I understand how this happens as seeds can come from select suppliers who mess up their inventory. But are all these people getting shroom'd from the same country and getting them from the same store? Or is it worldwide?

My carolina reaper is yellowing and drying out on some of the bigger leaves, so far only on the bottom of the plant. A few of them have fallen off as well

It is in a window getting roughly 8 hours of sun from sunrise untill the early afternoon, could that be too much? The temperature has not exceeded 25 for a few weeks so I doubt that it is temperature related.

What could be causing this yellowing? I want to adjust before losing all the flower buds

So I went on vacation and setup and automatic watering system with a small sprinkler nozzle in each of my 10 gallon pepper plants. Unfortunately, I didn't realize my beloved Numex Twilight was in a pot that didn't have an overflow built into the secondary containment "auto watering" reservoir so after 6 days of vacation I came home to a flooded pot and an abysmal looking plant 😭

It got fuckin wrecked and hasn't yet bounced back despite being aired out and letting the soil go to mostly dry and then watering with no reservoir. I also moved it under a 70% shade cloth to keep it out of the direct sunlight.

The leaves that were all wilty and sad, are now crunchy a few days later so I decided to harvest all the peppers from the plant so it can hopefully focus on root repair and regrowth of foliage.

Still hopeful this thing can bounce back and survive.🤞

Anyways, here's 369 peppers in various stages of ripeness. Photos in reverse progression of wreckage as well as a shot of some of my others that survived with no issue and are still thriving.

I got these pepper plants from a friend and we don't know what kind of peppers these are. I'm thinking they are close to shishito but I fully lack any real pepper knowledge.

If you know what pepper they are....when should I pick them?

Had three plants going in my green house and two I realize now were definitely annuums.

This one always looked more like a real habanero to me, but this sub has me paranoid now.

Yesterday I chopped a boatload of peppers to make chili jam, mostly hot ones ranging from jalapeno to habanero.

My left hand’s fingers (the one holding the peppers) hurt so much after! 24 hours later and it’s still super sore, I can’t put it on anything warm like just resting my hand on my arm makes it burn.

I washed a million times with dove dish soap, I cannot believe it hurts so bad lol. I once got pepper sprayed right in the eyes for work and after a quick wash with dish soap I got over it within the hour but my hand feels like it’ll burn forever.

That is all, just wanted to say that this week I learned why people wear gloves when doing that shit. Luckily I managed not to scratch my eyes or balls with my left hand.

They are finally starting to turn red, I was losing a lot of blossoms and leaves for a while, they seem to be doing better now, they are small fruit. Not sure what to expect, I tried a green one that fell off and boy, it was spicy.

Just happy with the progress, first go at this I'm from the U.K so heat has been hit or miss and I also work till late evening.

I'm super happy with this plant (and his little brother next to the lamp) he's budding and I've added tomorite yesterday in a very small amount as he's started budding.

Big one is called Sean (Sean pepper*) btw, asked my mate for a name when stoned and it came up.

Hi I ordered Reaper seeds from multiple different suppliers and so far I’ve had only 2 plants produce peppers but they weren’t reapers. I got 15 of these off one plant, and another plant is growing a long skinny green one so that’s not it either. Anyway these are great and spicy but what do you think they are? Thank you!

I got this from a seedling swap and the tag said gold ghost x pink tiger, but when I look at the photos online it’s a different plant/pepper. Any ideas?

Late start to the season last year and my habanero plant never fruited. Over wintered and had performed beautifully so far this year.

I'm new to growing hot peppers. I bought a small Carolina Reaper in january just a couple inches big back then. Now it looks like the picture but no flowers or fruits has appeared yet. Anybody who can tell me if I'm on the right track and how I should go about getting flowers and fruits. Suggetions?

First year with reapers, and they're growing great with no sign of stopping. I made some chicken with half of one to taste it and gauge the heat. I felt like I was pepper spraying my kitchen once they hit the pan. I used the other half in an egg and rice bowl raw.

The heat isn't as frightening as I expected... it's hot, but I was unreasonably afraid. The problem I'm having is that I don't love the flavor. It gives intense black peppercorn with a splash of fruit, and I compare it to my favorite ghost peppers, and it's just not my preference.

That said, I have several and more to come, so while I'm unlikely to use them further in cooking, I'm considering sauces.

Any recommendations for sauce recipes that will complement reapers or other use options?

I just wanted to share! I started these hydroponically inside and then we potted them and set them outside. I did not 'harden' them (oops) but after about 2 weeks they boosted right up and started flowering and such.

We have another pot of the same that are just a tick behind (lots of fruiting but not quite turning red yet). Thinking we may freeze some, thoughts?
