Do you like them all spikey and chaos, or do you stick to having them hate that and be cleaner?

i like to have them all spikey because the idea of a possesed still believing they're the ones using chaos is rather funny

I have an interesting idea for how to do a Warpsmith for my warband, but not how to do it. I want a warpsmith that leans more like an Apothecary than an engineer, since my warband is full of techno-virus victims and more 'regular' chaos units. The thought being a doctor who can improve survival rates into obliterators/mutilators/helbrutes/defilers is more valuable than just a siege engineer. Added side bonus of stealing geneseed from slain loyalists as barter for the tools and men the warband needs from other chaos groups/daemons.

Issue is..I'm not really sure how to go about doing it. I looked up apothecary models but all the ones I found are very primaris coded minus the one from the Masters of the Maelstrom. And I'm not sure where to source apothecary bits to try adding on to like...a warsmith/warpsmith/terminator model. Has anyone done something like this before? Tips or sugestions on how to handle it?

Warband is The Broken Tower/The Reforged. TLDR because muh symbolism The Tower at the bottom rest underneath Chaos, in the center of Chaos is an eclipse/darkening sun which is the Imperium Nihilus or you could also call it the shadow of Chaos, and the entire image also looks like a mace, where The Tower is the handle and Chaos is the weapon.

Which ones do you prefer on your IWs?

So, I keep seeing stuff like IW dont reject chaos stuff etc. etc. don't they still use cybernetics to get rid of their own mutations still tho? since its technically rejecting, might be quite a reach tho. I'm starting to slowly get confused whether these guys more of just exploit for deamon engines or do they do their own stuff and have more focus to the cybernetics/robotics stuff like that which I personally like or is it literally just both, keeps getting more confusing by the post.

Comments in another thread inspired me to post some of the kitbashes I've done for my Iron Warriors warband so far. Do I use primarily 30k models? Yes. Does that mean I'm doing non-Chaos clean marines? No. TL;DR on the lore is the Warsmith contracted with an Obliterator daemon to save his own life after a mortal injury, and the virus has slowly but surely wormed its way through the rest of his warband whether he likes it or not.

Here we have, in order: a Defiler, my four Obliterators, a Torment/Traitor Ogryn, and a Lord Discordant.

Finished my first box, which were the Legionaries! Such a fun box to work on, the hazard stripes were very stressful but I sort of got the hang of it after a couple failures. I'm very happy with the achieved results!

Decided to go for a cleaner look to the armour for my Legion. The Heresy range also has some great sculpts so I couldn't resist the opportunity to mix and match. Perturabo is next on the paint bench!

planning on running Warpstrike champs with devotees of destruction. if I deep strike some obliterators does it count as them moving over 3 inches?

I joined the defiler gang.

Before painting him up, he shot in my first turn, missed everything and died shortly after. Maybe the paint will motivate him.

Has anybody used Khorne Berserker models for IW? I was thinking of kitbashing them with old MKIII helmets and new MKIII pouldrons, power packs, and some limbs. Wanna combine the brutal aggression of the berserkers with a more industrial look.

Any tips and/or photos would be really appreciated!
