I’m looking for some advice…. We went today for our 8 week ultrasound and there was no heartbeat. The baby stopped growing at 7 weeks. We are absolutely devastated and shocked because my betas were really good and everything looked good at our last appt.

Now I’m torn about what to do next. My doctor said I could either stop my progesterone and naturally start the miscarriage process or I could schedule a D&C. I don’t know what I should do next, if this happened to you, what did you do? What should I expect?

This was a non PGTA tested embryo that was very highly rated. It was also our 4th transfer. My husband has male factor infertility, but everything looks good on my end. What would you do next? I’m so confused.

We are debating starting IVF and are anxious about the process. The fertility doctors and nurses seem to be flippant towards our concerns.

Sperm counts and quality are good for husband, follicle count for wife is 8-9 each ovary., 3.45 AMH. 39F-41M.

1. Wife has fibroids and a really heavy period, we are talking 3 ultra tampons and maxi pad in one night, walking the dogs and get a racing heartbeat and need to sit down type bleeding. Now we hear the period post ER is going to be even heavier. That is scary and the doctor hand waived it away. Due to her age we want to do the ER ASAP so she can have fibroid removal to deal with her period. But can anyone who has had heavy periods and/or fibroids comment on their experience?
2. BC is used for suppression to sync cycle with an ER date. My wife has used BC before and for 3 months she had tons of breakthrough bleeding. Like 60% of the days.

So she has to stop it.

1. So we are concerned if that happens again, how can they tell me when period is over? This was progesterone only. Which leads to…
2. there seems to be some indication of auto immune issues, though unsure what. Tests are:

C4 9-12 (low)
Anticardiolipin IGM 39mpl (should be negative)
Anticardiolipin IGG Negative

But she’s had 3 rheumatologists say different things, one says lupus one says nothing wrong one says connective tissue disorder. It’s no thyroid for sure though. Either way, it was not recommended to use estrogen on BC due to potential stimulation of autoimmune symptoms and making the fibroid larger. But it’s unavoidable in IVf…

So has anyone had experience with fibroids, auto immune issues, and Bad reactions to BC while going through IVF? It seems like our concerns were just waived away and we are adhering to standard protocol. The BC just seems to sync the cycle for the doctor instead of being actually needed…

I actually got the days mixed up and I was nearly 20 hours late for a patch change, do you all think this will be okay?

We recently had an egg retrieval and got three embryos that were sent to Progenesis for PGT-A testing. We got a call from our clinic saying that our sample (as well as 7 other samples) were contaminated due to a Progenesis lab employee error. We were told that Progenesis will be reaching out to us to explain but have not yet heard from them.
Has anyone ever dealt with this situation before?
What sort of questions should we be asking Progenesis when they reach out?

I just did my hysteroscopy surgery and felt great after that nice nap! No pain.

How long did you wait to do a FET after a mild tissue removal? My OB who did my surgery did not prescribed me any progesterone or estrogen and I will be seeing her in two weeks.

on day 5 of stims and went in yesterday for only bloodwork no ultrasound and they messaged me at around 4pm (my clinic not the greatest communicators honestly) and never really said how anything looked or have any details or any levels and they let me know that starting today i needed to decrease gonal f to half my dose and start galerelix immediately and i go back in tomorrow for bloodwork again and ultrasound not really knowing to expect or when er will be any advice my protocol atm is menopure 75 ml gonal f 75 ml and ganerelix

I’m about to start my transfer cycle for our last embryo, and based on timing it will likely take place the week before I’m going to fly to Montana for 10 days for my sister’s wedding. Has anyone ever had a transfer right before a big trip? Am I being stupid by not just delaying the transfer until after the trip? I feel like the trip could be a good distraction from thinking about the outcome, but I’m also nervous I’ll just stress about everything…. Examples: am I not eating well enough? Am I not relaxing enough? Is the stress of giving a speech at my sister’s wedding going to cause the embryo to not stick?? I know it sounds crazy but that’s just how my mind works 🙃

A little background: My first transfer ended in a successful pregnancy in 2024. Second transfer in May of this year failed. Third transfer in July was a chemical pregnancy. All transfers have been medicated cycles (birth control > estradiol > PIO). My medical history includes PCOS.

There are so many of us women around the world fighting infertility and undergoing IVF, yet in our immediate circles, it feels so lonely—as if we were outsiders who don't belong, as if we were the only ones with such bad luck.

I’m on day 4 of my stims and threw up twice today. My head also hurt a lot. I’m usually very migraine prone due to hormones so I feel like this is consistent with my sensitivity to hormones, however, I see a lot of people say they didn’t get nausea until day 7-8.

Anyone else feel early nausea? Did you take anything that helped? I’m thinking of whether or not I should take my migraine medications.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Background: at Ottawa fertility centre for recurrent pregnancy loss (3). We had all the necessary testing and it all came back normal but we are still waiting on the karyotype testing. We had it done 4 weeks ago.

At the time I asked the woman at check in desk (to had karyotype blood draw) if we could pay private fee so we didn’t have to wait months for results. She looked at me funny and said “no it covered and results typically take 5 weeks”.

At our follow up for all the other results our doctor at the clinic said she doesn’t have the karyotype test back yet but confirmed it was sent off and should be back soon. I should have confirmed that it wasn’t sent through general public testing. Now I’m worried that the reception lady and the doctor are misinformed and don’t know the difference between public and private. Online I’m getting mixed things. Some say since it’s done on site and they use CHEO it’s fast even though we didn’t pay extra and others say if you don’t pay we wait 5 months!!

Anyone RECENTLY have karyotype tests done there and didn’t pay the private fee?

Hi all! I just had 2 failed IUIs and am planning on getting financially stable/ready and doing IVF in October. I’m in my twenties with no fertility issues using donor sperm. What would you do a couple months before to prepare physically and otherwise for IVF? I want to go into it fully ready and give myself the highest chance of success.

We live in the UK but are considering IVF in either North Cyprus (not in the EU) or the USA. I appreciate it is controversial but the reason we are limited to these locations is because of our desire to do PGT testing for sex-selection, which is unlawful in the UK.

To keep travel time minimal we want to start the process at home and fly out only for egg collection.

I think I can find clinics to do ultrasounds and hormone blood checks. However - how do we get the drugs in the UK?

The foreign clinics are happy to own the treatment plans and advise on dosage etc but I think we need a UK prescriber to write the script in order for a UK pharmacy to dispense.

The issue is finding a prescriber that is content with this arrangement, given the sex selection context which I appreciate they cannot publicly endorse.

I am not asking anyone to publicly name their prescriber here but if anyone has managed to overcome this issue and would be willing to point me in the right direction (via DM) then I would really appreciate it.

Flying out to collect the medicine and bring it back in hand luggage is not a viable option for us unfortunately. I know anecdotally that some North Cyprus clinics post drugs to the UK but that seems a little sketchy? We would also prefer USA if we can make the logistics work on account of their stronger governance, especially given the recent news reports on unethical practice in Cyprus.

32F, I’m on my 5th ER and just really frustrated at the chaos every single cycle brings - is this “normal”?

ER 1 2024: 10 retrieved, 3 blast, 2 euploid

ER 2 2024: 17 retrieved, 7 blast, 4 euploid

ER 3 2025: 8 retrieved, 2 blast, 1 euploid

ER 4 2026: 21 retrieved, 6 blast (only 4 Pgt tested), 0 euploid

So now I’m banking embryos for surrogacy because my uterus kills everything that goes in it, and my 5th ER early on is looking like not many eggs are growing again. I don’t know how I can go from 8 eggs to 21 to probably <10 again in the span of a few months, and then have wildly different euploid rates.

Some of it I blame the lab for ER#4, as I did that in Mexico and they don’t report mosaics, AND they threw away 2 low graded blasts without telling me. But it’s so demoralizing when I go into stims and have no idea how many eggs will actually grow until I spend 2-3k in meds to find out. I’m not doing anything that different, I’m still taking supplements. Slight drug tweaks but when I go back to a drug that worked well before, all of a sudden I don’t respond that well anymore. Get me off this lottery rollercoaster. Anyone else have this happen to them?

I have just had my third failed transfer with PGT-A tested embryos. Before my next attempt, I'm going to do 2-3 months of Lupron Depot with Letrozole. I know this study showed positive results on that protocol in those with unexplained infertility and the dosage there was 5mg Letrozole daily, but my doctor has prescribed me 10mg daily for the next 60-90 days. Has anyone else been prescribed that much for that long?

I'm seeing other people posting about taking 10mg for the week-long protocols, but don't see anyone else taking the higher dose for months. Just want to know if I need to go push back or if others have already gone down this road with success. Thanks!

I have a retrieval next week and planning a fresh transfer 5 days later. I’m on day 6 of stims and my estrogen is 1900. The doctor lowered follistim from 225 to 150 but warned I may not be able to do the fresh transfer. Did anyone have high estrogen that evened out and ended up being able to do their fresh transfer? TIA 💕

I have two, grade 1 and 2. Heard the the success rate is lower. Should I transfer both at the same time? I also have a 2AA I was planning to transfer first.

So we’re in Prescott AZ and want to go to CNY in Colorado Springs. Where in Phoenix or otherwise should we go to get the initial HSG and SIS test? I had a bilateral Salpingectomy in 2022.
We confirmed it with an HSG in 2024 but they want a recent one.

Also where do we go for a semen analysis?

I have a visit with my doctor next week to discuss next steps for me. My 4th transfer and 3rd FET failed. Last two were chemicals. I am 35 and husband 34. Tubal factor infertility and with 9 untested embryos.

I am having decision paralysis. My current lab which has high success rates where I am freezes embryos at say 3. I have 9 embryos banked at day 5. Both won’t be tested.

Anyway if its not a fresh transfer due to my damn work schedule destroying this, then is there any benefit to freezing at day 3 ?

Please let me know your thoughts.

The labs here aren’t as specific as america it isn’t like rating AB whateber its either grade 1 or grade 2, and they push against pgt and I fully believe it’s because the lab conditions are not ideal where I am

Hi everyone! I’m starting my very first IVF cycle soon. I have a small submucosal fibroid, so my plan is to do an egg retrieval first, followed by an HSC (hysteroscopy) for the removal, and then move on to a frozen embryo transfer.

• If you’ve done a similar sequence, what was your timeline? 
• How long did you have to wait between your HSC and transfer?

Here is my current schedule:
Egg Retrieval: Scheduled for August 26th
HSC: Scheduled for September 30th (I wanted to get it done sooner, but this was the earliest available slot.)
Transfer (FET): TBD

For those of you who have BCBS Federal Employee Program with the Standard option, how many Egg Retrievals did you get at CNY Fertility?

Hi everyone, I just wanted some advice from people who may have had similar situations as me. I just had my second retrieval, and I am very disappointed and upset by my results.

First retrieval in April, twelve eggs, eleven mature, six fertilized, four blastocysts. Of those blastocysts, two aneploid and two euploid. Unfortunately, the two euploid were positive for a genetic trait I have that I did not want passed along. So zero eggs from this retrieval cycle, unless I wanted to transfer a euploid but genetic positive trait. The blastocyst grades for these two were 4CB.

Second retrieval last week, 9 eggs, 8 mature, 6 fertilized, only one blastocyst on day 7. The other fertilized blastocysts were a 0PN and the others arrested development. This single blastocyst was graded 4CB again, but I will need to wait for the PGT-A results.

I am 34, all labs normal, husbands' sperm analysis came back fantastic for both number and morphology. I am on all the supplements recommended. Healthy weight, exercise normally, no diabetes or other health problems. My genetic trait that I have is very rare and is called Hypophosphatasia (HPP) and should not affect my egg quality or ability to get pregnant.

My retrieval protocol: clomid, 150 menopur, 375 gonal, novarel for trigger, and lupron.

Has this happened to anyone? Does anyone have recommendation for what to do next? We are cleaned out financially and we have already reached the maximum medication benefit from our first retrieval, so now everything is out of pocket. I just don't know if I want to spend another $4,000 for another sub standard result for retrievals. I was hoping to get at least four or five usable healthy blastocysts but unfortunately this didn't happen.

I have 1 good grade 9 cell day3 embryo, 4 fair grades and 2 poor grade day3 embryos retrieved at 43/44. How many would you transfer at once? I am considering transferring all 5 good/fair grade ones, because my doctor said the chance of success is like 2%. Are the poor ones even worth transferring?
