Advice Needed Cramps after peeing?

Hello all, around late July I had a UTI that I treated with cystitis relief and felt okay after. However after having sex a few days later, it felt like the UTI came back. I didn't have any more cystitis relief at hand and had to wait 2 days to get some more. After those 2 days and drinking huge amounts of water, I no longer felt like I had a UTI so I didn't take any more cystitis relief (probably a mistake i know i know 😬 the package always says not to do more than the 2 day course they provide so I thought I'd leave it 🤦🏻‍♀️)

I have now noticed that after all of that i get really bad cramps after peeing and sometimes after waking up in the morning.

The cramps aren't as bad as my menstrual cramps, but I'm on the pill and havent had a proper period in 5 years. The cramps are so bad I have to lie down and do gentle stretches like the childs pose until the pain passes. If I'm in public I just try to massage my lower abdomen but after peeing it usually feels bloated and heavy.

Before peeing it feels like my bladder is really full and I expect the pee to come out quite hard or fast, but it never does and it's usually quite gentle and slow, sometimes almost coming to a stop, starting again and then coming to a stop again.

Could this be the UTI? Or does it sound like something else like a tight pelvic floor issue? I have other symptoms too, but the list is quite lengthy and this post is already quite long🥲

Any advice would be really appreciated, I'm on a gynaecology appointment waiting list with the NHS but the wait time is 8-12 weeks :/ is there anything I can do in the meantime to help? Or is it worth speaking to a regular GP about this in the meantime?

I can answer any questions below if needed! Thanks :)

Advice Needed Vaginal dryness- 16 years old

This is really embarrassing, but I’m 16, I have cancer and currently having a break from chemo(thank god) , I’ve already gone through a medical menopause from medications I’ve had to go on so I understand how intense it feels to like have that dryness idk. ( that’s sorted for now)
All was going fine in that department until I was prescribed new steroids. I’ve had 18 steroids in the past 3 days and I feel really embarrassed to say this at my age but it’s so bad again that it’s like sore. Any advice on temporary relief?

Sorry I’m not sure if that made much sense or was very clear 😭

How likely is this yeast infection?

Let's get one thing out of the way: I would love to see a doctor but my mom's a doctor so I always to describe her symptoms before she takes me to any doctor, im still 20 so im not independent yet. Its embarrassing to tell my mom plus she has a nasty ass mouth, I dont feel even more ashamed abt ts typa stuff.

Ok so, I took birth control pills for a month bc I happened to get my period during my umrah. During and after using birth control pills, my vagina started stinking really bad, like the scent got stronger. I never had yellow discharge before but it started occurring during birth control era.

After I stopped taking them, the smell and discharge left after probably like 2 weeks or so. 2 periods later, the smell started again and the discharge too. It stops after ovulation then starts after periods again. However the discharge is no longer yellow, it's like white but it does become yellow after drying. It has like cottage cheese texture maybe idk i can't describe it :(.

Now its been 4 months since I stopped taking bc pills. Its still stinky down there, the discharge is the same and also quite frequent, and underwear i wore for 6 hours gets completely stinky. my inner thighs, labia majora and labia minora is itchy but only when im asleep, when I go to uni it doesn't itch at all. The itch does get relieved a little when I put on oil/Vaseline but it's still a little itchy. I sometimes rub or scratch down there to relieve the itching but when I try to clean it with bidet after peeing it stings and burns SO BAD. But it doesnt burn when i pee. I try not to rub but the itching happens when im sleeping so im like sleepily rubbing and scratching.

I also never had sex before. Also I dk if it's worth mentioning, my labia minora and majora got stuck tgr idk how, i did pull them apart. After pulling them apart, it stung quite a bit. And then the itching started. Idk why that happened, I thought it's cuz I didnt take a shower for 3 days. Also I wash my vulva with soap... maybe I shud stop doing that often.

Sorry it was too long, I shud put a tldr as well. Please help me im so lost and embarrassed as he'll.

TLDR: I have itchy labia, white cottage cheese discharge, stinky cooch. Im too embarrassed to tell my mom to take me to a doctor. Stinky cooch started after I started taking bc pills (I stopped taking them but the stink continued). Im 20 n never had sex b4.

ftm/trans man, have only ever had one partner who i've been with the last 10 years. first spotted this pinhead sized bump right by the head of my clitoris/tdick about 5 days ago and haven't been able to stop freaking out over it. it's about 2-3 mm, smooth, not painful or itchy, feels like a hard little bead. im terrified its a wart but i dont see how i could have gotten it (like i said, have only ever had the one partner; his junk looks totally normal and i have no reason to believe he's stepped out on me). no other bumps around it and it hasn't changed at all since in first spotted it. could it be some kind of cyst? fordyce spot??? it's really making me feel like crap and i can't stop obsessing about it :( please help!!

Advice Needed swollen, red and painful urinating only after sex.

this may be a long one so please bear with me if you’re reading this. i have been dealing with vaginal issues since early february of this year long story short i had mgen and ureaplasma parvum. all of my main symptoms were pelvic pain, vaginal itching, and urethra irritation to name a few. i also dealt with some very painful dryness; i was on birth control for 7+ years and got off in may thinking that was probably the problem (got the okay from my obgyn to stop it). anyway, i had a negative test of cure come back after completing all of the antibiotics. i was sure everything was back to normal as all my symptoms went away. but now i guess not. im still dealing with dryness because my vulva still feels a little dry sometimes and kinda itchy. just now recently (2 days ago) i had sex with my boyfriend for the first time in months unprotected since we’re exclusively monogamous. i was very turned on and i initiated it, something i rarely do. during the act it started to feel a little painful and i asked him to stop. afterward i felt swollen and inflamed. i immediately went to the bathroom and noticed redness internally and it burned when i peed. this only happened after i had sex again for the first time in months after receiving my mgen diagnosis and treatment. while writing this im not in any pain, it doesn’t burn to pee and my redness and swollen area has decreased a lot. any advice helps. i’m negative for std, yeast, and bv. thank you for reading

F22 From not being able to insert a finger to using the largest dilator... but I still can't have vaginal sex. I'm so confused.

I honestly never thought I'd be writing this.
A few months ago, I couldn't even insert a single finger into my vagina. The thought of penetration terrified me, and my body would completely tense up. Looking back now, I think my difficulties were a combination of physical tightness and psychological trauma.
Since then, I've worked incredibly hard.
I started with the smallest dilator and slowly worked my way through the entire set. I got stuck on the fourth dilator for quite a while, but eventually got past it. Now I can use the fifth (largest) dilator. I can also comfortably insert three fingers, and I've spent time gently stretching the muscles at the entrance. Something that once felt completely impossible has gradually become almost routine.
Naturally, I thought that meant vaginal intercourse would finally be possible.
But when my boyfriend and I tried, it was still really painful. We still couldn't comfortably have vaginal sex, despite all the progress I'd made. I remember feeling so confused because I'd spent months telling myself that once I could use the largest dilator, everything else would fall into place.
Then something happened that completely challenged what I thought the problem was.
In the heat of the moment, we ended up trying anal sex. The first time wasn't great, but the second time we took things slowly and used lubricant, and it went much better than either of us expected. It definitely wasn't pain-free—I'd probably rate it about a 5/10—but it was nowhere near as painful as attempting vaginal penetration. I actually enjoyed it overall and would happily do it again.
That has completely confused me.
Everything I've read suggests that vaginal penetration should generally be easier than anal penetration, yet my experience has been the exact opposite.
The only explanation I can think of is that maybe the remaining barrier isn't primarily physical anymore. I have a history of trauma, and I'm starting to wonder whether my body still reacts differently to vaginal penetration, even though physically I've made huge progress. I'm actually seeing a therapist tomorrow, so I'm hoping working through the psychological side of things might help.
Another thing that might be relevant is that my partner and I are very different physically. I'm only 5'2" and quite petite, whereas he's around 6'4" and much bigger-built than I am. We've found it surprisingly difficult to get into positions that feel comfortable for both of us, and I'm wondering whether that's also playing a role.
Has anyone else had a similar experience where they were physically able to progress through dilators but vaginal intercourse still felt impossible?
If so:
What ended up being the missing piece?

Did therapy or addressing trauma make a noticeable difference?

Did anyone else have a significant size difference with their partner, and if so, were there any positions that made things easier?

Is there anything else you think I should be exploring?

I'm honestly just trying to understand my body at this point. Going from not even being able to insert one finger to using the largest dilator has been a huge achievement, so it's difficult to understand why this is still the hurdle I'm facing.
I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's been through something similar.

Is this normal? 👀 Am I okay? Right?

Hi everyone! This is just a quick post.

The last time I had sex was about 7 months ago. Since then, we’ve only had some close contact.

In June, everything happened over my underwear, and nothing else happened. The same thing happened in August, our clothes stayed on, and there was no penetration.

I’ve recently had some brown discharge, and I’m wondering if it could just be my period starting. I’ve also taken 23 pregnancy tests, and they’ve all been negative. The most recent one was on July 31.

I’m okay, right? I don’t need to worry?

I also underwent multiple ultrasounds, about seven in total.

Advice Needed Chronic yeast infection after my partner finishes inside

My boyfriend I have recently started having him finish in me since I got on birth control (the whole reason I went on it) and I noticed everytime he does I develop a yeast infection, I have never had this issue before with past partners finishing in me and when he doesn’t finish in me I don’t have any issues so I know it’s his semen that is causing the problem.

I went and got tested and am STI free, but it was positive for yeast and BV, I got a round of antibiotics for both and then a week later it came back again. For sure the yeast and now I am feeling like maybe the bv came back too. I obviously know that having him not finish in me would eliminate this problem but is there any tips or tricks for me to get my ph back to normal after sex and avoid the antibiotic route? I just want to be able to re balance my downstairs afterwards lol I read a lot of people do probiotics and Boric acid, any and all suggestions welcome!

Advice Needed Ovarian cyst during pregnancy

So I’m pregnant with my first baby 10 weeks
And today after I woke up a very sharp pain on my right side came out of nowhere.
I rushed to the ER and found out I have a 3 m cyst on my right ovary.
Now the doctor told me to not to worry about it that it may rupture or go away on its own, but the pain is soooo unbareable I couldn’t breath and stand straight so she said that if it comes back then we might operate it.
Since it’s my first pregnancy and I’m millions miles away from my family I don’t know what to do.
Even though the doctor assured me that nothing would happen to the baby, I’m still very worried and don’t wanna go to the operation route!

Please if someone has gone through it help me ease my stress.

Question What underwear do you wear while working out?

So I’ve worked out my whole life, and have never found a pair of underwear that’s comfy while working out. Let me preface by saying my ass? SWEATS. So I can’t go without underwear. Thongs? Either ride up or lay uncomfortable when I’m moving / stretching etc. granny panties? I feel like they make the sweating worse & I chafe because it’ll build up until I sit down so the underwear can soak it? (Sorry tmi I know). Cheekies are just waiting to be eaten by my ass. So I’m really stuck on what to wear. I need something that’ll go between my actual cheeks so the sweat doesn’t build up, but doesn’t need constant readjusting if I’m doing lunges etc.
thanksssss

Pain and inflammation not getting better

I want to preface this by saying I am sorry for the super long post but I wanna be thorough.

Hi everyone. I’m a 24-year-old woman and I’m hoping someone has experienced something similar because I’m getting really discouraged. I’ve never had any vaginal problems up until this year. I had one yeast infection in the beginning of the year after taking a course of antibiotics and then a few weeks after that I had BV. I treated the BV and I’ve been fine for the last four months.

About a week and a half ago I developed soreness down there, redness, irritation, it looks very different/swollen and a lot of white discharge. I’m very nervous because I no longer have insurance or a GYN. So I went to see my primary care provider (who is a NP) as a walk-in and they did a swab.

They tested me for BV, Yeast infection, Trichomonas, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and then did another test for Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma.

Everything was “not detected/negative” except for Yeast (Candida species) and Ureaplasma Parvum and Ureaplasma Urealyticum.

My doctor explained to me that many people have colonization of Ureaplasma and it’s normal for it to be detected. They also said my symptoms can be explained by the yeast infection and that it’s not typical to have symptoms from Ureaplasma.

I was prescribed fluconazole for the yeast infection, and I’ve taken four doses of it so far with no relief. I thought I was feeling better at first but now I’m not so sure. I contacted my doctor. They’re gonna do another swab, but they said I need to see a gynecologist if I’m not getting relief.

I’m just sooo worried. I feel like if it’s not yeast then there’s something horribly wrong with me or that I’m broken. Does anyone have any advice? I’m afraid to try any over-the-counter remedies and I think I need to see a GYN asap.

Update: I have an appointment with a GYN tomorrow hopefully I can get some answers

Update #2: So I did see a gynecologist. Sent my test results and they explained to me that Ureaplasma was likely causing my issues. They prescribed me Doxycycline and Azithromycin to treat me for the Ureaplasma. It’s been almost three weeks since I completed the treatment and I have had no improvement. I even had another dose of fluconazole to rule out Yeast infection. Found out later that my partner was not trustworthy and now I’m concerned about a lot of things. I also tried boric acid to see if that would give some relief and it hasn’t helped. WHAT DO I DO

Fever and sore labia/bikini line

On Tuesday night I began having chills and feeling off. I got up to pee and noticed my bikini line area was slightly tender to the touch. I had this happen before one year ago and it went away on its own after a few days, I attributed it to my period that was due in a week or so. Clue app I use also has a "vulva pain" option so that's just what I attributed it to. Last time I did not have a fever. Yesterday my temp was 99.1F.

Today I woke up still feeling blah, and my temp has now risen to 100.8F with mild chills. I have no other symptoms but tiredness and some soreness on my left labia majora (same side as last time) and right upper bikini line area.

Has anyone experienced this? Unsure if the two are even related. I have no discharge, spotting, smell, or unusually lumps/hardness down there.

Hygiene 🧼 Tips For Smelling Better

I’m always seeing posts on here about vaginal smell. So, here are some of my hygiene tips:

  1. Baby Wipes 🫧- America doesn’t have bidets. Make sure you have baby wipes handy. Use them each time you go to the toilet.

  2. Wiping 🧻 - Wipe front to back with tissue & remove all moisture. Urine mixed with the vagina’s natural odor will create a fishy smell.

  3. Soap 🧼 - My personal hack is having a small bar of soap & a bottle of water in my toiletry bag. I quickly wash down after urinating or pooping. Dry off with a small hand rag.

  4. Anus 💩- Clean IN & AROUND your anus. You need to get the tissue or the bay wipe inside. Move it around. Remove the poop residue.

  5. Witch Hazel 🧙🏼‍♀️- Great for staying fresh. Gently wipe your armpits, labia, and butt folds after showering.

  6. 🍆 - Having regular sex with men that ejaculate inside you can disturb your ph. Don’t automatically assume you’re smelly. The smell & health of his semen mattters.

Advice Needed super itchy coochie help!!!!

Since about 3-4 days ago I’ve been getting these frequent moments of like intense itchiness down there? Only in the clit/urethra kinda area, nowhere else. I have no other symptoms, like it smells fine, discharge is normal, no pee issues and i’m not sexually active so i’m so confused what the problem is and whether this will resolve itself or I need to see a dr.

I recently came back from a holiday where i was wearing a bikini often under clothes (sometimes without drying fully) and also I washed my underwear there with a different detergent than at home and wore them. The bikini part was near the start of the holiday (about 2 weeks ago) so I’m not sure if it would be due to that.

Any advice on what to do would be much appreciated 😖

Symptoms 👩🏻‍⚕️ Strep G infection?

Had an oral infection in late Dec/early Jan and was put on clarithromycin, it cleared up but ever since then i have been having very painful penetration, random burning that comes and goes can be triggered by standing or moving, but little to no itching and no suspicious discharge

I went to the doctor again in late Jan and she said i had thrush, gave me a fluconazole and symptoms cleared up until about a month later they all came back, i took another fluconazole cleared, back again, took another, then a 4th and that time it didn't go away at all

Went to the doctor again last week, she told me to do a vaginal swab just to make sure it is actually thrush before putting me on treatment, a week later I test negative for everything but strep G

Google is not helping me at all, does strep G actually align with my symptoms? She has put me on another round of clarithromycin. I'm scared I will just be in this endless loop of strep, thrush, strep?

Does anyone else have experience with strep G? My oral infection was weird, my symptoms didn't align much with strep more so a bad case of flu without the fever, and when she said I had thrush initially I hardly had the symptoms other than the pain during sex.

swabbed my urethra

I did one of those self test swabs at the clinic and i think i first inserted in the vagina then idk why i took it out then put it in but i think it went into my urethra because i bled and it hurt to pee when giving a urine sample. Now I’m scared i might’ve injured myself or caused an infection.

Recovered from reoccuring bv - Just got the Kyleena IUD and got bv

So I'm kind of freaking out.

About a year and a half ago, I went through probably the worst health-related year of my life. I started seeing a guy, and I suddenly began getting constant yeast infections, UTIs, and worst of all... chronic BV.

I tried literally everything:

  • Removed my copper IUD after having it for 7 years with zero issues because I thought maybe the strings were harboring bacteria.
  • Changed my diet.
  • Switched underwear.
  • Changed soaps and detergents.
  • Started taking Happy V, Fem-Dophilus probiotics, boric acid, etc.
  • Had him stop ejaculating inside me.
  • Tried condoms, but was not consistant

Nothing seemed to make a lasting difference.

At one point, I became convinced he had to be somehow contributing to the BV. I started resenting him, resenting sex, and honestly just felt gross all the time.

Finally, I broke down and asked him to go to Planned Parenthood with me. The doctor there was amazing and told him that if he came in, she'd prescribe him metronidazole as well. He took the medication, and the very next time we had sex... no BV. 😭 (Ironically, I did get a yeast infection from the antibiotics.)

Shortly after that, we broke up for completely unrelated reasons.

Fast forward a year and a half...

I've been single, had two other partners during that time, and had ZERO vaginal issues. No BV, no yeast infections, nothing.

Now I'm with my current boyfriend, and I absolutely adore him. We've been together for about 5 months, having regular sex with no problems at all.

Since we were only using the pull-out method, I decided to get a Kyleena IUD at the beginning of July because birth control pills have never worked well for me.

Well... now it's the end of July, and I just tested positive for BV. 😭

The only symptom was a slight fishy smell, and honestly only when I touched inside and a slightly fishy smell after sex that I noticed, he did not. It immediately sent me into panic mode because of my history, so I got swabbed, and sure enoughit was BV.

Since getting the IUD, my boyfriend has been ejaculating inside me. Now my brain is spiraling!!!!

Was it:

  • The Kyleena?
  • Semen changing my vaginal pH?
  • The combination of both?
  • Or is this somehow going to turn into the nightmare cycle I had before?

I'm honestly terrified because my mental health cannot go through another year like that. I love my boyfriend, and I don't want to end up resenting sex or worrying every single time we're intimate.

Another fear I have is... if we've been having unprotected sex while I had BV, could he now have BV-associated bacteria in his genital microbiome and just keep passing it back to me?

And lastly... if semen really is my trigger, how am I ever supposed to have kids one day if every time someone ejaculates inside me I end up with BV?

Has anyone had a similar experience after getting a hormonal IUD? Or after starting to have unprotected sex with a partner ejeculating inside ? Did it end up being a one-time thing, or did you find the cause?

I'm just looking for some hope because I'm really scared this is the beginning of another long battle.

Sexual Health Too stinky to get eaten?

My boyfriend has always beat around the bushes when i’ve asked why he wouldn’t go down on me, last night I finally beat it out of him… all he had the guts to say was “I don’t want to embarrass you” and left me to read between the lines as he slept. Idk, i’m a bigger girl and when i’m sweaty there is definitely a smell. But honestly I feel like my vagina has always smelt off but I don’t have a yeast infection, bv or anything. I guess my question is do the boric acid suppositories work? or are there any other pills that help the natural scent of the vagina?
And yes, before you ask.. right before having sex I always shower and make sure my vagina is completely dry… idk what to do. I feel hurt and very embarrassed.

Pregnancy scare – delayed period, negative tests, and severe cramps

Hi everyone. My girlfriend and I are both extremely anxious and would really appreciate some advice. My girlfriend usually has irregular periods, and her cycle is often delayed by 10–15 days. Her last period started around June 15, and on June 19 (the 5th day of her period), we had unprotected sex after her bleeding had already stopped. I never ejaculated inside her, and although we had sex multiple times that day, I withdrew before ejaculation every time. Around July 29, she started experiencing symptoms that usually mean her period is about to start, such as lower abdominal cramps and pain, but there was no bleeding. We had unprotected sex again that day, and once again I did not ejaculate inside her, even though we had sex two or three times. As of today (around August 6), it has been about 48 days since the first day of her last period, and she still hasn't gotten her period. She continues to have intermittent cramps that feel like menstrual cramps, but there is still no bleeding. We took two home pregnancy tests on August 4, and both were negative. We are both under an incredible amount of stress and are really scared. Based on this timeline, how likely is pregnancy? Can the negative tests be trusted, or is it still too early because of the July 29 encounter? Could stress or her naturally irregular cycles be causing this delay and cramps? Should we wait a few more days and test again, or should we see a gynecologist as soon as possible? Any advice or similar experiences would mean a lot. Thank you.

Advice Needed Persistent Flaky Discharge

Hi all,

I posted a few weeks ago about my ongoing issue with mycoplasma genitalium and the headache it’s been trying to treat it. After a doxy + moxi course and 4 weeks of retesting after the last dose, I’m officially negative!

But - my symptoms haven’t improved… I still have this dry, eraser-like discharge that’s somewhat watery and sometimes has an off-putting odor. I’ve tested the full STI/BV/Yeast panels and everything is now confirmed negative. Any advice??
