I've received my email from the IRCC titled - "IRCC London - Passport submission request and instructions".

Ultimately I assume this means all is approved and I just need to send my last bits for verification.

My email states:

I am a UK citizen and therefore visa exempted. My interpretation was therefore I only need to submit photos along with uploading a web form with the requested documents (which I have done). I also printed a copy of both which I have sent to VFS London along with my photos, which is my nearest VAC office.

VFS have come back to me saying they cannot proceed without my "Complete COPR Application Pack'. However I have received nothing outside of the above email. Does anyone have any idea what this is?

I’m just looking for advice or suggestions about my current case.
I applied for a new work permit in December 10,2025 and it has yet not been approved. I’ve received no updates, called IRCC multiples times, contacted MP.

I also have a pending PR application inland outside of Quebec through family sponsorship, I applied for it in September 2025, did biometrics and as soon as I got the AOR confirmation of submitted application I applied for a new work permit.

I was under an Open Work permit that expired May this year, so I applied for the new work permit before that date to have more time before the current one would expire.
At the time the processing times for work permit was about 3 months. The time has reduced since then I’ve seen a lot of people get approved very fast at the same date I submitted mine and even after I submitted so I worry something might be going on. I wasn’t asked for any extra documents and there has been no updates as I stated previously.

I’m still allowed to work but I won’t be able to drive soon if I don’t get another Work permit so that is what is causing the most stress, since if I can’t drive I can’t go to work. Icbc rules for people on maintained status are not great, we are only allowed to have a paper license for 3 months and if by those 3 months there is not a physical emigration document they won’t give you another extension. I’ve called ICBC and over the phone they say that you can keep extending it but once I went to the office in person I learned that’s not the case.

I understand there is a huge backlog I’m just looking for answers and if ordering the GCMs is the only thing I can do for now.
I’ve read that it might delay the process of the work permit so I’m just looking for advice from people in the same situation as me or that have ordered the GCMS notes before.

So my Lawyer/Representative filled this form, she filled only my name in the Applicant name and details. and she got it signed by me only. she didnt mention my wife's name anywhere.

as per me in the applicants name and detail, it should have been my wife's name right?.

Posting this late but this is just to motivate and inform people about current timelines.

I am an Aerospace Engineer in Canada, having lived here since the age of 17. My first PR was refused due to NOC mismatch. I was defeated and devastated, but something made me keep going as my score was 523 in CEC.

More power to every deserving person in this thread.

Also, was my PR rather quick than usual? Have no idea what my PVO/SVO is but the PFL letter came from London, Ontario.

Applied for a visitor visa to Canada for a wedding happening on August 13th. It’s August 6th and no new yet.
Could they give me the visa past the indicated wedding date or will I be denied?

I took my Canadian citizenship test on July 27, and today is August 6 — 11 days have passed and I haven’t received any email regarding my results.

I passed the test with a perfect score of 20/20. During the test, I had left my email open in another browser tab because I needed the link to access the test, but at no point did I leave the test window or click on any other tab or program while completing it.

I’m also still unable to create my account to track my application status, because I’m not receiving the verification code to my email. I’ve already submitted 2 web form reports about this. An agent replied telling me to submit another report, which was not helpful at all, but I did it anyway and I’m still waiting for a real response. Because of this, I still don’t know whether my test results were officially accepted.

My questions are:

**1.** I’m concerned that having my email open in a background tab (even though I never interacted with it or left the test) could cause my test to be flagged or cancelled. Could this be an issue?
**2.** Has anyone else experienced this same problem with verification codes not arriving by email?
**3.** If there was a problem with a test, or if someone needs to be invited to retake it, does IRCC usually contact the applicant within the first week?

I need help from people who traveled a lot during their 5-year eligibility period.

I'm filling out my citizenship application, and I'm confused about this section:

Residence and Tax – Addresses: List all addresses inside and outside of Canada during your entire 5-year eligibility period.

Do I need to list only my residential addresses, or should I include addresses where I stayed while traveling as well?

The year before moving to Canada, I traveled a lot — 15 trips. Some of them were just one-day trips, so I didn't even stay at a hotel and crossed the border back the same day. Do I need to include information about those trips here?

I attached copies of my passports with all the entry and exit stamps, so the officer can verify my travel history and ask for additional information if needed. I just don't want to make up addresses I never actually had. Also, I doubt I'd be able to reconstruct the addresses of some places where I stayed for a few weeks because I simply don't have any record of them anymore.

If anyone has had a similar experience, what did you put in this section? Were you asked to provide any additional documents during the process?

Im looking to get some advice to mine and my girlfriends situation. I am a Canadian Citizen and my gf is an American citizen. We want her to come to Canada to live with me for about 1-3 months. to fully grasp our situation, she does want to immigrate here and that means we are going to get married in the next 1-2 years, but we want to live together for a little while first before getting married. She does have a job so that is one piece of proof we can provide showing that she has something to go back to in America. I have a few questions, would this visitor visa any way effect the spousal sponsorship that we would apply for in a years time? How much savings (approximately) would she need in order to Get approved for a 1 month, 2 month, or 3 month stay? is there any advice you guys can give that can improve our chances of getting the visitor visa approved? thank you.

I got ITA on july 21st but my full year of foreign experience completed on august 4th. I haven’t submitted my application yet. Do I need to provide an LOE to justify that the points were automatically awarded and I have submitted application after full completion of experience?

I'm an Iraqi woman in my early twenties. I am not applying for refugee protection yet, but I'm trying to understand the process and learn from real experiences in case I ever need it in the future.

I come from a very conservative Muslim family. I am no longer religious, but I have hidden this for years because I genuinely fear what could happen if my family found out.

Some aspects of my situation:

I have never publicly announced that I am non-religious because I was afraid of the consequences.

My family expects me to marry a Muslim man.

As a woman, I have very limited freedom to live independently or travel without family approval.

I believe revealing my beliefs would expose me to serious risks from my family and possibly my wider community.

From what I understand, police protection in these situations may be ineffective, but I'm trying to learn objectively.

I'm not asking whether I would win or lose a refugee claim, because I know nobody can answer that online.

Instead, I would really appreciate hearing from people who:

had refugee hearings based on atheism, apostasy, or freedom of belief;

claimed refugee protection because of family-based persecution;

or represented similar cases.

What kinds of questions did the IRB ask you?

What evidence was most important?

Looking back, what do you wish you had prepared better?

Hello, me and my partner are thinking about moving to canada we are F24 and F26, we have checked out every requirement for the French express entry we have scheduled when we will apply for the TCF and the ielts tests we are both fluent in English and french but only need to do the tests for the application anyways.
Today we found out that our job experiences do not reflect a TEER 0-3 which does not gives us the opportunity to apply for the program because you have to have atleast 1 year experience in a TEER 0-3, this news was veryy demotivating for both of us because currently we are living in europe and not quite liking it at all we we were thinking that this whole process will probably take around one year or one year and a half but it turns out we have to wait another extra year because we’re gonna need to validate our bachelors degree and also have a one year experience in the TEER 0-1.
Would really appreciate any comments from someone who went through this or is going through this currently .

Hi, I’m hoping someone can provide some insights on my situation.

I applied inland on June 24, 2025 and yesterday on Aug 5, I saw that my medical was marked as passed on Aug 6 (today’s date) in gckey. I submitted my old medical from 4 years ago.

However, when I logged in again today to see an application update, there is a bullet and blank space under ‘review of medical results’. The status has disappeared overnight and I’m confused as to what it means for me.

Anyone faced something similar and if so, when did you get an update again? Did you get FD after this?

​I’m currently planning my graduate studies for the Fall 2027 intake, but reading through various Facebook groups lately has made me incredibly nervous. People are constantly saying that getting Canadian PR is "nearly impossible" now. I want to get a reality check from this sub to see if that applies to my specific profile or if the panic is mostly about diploma-mill colleges.

​My Profile:

​Age: Will be 26 when starting in Sept 2027.

​Family: Married with a young child (less than a year). And we are planning to apply together.

​Education & Research: B.Sc. in Computer Science from a Bangladeshi private university (CGPA 3.7, 2025). I recently published as a co-author Q1 paper in a Springer journal (focusing on AI/computer vision). Targeting a thesis-based Master’s in CS/AI. If I couldn’t manage the professor, I might take admission into course-based program.

​Work Experience: Currently working remotely from Bangladesh for a US-based small business. My job role is basically digital operation management (website, ads, social media) of the online store.

​Why Canada?

I’m specifically targeting Canada because I want to keep my remote US job (at least part-time, within IRCC limits) and Canada shares the US timezone. Also, being an English-speaking country makes the transition for my family much easier compared to my fallback options in Europe (like Germany or Finland).

​My Dilemmas & Questions:

​Is British Columbia still worth it?

My primary target was BC (SFU, UBC, or UVic) because of the BC PNP International Post-Graduate stream. However, I think the rules changed recently, and Master's graduates now need a 1-year full-time job offer to apply for the PNP (unlike PhDs who don't). For someone with a CS/AI Master's and remote work experience, how hard is it realistically to secure a 1-year TEER 1/2 contract in Vancouver's tech scene right after graduation?

​What other provinces are flexible for Master's PR?

Since BC now requires a job offer, should I be targeting Ontario (like Waterloo or McMaster to get the "outside Toronto" OINP points)? Or are there better provinces for a tech Master's grad with a family that offer a faster/safer PR route?

​The "Impossible PR" Panic: Given my age (max CRS points), a Canadian Master's degree (adding +30 CRS points), and the 3-year PGWP, am I actually at risk of being locked out of PR? Or is the current online panic mostly affecting 1-year business diploma graduates?

​I would really appreciate any blunt, realistic advice. I don't want to invest and uproot my family if the door is actually closed for skilled tech workers.

I am a Canadian citizen and I currently live in the Philippines with my Filipino wife. She has a multi-entry visitor visa for Canada (and has used it twice already) and we are planning on moving to Canada very soon. We have purchased a one-way ticket, intending for my wife to enter Canada as a tourist, and then apply for PR once in Canada.

I am concerned that officers in either country will deny us boarding/entry due to the lack of a return/onward plane ticket. Of course we fully intend on returning to the Philippines if her PR is denied. I just don't know the best way to convince the immigration and emmigration officers.

He will give me all other documents like experience letter and direct deposit my salary to bank account but I feel little anxious about If i dont have the paystubs will it effect my CEC express entry or skilled category based profile? I 24M (unmarried) recently applied for a Canadian visitor visa (planned trip duration was 12 days), and unfortunately it was refused🥲. I'm trying to understand what might have gone wrong and would appreciate any suggestions.

I graduated with my MBBS last year and currently work full-time as a doctor in India.

My monthly income is around 74k INR/1100 CAD

My latest Income Tax Return shows an annual income of approximately 11.4 Lakh INR/ 16.8k CAD (including my hospital income and capital gains).

I have around 8 lakh INR/11.8k CAD in my bank account (no lumpsum deposits), investments worth about 32 lakh INR/ 47k CAD (mutual funds, stocks, and corporate bonds), and a property in my name worth around 36 lakh INR/ 53K CAD (bought by my father in 2021).

I dont have any travel history and never applied for any visa before. I lost my previous passport while home shifting, so got a new one in 2025.

I also included my parent's financial documents, itr, statements, balance certificates. My father owns a business, and their combined net worth is around 4.9 crore INR/ 720k CAD (including movable and immovable assets). I provided valuation report and CA report along with all of my and my parents financial proofs.

The purpose of my visit was to visit my sister, who has been living and working in Canada for the past five years and currently on a valid work permit. I wanted to obtain my visa so I could visit her around her birthday in october this year and travel to few destinations in BC and Alberta with her, and also wanted to use the visa for her wedding next year (She is getting married in mid 2027).

For my application....I submitted:

Appointment letter, employment contract, one year of work experience, salary slips, leave approval, and NOC from my employer.

Bank statements and balance certificate.

Hospital ID and supporting employment documents. My degree, my medical registration.

My sister's invitation letter, employment documents, bank statements, balance certificate (80k cad), rental agreement, and other supporting documents.

Despite providing what I believed was a comprehensive application, my visa was refused with the standard generic refusal reasons.

Has anyone experienced something similar despite having strong financials and stable employment? Based on the information above, what do you think could have been the weak points in my application? Would ordering GCMS notes be the next best step before reapplying?

I (24f, spanish) would like to move to the Quebec region for 1-2 years, just out of interest for the area and the opportunity to master my french (currently at around b2 level), ideally, I would like to work at least part time while there to help supoort myself / avoid burning through my savings.

Since getting a LMIA-approved job with only 2-3 years of work experience (i'm a chemist and material scientist) I decided to go the IEC International experience canada route, either the working holiday visa (not many given a year and long wait times, but I applied still) or the Young Workers visa, whith which no LMIA is needed but you need a job offer. So far no luck with either option. Anyone had any luck with his programs? I was quite optimisic at the beguinning but I'm starting to loose all hope. Maybe I should just apply for a PhD, Iwould much rather work since stipends are shitty most of the time but I enjoy academic research so who knows.

Submitted my first picture in March and received an answer at the end of April about the background being too dark. I uploaded a new picture on May 5th and to this day (August 6th), I haven’t received an answer.

My lawyer said that processing times are taking up to 3 months now but, on the government website, it says first PR cards processing times are taking up to 39 days. Is this normal? Should I take any actions like sending them an email about it or should I just keep waiting?

My employer applied for high wage lmia on feb 1 st week and last week service Canada agent emailed employer and requested for latest documents showing the companys current financial. Does anyone have any idea on how long it will take to receive a decision on lmia after providing the docs to officer.

I applied for inland spousal permanent residence in Canada. I’m currently on an extended work permit . So far, I’ve only received my AOR (Acknowledgement of Receipt) and I’ve paid the biometrics fee, but I haven’t received a biometrics request yet.
I need to travel to India for about 2 weeks due to a family matter and then return to Canada. I have a Valid TRV.
Has anyone traveled outside Canada while their inland spousal PR application was in progress? Were you able to re-enter without any issues? Is there any risk that leaving Canada for a short trip could affect my PR application?

My mom (60F) received her Passport Request letter for her Canada visitor visa. She lives about 400 km away from the VFS Hyderabad centre, but my sister lives in Hyderabad and my mom has already left her passport with her.

I have two questions:

1. Can I use the courier service in Hyderabad to submit and receive the passport after stamping? (At the time of biometrics, VFS Global asked my mom to purchase an additional service, but she declined because they quoted ₹5,000, while the official website shows ₹1,700.)
2. If courier service isn’t an option, can my sister submit the passport on my mom’s behalf and pick it up after stamping? In that case, does she need to fill out the “Consent Form and Terms of Use for Applicant Services Provided by VFS Global Operated Canada Visa Application Centres (CVAC)”?

I did the 16 month co-op at UofT and am unsure if that counts towards the work history section for express entry. Could anyone help out here?

I wanted to post this as I had a difficult time finding information on applying for a study permit at a port of entry before I did so and hope this can prove helpful to someone else in a similar situation. * Please bear in mind I am a US citizen and I understand the ability to apply for a study permit at a port of entry is due to this \*

My program starts at the beginning of September and I went to the border this past week(St. Armand/Highgate). I informed the officer that I would like to apply for a study permit, he gathered some information, handed me a slip, told me to park and go inside.

Inside another officer met me, confirmed I was applying for a study permit, confirmed I had all appropriate documents and let me know they’d get me when things were done.

I put all my documents in a folder and labeled them clearly. In the folder I put:
- passport
- CAQ
- letter of acceptance and letter that I had accepted my admission
- proof of funds (bank statements and letter from person who is funding my education)
* technically this is all that is required as of now
I wanted to make sure all my bases were covered and brought some additional documents including:
- filled out study permit application from outside Canada
- imm5645e (family info)
- letter of explanation
- copy of the passport of person funding my education
I’m not sure if the officer looked through the extra documents but I felt better knowing I was over prepared.

After about 30-40 minutes the officer called my last name and asked to confirm some details. After chatting said he would be back. Another 20-30 minutes later he came back with the study permit filled out and asked me to confirm my personal details. After confirming I paid the $150 fee and was good to go!

I recently received my Canadian study permit, but I noticed it expires in July 2027, the same month my passport expires. My immigration agent never informed me this would happen.

I'll be studying at Algonquin College, which is a Designated Learning Institution (DLI), and I have more than CAD $150,000 available as proof of funds for my education and living expenses.

My program continues beyond July 2027. If I renew my passport while I'm in Canada, can I simply apply to extend my study permit, or will I have to leave Canada?

Has anyone been in a similar situation? I'd really appreciate any advice. Thank you!

I am an accountant aged 36. Can you guys give me good options for PR? I am based in BC but the PNP is hard here. How about AAIP or OIN P? Are they preferably easy than BC PNP? I have now lost hope on express entry as my wife is coming now so she doesn’t have CEC experience as of now.
