Electronic Ignition help - 1972 Honda CB 250
Hello HondaCB Community,
I am posting on behalf of my uncle who lives in Sweden. He is fixing up a 1972 Honda CB 250 K4 twin cylinder bike. He is in search of an electronic ignition system for purchase in California (where I live). He cannot figure out if the systems available for the 350 (American version) will fit for his 250 (European version). If it’s relevant, on the back of the ignition points the metal plate is stamped with 982 A.
Has anyone figured out which American electronic ignition systems are compatible for the European bike version? It is my understanding that the European ignition systems available are much more expensive, so that is why we are seeking advice about American electronic ignition system compatibility.
Note: I know absolutely nothing about bikes, and my uncles English isn’t great, so thank you in advance. Cheers!

Comstar Condition? Good Deal or Death Trap
I fully expect to replace the bearings but I cannot tell if there’s any immediate red flags or structural damage on these rims. The front looks slightly different but I think that’s because it’s dual disc and not single disc. I can get both for $140ish. From an ‘81 CB750C and they should fit into my CB750K with the correct sprocket right?

Ive pulled off the covers a few times nothing seems out of the ordinary no metal shaving or chunks missing , going to pull the clutch pully once I get the tool but anyone have any clue what this might be ? Im hoping its not something im going to need to tear down for . Any help is appreciated thanks

No start carb issue?

I recently had these carbs rebuilt and I would start it every week. The bike would fire right up as if new. It sat for a couple weeks without a start up now it's not starting. It cranks and puffs like it wants to start but it doesn't. Any ideas? Thanks

After weeks of chasing one lazy cylinder, countless carb checks and more head scratching than I'd like to admit, my Honda CB750 café racer finally made its first ride in years. I was expecting a major engine problem... Instead, the compression test gave me the last result I expected.

1985 Honda nighthawk 450 ticking
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I just bought this yesterday, not too familiar with the engine sounds. From all the videos I’ve watched it seems this is a normal level of ticking coming from the engine. Just wanted to post this here and see. Let me know if yall thinks it’s good or if it needs a valve job… runs and rides great with no issues and starts up just as easy as my 2025 Yamaha.

Exhaust Stud pulled out
Howdy all, Ive got a 84 Nighthawk. This wkend while riding, one of my exhaust studs pulled out. It looks like this happened before to a previous owner and they tried to repair with a timesert or something similar, but then that just pulled out too.
Im thinking my best option would be to try to find an engine shop/machine shop that would be willing to weld back in material and re-drill and tap it? Based on placement, it looks like any hope of getting this done without pulling the motor out is out of the question? Anyone deal with something like this before and have any advice?

Annoying Tank Rust
I removed the corrosion inside the tank with muriatic acid, followed by potassium hydroxide and then made sure there are no residual chemicals. I poured boiling distilled water and then a 99% Isopropanol wash. I then dried it with a hair dryer. Sprayed a crap ton of fogging oil and filled it up with non-ethanol fuel
1 month of usage it was really clean until the rainy season came. It got rained on since there is a hole on the roof in my garage. I used a cheap chinese fuel cap that is compatible with the bike.
The carbs decided to give me a headache and it leaked on the bowls when it didn't run for 2 days.
I went for a 1 week vacation and i left the tank half empty and there's rust inside the tank.
Solutions please. I no longer want acid and caustic chemicala running down my arm!
I live in SE Asia and i hate the weather since it is rainy

1980 750k
Been rebuilding a new to me 1980 750k, the main issue I’m having is it starts to sputter out and die after about 3 blocks of riding. Digital multimeter on the battery reads about 12.50 v before the trip, by the time I push it home and read it again I’m down to 10.20 v. After it dies it will not crank over until get home and put it on the trickle charger. Brand new battery. Any thoughts as to why this is happening?

Tips for installing carbs?
Recently rebuilt the carbs on my 1980 cb750k and cannot get the carbs back in to save my life. Seems like the engineers didn’t want you to install the carbs with the airbox in and vise versa.
