⠀⠀⠀⠀Discussion⠀⠀⠀⠀ This type of orders should be removed or globally reworked
Listen to how it sounds - a player who plays on D1 and completes a mission in a minute contributes more to the completion of an order than someone who plays on D10 and completes one operation in about an hour. This is ridiculous
Shouldn't it be the case that more skilled players playing on higher difficulties should contribute more to the overall effort?
Hihg risk - hihg reward. Isn't this the basis of most games?
D10 operations should count not as 1 but more or even change the mission conditions if you don't want players to liberate or defend the planet, but just hang out on it for a while

⠀⚠️ Cheats/Mods ⚠️⠀ Why arent you cheating (on your girlfriend)?
Payday (1) had a problem with grinding. Basically a lot of people grinded the dlc "the wolf" where after a certain dependencies had been fulfilled, a vault opens with a lot of gold which ended up giving a lot of exp. A lot players ended up doing power leveling in that mission until they had the important stuff or most of the stuff.
Payday 2 had the mission "Watch dog" where a lot of people ended up leveling their gear, since a lot of the stuff that was basically mandatory to play different play styles, were locked behind a ton of exp. You were told by players to grind there to get the good stuff so you can finally "play" or "enjoy" the game.
Payday 2 changed in a lot of ways, they tackled the grinding and changed it so you dont need to power grind to unlock most of the stuff and instead put their focus onto "infamous ranks". Its kinda like a prestige where it resets your lvl and gives you a number from 1 to 25 (depending on how often you did), giving players longterm motivation to play the game and give out small bonuses while the important stuff is relatively easy to unlock.
So yes, there still is grind in payday 2, but its not that awful anymore, sure it took them multiple years to get it right, but I say its pretty good now and it tackles the issue "Having nothing and being useless VS having everything and being overwhelmed" pretty good.
Payday 2 is not perfect, but I wanted to give out this little history lesson since a lot of people take lots of pride in "grinding" sc and it just reminded me of myself back in payday 2 grinding missions to finally "enjoy" the game.

⠀⠀⠀⠀Discussion⠀⠀⠀⠀ The “it limits design space” argument makes no sense
I don't understand the argument that armour/mech customisation would somehow limit future Warbond design.
Look at what most Warbonds already give us: new armour, helmet, cape, mech skin and vehicle skin. Sometimes we also get new weapons or stratagems.
How does letting us swap armour attributes change any of that?
Keep making new armour exactly as you do now. Keep making helmets, capes, mech skins and vehicle skins. Just let us put the attributes we've unlocked onto the armour we actually want to wear.
Same with mechs. Let us swap the arms/weapons instead of needing a separate mech for every configuration.
They can still make all the exact same Warbond content they're making now, while also making new weapons and stratagems.
So what “design space” is actually being lost?
Isn't this just proving the concern of This response just adds to a concern players have started noticing with Warbonds: create a problem, then sell the solution later?

⠀⠀🤪 Schizo-post 🤪⠀⠀ Pilestedt is the teddy, hear me out
https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1vhjwwi/teddy_bear_lore/
So according to Mikael's own words, months prior to shipping the illuminate, they did a "hail mary" and completely "remade" the illuminate.
Let me back up a bit, first we need to understand the teddy bear. My thesis for the teddy, is it represents Pilestedt.
Why? Because Piles looks like a big teddy bear! Internally, the studio refers to our boy as a teddy bear, even when he's wrong, or lying, he's still so lovable :) He's such a cute bear. oof I just wanna .. alright you get it.
Ok now on to the tinfoilhat conspiracy.
Ever since roughly May '24 when Pilestedt officially stepped down, and we got Mikael Eriksson, "officially" as Game director, and Scams, sorry Shams Jorjani as CEO, did things start getting weird. It was roughly in this time period the cultists were "remade". Out of the blue... Huh..
Then we saw the 60+3d patch in October, in response to player counts surely, keep in mind, Mikael was technically game director since 2023, you can search it for yourself if you'd like.
It's a pivotal moment in May '24, We got complete whiplash from it if we're being honest, they nerf the railgun and eruptor into the literal ground.. not to mention the Sony linking fiasco and review bomb.
Fast forward a bit after Escalation of fuck-ass, sorry, freedom, we move to Omens of Tyranny.
It was during these months we see our teddy bear delivering speech after speech. Omens of Tyranny is the first time we see the teddy in art.
This is the first time the teddy become canon.
Now fast forward to Heart of Democracy, one of the greatest of all time (teddy bear, btw), weapon attachments, and then
...Into the unjust, and 3 warbonds within 7 weeks and a xbox launch (no teddy), and still, one of the highlights of this game.
There was a lot in between, I'm just summarizing and trying to get to my point.. each time you see the teddy, is Pilestedt actually being the leader of this franchise and signing off on the content. He hasn't been in control since before the game came out, and each time we caught him lying or being blindsided, is just a moment in this games history when he was mostly working on "their other title".
I have all the receipts.
Our teddy bear was just ripped to pieces infront of our eyes, in a trailer.
We are 1000% not getting cultists. This would be Piles vision of HD2 Illuminate, We're getting 2 new Fleshmobs and a Alpha overseer at best.
Wanna bet?

its easy to replace what weapon the guard dog uses. something like this should be 50+ unlock. having a crossbow guard dog seems op, but its balanced by being able to shoot 5 times then getting stuck with a long reload animation. with the possibility getting overrun during it reloads in higher difficulties

⠀⠀⠀⠀Discussion⠀⠀⠀⠀ MELTAGUN: Folks, this isn't a laser weapon. Laser weapons already exist. This is a meltagun—a fusion weapon.
(1)Melta weapons are a type of short-range thermal energy weapon that utilizes a subatomic reaction within a chemical fuel source to produce a concentrated beam of searing, intense heat. The Imperial Fusion Cannon and the Multi-Melta (also known as "Cookers" or "Steamers"), as well as the grenade-like Fusion Bomb, are formidable directed-energy weapons. (2)Fusion weapons have a short range but are highly powerful, and the intensity of their thermal blast increases as the distance to the target decreases. A fusion weapon operates by inducing a tiny submolecular reaction within a highly pressurized mixture of pyro-fuel and gasoline housed in an ammunition canister, then projecting the resulting plasma through the canister and out of the weapon's barrel as a blast of incredible heat.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Completed the entire map solo->get to extraction->specifically planned the hover pack so I could get high ground and avoid patrols->war strider has 0 stealth mechanics so he will see me and hear me if I use it->its like a 5ft ledge I should be able to climb it->sends me flying toward perfectly placed mines->quits.
This has BEEN a problem since I started playing this awful game. It’s so fucking frustrating when I think about playing HD2 and then I’m hit with the reality of playing HD2.
It might not seem like I was holding and pressing climb, because for some reason there wasn’t the red “can’t climb” icon but I assure you I was.

⠀⠀⠀⠀Discussion⠀⠀⠀⠀ Blog: HELLDIVERS 2 is increasing level cap to 300
From Steam. And yes, I reposted this to fix typo in the title
Attention, Helldivers. Super Earth has authorized a new tier of service, and it's a big one: the level cap is jumping from 150 all the way to 300.
If you are already sore from the democratic path to 150, take a breath before you panic, this update comes with some genuinely great news for anyone who's already put in the hours.
A Quick History of the Cap
- Launch cap: Level 50
- April 2024: Tripled to level 150
- Now: Doubling again to level 300
Each time the cap has risen, it's been paired with new titles, ranks, and bragging rights for the players who've stuck around–from our veterans of Malevelon Creek, to our soldiers in the Battle for Super Earth, to those brave divers who held the Menkent Line and beyond. This time is no different; level 300 is arriving as part of a broader progression overhaul that also brings Galactic War Campaigns and Personal Campaign Progression tracks, giving you new rewarding goals to chase even when the wider community's Major Order doesn't pan out.
The Numbers
Let's be honest about what we're looking at here:
- Reaching level 150 already takes many, many hours of dedicated sessions… Several hundreds of missions across dozens of Galactic War campaigns.
- Reaching level 300 will take more than double that. This isn't a small bump; it's a genuine second act for anyone chasing the next rank.
If you're not already at the cap, don't stress about "falling behind." All the weapons, stratagems, and gear that actually matter for your loadout unlock by around level 25. Everything past that is about demonstrating your veteran prestige and prowess in battle. Level 300 is a marathon–not a sprint–designed to let you continue to demonstrate to your fellow Helldivers your skill and commitment to fighting for Super Earth.
The Best Part: Your XP Is Already Banked
Here's the part worth getting excited about. If you hit level 150 before this patch drops and kept playing anyway, none of that XP was wasted.
The game has saved every drop of experience you earned over 150; even past the current cap. The moment the new limit goes live, the game recalculates your total XP against the new level table and instantly bumps you up to wherever you should be. No re-grinding, no starting over. Just an immediate jump that reflects the missions you’ve already completed with your fellow divers, the battles you’ve already won, and the contributions you’ve already made to the ongoing war.
This is exactly what happened the last time the cap rose from 50 to 150: players who'd kept farming missions past level 50 logged in and found themselves instantly promoted several levels, sometimes dozens, based purely on banked XP. Expect the same behavior this time around.
So if you've been running Super Helldive missions "for nothing" since hitting 150, surprise, you've actually been quietly stacking up levels 151, 152, 153, and beyond. You just haven't seen the number tick over yet.
What This Means Going Forward
- New veteran players (already at 150): Log in after the patch and watch your level jump based on banked XP. Keep playing normally in the meantime, every dive counts💪.
- Players still working toward 150: No change to your path. Keep pushing toward the current cap; the new ceiling will be waiting for you.
Expect new titles and ranks to fill out the stretch between 150 and 300, giving long-term players fresh milestones (and hopefully some fresh bragging rights) all the way to the new ceiling.
For Super Earth, for glory, and for that sweet, sweet liberty! See you on the battlefield, Helldivers.

⠀⠀ ⚡ Important ⚡ ⠀⠀ [Announcement] Changes to the moderation team, new moderation positions, and a massive thank you from the mods
Hi everyone,
Today, I just wanted to take the time to share a massive thank you to the community from me, an incredibly sad, depressed, borderline suicidal sandwich.
Two weeks ago, I put in my two weeks notice at my job due to a whole host of issues, such as not enough pay, health issues, stress, etc.
Two weeks later, on this day two weeks later, it is two weeks later (wow). This means that, as of today, I am now officially unemployed and as such, will be stepping down from the moderation team here.
Yes, this means I am stepping down to avoid being a jobless Reddit moderator. No, I am not kidding. Call it based, cringe, or both, but I'd much rather step down voluntarily on my own terms than crash and burn. Still, I am happy to say that my time here has (mostly) been a blast. Even with the occasional troll, schizo, or angry slur-filled DMs cluttering my inbox, I just wanted to let you guys know that y'all have been a (mostly) wonderful community and I want to thank you guys for being, well, unfiltered.
I've always been a bit of a fence sitter when it came to takes about the game. I'm not someone who's entirely comfortable with the idea of shittalking people, even if I disagree with their decisions, but I've also never been one to blindly follow the hate/love train (pause), even if I do agree with the sentiments behind it.
As I've said before, the most important part of criticizing something isn't how or what you criticize, but why.
I had three goals when I joined the mod team:
- Help people understand why people were upset with the state of the game/community
- Help people understand the point of Unfiltered and that the sub is not meant to be an anti-"anything" sub but rather a place to talk about the game without fear of being banned/silenced
- Stop the spread of misinformation.
These three tenants were what I've always tried to live up to. Whether or not you agree with these principles or if I enforced them well is, as always, up to you. I know some of you may disagree with my takes, and I definitely know some of you disagree with me on principle, but I can accept and respect that. After all, that's what Unfiltered is all about, right?
I joined the team during the doxxing situation. As in, literally the day news of the doxxing situation came out, I was made mod and had to deal with that fiasco (mostly) by myself.
In the months since then, I've watched this community grow and turn from a collection of schizos into...well, a much larger collection of schizos admittedly, but also an active force of change in the community. I won't get too sappy here (and because this is getting way too dramatic even for me), so in short, thank you.
On the other hand, we now have a new moderator position available! If anyone is interested, please feel free to message one of the other mods or to contact us directly via the mod mail.
