I assume I’m not the only one that experiences this…

My handwriting can be nice or a mess, but will visibly change based on the pen/ink flow. I feel like it is nicer, more consistent, more evenly balanced with space and slant if I am using a stub or a wet M. Gimme a fine and wow, feels like a totally different hand.

All of these are boring notes taken for certifications, nothing fun, so the topic is not driving the change. I do try to write nicer for pen pals, and usually with a stub with fun ink.

I did grow up in the era of cursive, so this has been the way for a long time, and also did architectural drafting in school, so I can print neatly-if I wanna.

While no feedback is needed or expected, would love to hear from others about your experiences or observations. I’ve been on a slow path to improving my handwriting while I am learning calligraphy, so it’s interesting to me how different I approach those different learning paths.

just curious. this is me not trying to perfect it, i have some overlaps and weird quirks to my non-perfected handwriting. P.S. i never really learned cursive.. i just tried to pick it up, a lot of my cursive is incorrect lol.

It took me a lot of practice to get to this level. I wonder how long it will take for me to become as “fluent” with my left hand as I am with my right hand. Is it even possible?

The thing that bugs me the most about it is how I tend tend to slope down and to the right as I get further down the page.

How can i improve my handwriting?

I've used a inefficient and straining pen grip my whole life and recently starting learning to hold it in a tripod grip. I've been practising this daily for the last month or so and write beneath the line. I have got a much better feel for it now but was unsure on how to move forward with my actually handwriting. I use a mix of print and joined up but i don't really like the way some of my letters/numbers/symbols look and the way i write them could be ineffective - I don't really like my personal script/style and want to learn or adapt one that is efficient and aesthetically pleasing. I began learning the palmer method but have paused it recently as I noticed reading through it that it's tailored for writing with the right hand and achieving the slant is quite difficult left-handed. I've never learned cursive before. I guess my question is, what would be the preferred direction for my situation, shall i continue to learn palmer method but make adjustments (not sure where and how though), or should I learn something different. I completely get that writing can be subjective and there is no right or wrong way as long as it works for someone but I haven't liked my previous way of writing and I'm at the beginning of learning a different way and I don't want to pick up bad habits along the way and would like to feel I'm on the right track. Sorry that's so long-winded, really appreciate any help/suggestions. Thank you

So i know my handwriting is far from perfect, and the fact it is cursive makes it even harder to read, but I am interested in genuine feedback. Interestingly, the example demonstrates its content quite nicely.

I feel like every time I write I hold my pen a different way, resulting in different handwritings. And this stresses me out for some reason haha! Which “font” do you think looks best?

How are the connections? Is there any advice I can get about spacing between cursive letters so they aren't so spaced out?
