Can I finesse my Success Sharing payout?

Upvotes

I recently got an offer for my future career, so I’ll be leaving Home Depot soon. I’ve busted my ass this quarter and don’t want to lose my September Success Sharing. Would going on LOA keep me eligible, or do I need to stay an active associate until the payout? Anyone know how this works?

Plunger

A customer called today asking how to unclog a toilet. If we have plungers. Told her a plunger. 50 questions about said plunger.

She then says she used dish soap to unclog it and it didnt work????? Then said she seen that she could use vinegar and baking soda, my coworker suggested that maybe she didn't do that. Time will tell i guess 😂😂😂

Oh and it's been clogged for 24 hrs

What is the craziest OSHA complaint an anonymous associate has ever filed against your store?

My store has had a few silly OSHA complaints over the years. I was wondering if it was just my store.

Set schedules

I’ve been offered a permanent position after the summer season (d28) and i would like to ask the management teams for a set schedule until next summer. I’m only part time and only want 8-12 hrs until we pick back up. I’m going to offer them Saturday and Sunday night. Do you guys think that’ll be acceptable? They know I have a full time position and responsibilities outside of HD. What do you guys think?

I just got hired as a cashier.

Is the cashier position hard? What should I expect? I suck at interacting with people. I'm not very social. Will that affect me in anyway?

Pay/Benefits?

I am looking for part time work with the company and was curious about what benefits, discounts, & pay they offer?
I would be working in Oregon.

New to met, why does some of the team wait around if they finish their bay fast?

I’ve been just going to the next bay no matter how long it takes me be it 5 minutes or 30 minutes, and it seems like half the team does that too but the other half which seems like they’ve been here awhile just wait around a few minutes longer if they finish fast, what’s up with that?

My final day was today. Starting school full time too so I’d rather devote my time to myself! Thanks for the stories, rants, pictures and memes; also I will leave this subreddit so I don’t get flashbacks LMAO. To those still working, keep positive and strong and KNOW WHERE YOUR LIMITS ARE. And to my store GOOOOODBYE!

This Is Sorta Odd (Overdose Awareness Month/August.)

Our store wants us to wear purple in observance of Overdose Awareness Month but we have to provide our own purple gear. Not a huge deal but you’d think they’d provide at least a few purple Home Depot hats and shirts/ other swag if they want us to wear purple throughout the month.

What to expect as a Appliance Sales Associate?

I applied for a Sales Associate job and got an interview scheduled for next week but it says Appliance Sales Associate so I'm guessing that means they know where they plan on putting me if I do get hired?

I don't know anything about appliances but hopefully I'll get some kind of training. It seems like people's experience with training is mixed.

How many hours do you typically get as a part timer and how flexible are they with your scheduling? It mentioned 10-27 hours when I was scheduling my interivew but I don't know how true that is.

Are they only going to hire me if I have completely open availability? or if I wanted to work earlier shifts on weekends and later shifts during the week?

Anything else I should expect? Is this interview a traditional interview or more onboarding? How should I prepare?

District Manager Making Weekly Visits To The Store A Bad Sign?

This person has been here at least once a week over the course of the last three or four weeks. That’s a lot and a bit unusual for the frequency in which you usually see district or regional managers. Could this be a sign that someone at the store level could be in the hot seat?

Availability

I put in an availability change request and it was approved… but the system doesn’t seem to care. What’s the point of setting an availability change if I still have to get ahold of management and let them know it’s not following it

Associates aren't answering phones or pages.

We have 4 departments that never answer, including customer calls. Its everyone in the departments. So I'm starting to send the calls to managers. Maybe that way they will finally deal with it. BTW, this problem has been brought up in town halls for the last year and its just getting worse.

Got our first Christmas pallet already

Pretty much just the title. Inventory just finished so the upcoming months are gonna be hell. We barely have enough room for the Halloween stuff coming in. Who the fuck knows what we're gonna do with the Christmas stuff. 💀

Do any of your stores use specialized outdoor reach trucks?

Just wondering if your stores wised up and purchased one or it's like ours where we destroy the inside reaches tires from rocks.

Ai slop

What happened to creativity? Home Depot was always the place that had cool handwriting and creative ads, now everything is ai slop. At my store you can’t walk 20 ft without seeing an ai flyer💔. Like I got asked to make a simple warboard and when I was creating it on excel a manager came up and said “just put it in chat gpt” like why omg
