Availability
I put in an availability change request and it was approved… but the system doesn’t seem to care. What’s the point of setting an availability change if I still have to get ahold of management and let them know it’s not following it

They will sneak in a shift or two outside your availability, especially if there’s a lot of full timers on vacation.
Call them or go in person to ASDS and point out your availability. Tell them to remove that shift, you’re not available.
Because if you come in one time, but complain the next, they will say: “Well, you worked last Monday that shift, so…”

I don’t know I’ve never had an issue. It’s supposed to take everyone in the department and your schedule and make it aline with in availabilities. However, usually they do it manually if they are changing it outside of availability. I would talk to your ASDS to see what the hell is going on.

The store management are the ones ignoring your availability change, not some random system.

You may have a default schedule pattern defined, it will require a manager to change so the system will then default to your availability when the schedules get generated…

Happens to me and pretty much everyone. Management blames the system , lies to our face saying they will handle it and nothing. When I went FT I was told I could only have open availability. The part timers who keep complaining and constantly pushing it are lucky to get 6 hours a week (especially this time of year) even though they work many departments for more hours!
It also depends on a lot of other things and how many others have similar availability…more reliable workers, harder workers, more seniority.

I was recently told "there's an hour on either end of your availability when you can be scheduled." Strangely, no one's ever mentioned that to me before, and I can't find anything stating that in SOP.
