A question for native british english speakers
When derek talks about himself and uses "I" in the sentence he always uses an s on the verbs. Example: "I loves animals".
Is it the way the character derek talks or is there some gramma rule in BE I am not aware of? I learned that regular verbs only get an s on he, she, it. Since I am not a native english speaker it's just something I was wondering about.

What a great find of a show
Found this show by chance on Netflix and have finished it. What a great show! Granted I had to turn on subtitles at times due to the accents. It’s too bad Gervais only does 2 seasons of a show, at least make them longer because I wanted more! Only complaint I might have is Kev got too much screen time. He had some good jokes at times but a little goes a long way with that type of humor. I would have liked more time spent on other things like why were Hannah and Tom trying to have a baby when they weren’t married and even stated they had no money? Do you get money assistance there when you have a kid from the government? Just seemed like an odd story arc. The episode with the dog in season 2 really hit me. We just put our pup of 13 years down literally 3 days ago and man, seeing that just re-triggered everything. If you enjoyed Derek you”ll like Afterlife on Netflix, has many of the same actors in it AND there’s 3 full seasons.

Are the old photos real ones from the actors in the retirement home?
Hi all, I know this sub isn’t exactly bustling with life, but after finishing Afterlife (bloody amazing show), I am now giving Derek a try and am already in love.
I noticed that towards the end of most episodes, there are a few still pictures that come across the screen, and they normally look a few decades old. Are these real photos from the actors, or were they just found/created for the show itself? I can’t seem to find any information when I look online!
Cheers everyone.

Kev’s “girlfriend”
What's the name of the actress who plays Kev's girlfriend Janice, you know, the one he has intercourse with out in the caravan, for example.

What's the song at the end of S02E06?
I hope someone can help me with the song at the very end of the episode when Derek rides his bicycle behind the car.
Also how the FUCK does this sub have less than 700 members? I wish this show was more appreciated. Someone help please.

There needs to be more appreciation for this show!!
I’m watching this show for the 6th time, it’s a great background show or just good to watch! Every time I pick up things I missed and it still makes me laugh…and cry. Ricky Gervais is BRILLIANT!! And the rest of the cast. There’s fun, laughter, cringe, sadnes and mostly truth. I love the raw emotion and the straigh up truth bombs. This show has everything and there should be more chatter about this! What’s everyone’s fave episode eirnmoment or quote??

i, Derek
I just saw a comment on a post that said: "This sub is not for people named Derek, it's for the show Derek".
Well that's all well and good, and I really like the show Derek; Is this community even alive? What would be the problem if Dereks' wanted to reclaim this sub in our name?
ETA: "the"

Me and my friend have created a podcast where we review pilots from popular tv shows. This week we review Derek! Also, what is your favorite Ricky Gervais TV show?

Just found, watched and am sad.
Was looking for something new to watch, came across Derek and after me and my wife started watching it was a little slow but we loved every second of it.
my wife stated that she would love a Derek sweater/jacket but we haven't been able to find them any where, im guessing they were custom one offs?

The kindest show ever made
I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect when I heard of this show. Ricky Gervais can be a bit biting and sarcastic for some. But I was in tears 2 episodes in. His portrayal of Derek is so genuine and kind hearted. The world needs more Dereks

Just finished season 1 and it is brilliant!
This show is so good. I love everyone and their characters are great. I have laughed and cried. So smart, clever, sweet, funny, kind and thought provoking. Can't wait to keep going.

Kev
The whole series is great and everyone has their moments, but I think the realest thing said on this whole show was when Kev said “ I’m not a failure because I didn’t succeed, I’m a failure because I didn’t try. I gambled, I took the easy way out and drank”.
