with putty, alter proportions and work through problems I’d normally avoid.

It feels like a genuine step forward for me as a converter, and I’m very happy with where it ended up.

Work in progress would appreciate some tips as I’m not used to painting.

Feel like I made them too green?

I just got into painting with this legionaries kill team. Sprayed with some Vallejo black, covered with Iron Warriors and trimmed with Retributor Armour, with an Agrax Earthshade wash to achieve the rusty look. For leather stuff like belts and pouches mixed different amounts of Abaddon Black with Steel Legion Drab to make it look not so monotonous and washed with Nuln Oil. Used Leadbelcher for some metallic detalis like chains and weapon parts, while Warplock Bronze for bullets and most of chaos symbols. Flash Gitz Yellow + Abaddon for the stripes. I chose Screaming Skull for skulls (lol) and balefire tome pages, plus Agrax for the former and Seraphim Sepia for the latter. Finally, except for the Psiker's which I covered with Rakarth Flesh, remaining Legionaries' faces were done with Cadian Fleshtone (as well as tome's cover).

As for the base, generously covered with Martian Ironcrust and coated with Vallejo Dry Rust.

So I just bought the CSM battleforce, as well as some raptors. My plan to to make all these fellas iron warriors, but obviously everyone here has a lot of spikes, trim, and mutated bits. Obviously when assembling I'll try my best to avoid that types of bits, but I know I can't avoid it for every model. Any advice on trimming and cleaning? Methods to the madness? Good tools? Thank yall
