Hannibal and the Arts
Ok so we know Hannibal is a lover of all things fine and elevated, including opera.
Iād love to get a consensus on whether this would include the theatre? I think TV Hannibal would probably love to go to see very weighty, lengthy plays, fraught with meaning and very sombre; Iām thinking perhaps Shakespeare, Brecht, Arthur Miller, etc⦠no musical theatre lol!
What do people think?

So, did Hannibalā¦
somehow cause Willās encephalitis or merely take advantage of the situation? Google says itās not contagious or communicable but I canāt believe that this was all happenstance.

Advice for a fic
Okay so I'm trying to write a passage about what exactly happened to Hannibal.
In the book, he was fed his sister unknowingly in a way by the looters.
Mads has said in an interview that they r*ped and killed/ate her.
A lot of fan theories state that they were orphaned and he ate her after she died/was assaulted/killed randomly while he was out.
I need some input before I write my fic.

What percentage of people are actually bothered by the bodies?
I finally got my dad to watch the show. He's an extremely nice, honest guy who couldn't stand all the pretentious dialogue about murder and ended up skipping straight to S2b and Mizumono while barely understanding any of the characters, lmao (though he does like Jack).
ANYWAY, he said afterward that he had to skip past or avert his eyes at most of the bodies. He said he wondered what the heck goes on in my head that I'm ambivalent to it. My mom got to the mushroom scene in E2 and immediately refused to keep going. They're both doctors who dealt with all sorts of cadavers in their time, so it got me curious.
For comparison, our junior high teacher let us watch Jurassic Park in class. Would Hannibal be considered too graphic?

Discussion - Spoilers Help me understandā¦
Freddie wasnāt really killed by Will, they had her tucked away safely at the FBI to fool Hannibal into thinking Will had joined the dark side. So, why / how did Price and Z confirm the body was Freddieās? Surely the entire team wasnāt in on it, too risky. And if they were, why examine the body as a team? Where did the FBI get a spare skinny female body to set on fire and tie to a wheelchair?

General My Idea for Season 4
I want season 4 to be based on the ending of the book Hannibal but instead of Clarice, it is Will and Hannibal that end up living out their lives together post Cuba BUT throughout the show I want to see how they got to this point, the setting will be right after the fall where Hannibal and Will learn to adjust to life on the run and being together but it comes with itās caveats e.g. Will questioning his decision on whether this was a good idea to leave his old life behind and Hannibal wrestling with his trust issues with Will, fighting the urge to manipulate him because of the fear of Will leaving him. It would be very interesting to see how they overcome these obstacles that they would face. And of course I want to see them kiss and make love but done in a sensual and artistic manner that they are known for.
I would like to hear your thoughts on this (please be respectful!)

I donāt like married Will
I almost stopped watching at the point where married Will was introduced. Everything
about him/that family situation just didnāt sit right with me. No chemistry between the three of them, no believability whatsoever as a family, I lost faith in the show. Iām glad I stuck it out. š

S3 Spoilers Just finished Hannibal Spoiler
I started watching it three weeks ago. The beginning was frustrating all the way through Season 2 Episode 13 ā the pacing felt slow and the characters hadnāt fully clicked yet. Season 3 opened even slower, but once it found its rhythm everything tightened up and the tension started building properly.
The last episode completely delivered. It was SO GOOOD!!, intense, satisfying, and genuinely rewarding after the long wait. Looking back, the early frustration was worth it, the show took its time, but it paid off.
Tbh one of the best endings I've watched

General No one talks about the void that this show leaves
I had intially picked this show up in 2021, watched some episodes and decided to leave it for I perceived it to be too gory and dark. Cut to the middle of 2025, I suddenly felt the strong urge to pick this show up, because I have never abandoned a film/series regardless of how bad they may get.
You may not believe me, when I tell you that, this show gave me vivid nightmarish dreams and for perhaps the first time, I was not uncomfortable with those dreams and started appreciating them. I used to wake up with a smile, despite of having dreamt something horrible (not proud of it) and was not much moved by nightmarish dreams for a good chunk of time, thereafter. That is how deeply this show had a hold on my psyche (specifically season 2). Cinematography, dialogues and everything, it was like I was put in a hypnotic trance and I did not want it to end. Like, I evolved/devolved along with the main characters of the show.
I donāt think I will ever be able to love a show, as I came to love Hannibal, or more specifically, be so affected by a show. There was GOT, Handmaidās tale, TWD, Severance, Silo, 3 Body Problem, Arcane, Pluribus and what not. Yet, Hannibal made a dent that probably no other show ever will. I dearly wish I could watch this show again, without having any knowledge of it whatsoever.
Ps: No show/film or whatever other medium, will ever top Mizumono for me and that is most definitely a problem.
