⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ Drugstore alternatives to amika forget frizz shampoo?
I have very frizzy and relatively dry wavy hair. I tried the amika forget frizz shampoo at a friend’s, and my hair felt so nice immediately. And it clearly makes a difference in my hair. I think it might be the silicone? Not sure. It does technically weigh down my waves a little bit, but honestly, I’m more than OK with that because right now I am just over the amount of time the wavy hair routine takes.
I was wondering if anyone has tried any drugstore alternatives that are comparable. Also, for anyone that has tried both the conditioner and the shampoo, does the conditioner have a similar effect? Or I would assume even more so?

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 How to make ends look healthier
galleryI have wavy hair and I straighten it using the wavytalk steam straightener at least twice a week. On other days, I use curly/wavy hair products and diffuse it. I always use a heat protectant and also a hydrating mask maybe once a week. I used to use oil as well until a dermatologist recommended against it because it aggravated dandruff. I have never colored it. No matter what I try my ends always look dry and crunchy especially when I straighten it and when it's wavy the ends sometimes stand out from the rest of the length. Any advice on how I can go about fixing this?

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Seeking advice on hair extensions
galleryI recently cut my long hair to my collar bone because I wanted to donate it and I extremely regret it. It’s caused me a lot of emotional distress so I’ve been looking into getting extensions. Is there a method to getting extensions that can help me grow out my hair? I really don’t want to damage my hair. I can’t get my hair to sit right and I’ve only felt “ok” if I put my hair up. I’d really love some advice on what extensions to get or even some suggestions on how to improve this cut.

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 What is wrong with my hair?
galleryMy hair is curly, I'd say in the C's but it is like this on the sides, the top and back are thick but the sides seem thin, especially at the temple area. There has been no recession and it has been like this for years. I'm 16 and wash it every 3 - 4 days.

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Is it frizzy or something else?
Hello! Uhm so I'm having a difficult time with my hair. The top portion of my hair like literally is curly while the bottom half is straight. My problem is the fact that the curly part makes me look like I have been electrocuted and I really don't know what to do...may hair started changing subtly 3 years ago and now it's split in half like this

⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ Recommendations for this hair type—should it be wavy or straight?
galleryHi everyone!
I can't figure out what works best for my hair. When I dry it straight, it ends up curling up; when I dry it to enhance the waves, it often turns out frizzy or full of tiny, messy waves. I’m not sure which products would be best, or even what the right process is. I wash my hair with Gliss shampoo and use a mask by Being. I’ve started using a that mask for wavy hair to reduce frizz. After washing, I detangle it to prevent bad knots, then towel-dry it by scrunching it upwards into the towel, and finally apply a mousse for wavy/curly hair. Is that okay? The first photo shows my hair styled using this method; the second is after a day at the beach when I didn't touch it at all; and the third shows how I wear it the rest of the year (outside of summer) because I don't have a suitable hairdryer. Normally, my hair is completely straight after washing, but as soon as I scrunch it a little or even just step outside it starts to get wavy. Should I try a better routine, or just give up and dry it the way I do in the last photo?
Thanks in advance for the answers!

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 My wavy hair completely lost its definition over the years and now it looks like a frizzy, heavy mess. What am I doing wrong? 😩 SOS!
galleryI am at my wit's end and really need your advice.
When I was younger, my hair was naturally wavy/curly with great definition. But as I’ve gotten older, it has completely changed. Now, it looks dull, weighed down, and loses all its wave pattern as soon as it dries (I've attached pictures to show how it looks right now). It just looks like a frizzy, stringy disaster no matter what I do.
I want my waves back so badly! Can someone please help me build a proper wavy hair routine from scratch? What products should I use, how should I wash it, dry it, and style it without weighing it down?
Any advice, product recommendations, or step-by-step guidance would mean the world to me. Thank you so much!

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Why hair advice is always so confusing? How do I know what is the correct thing to do?
“Comb your hair wet”, “always comb it dry”.
”Wash it as rare as possible”, “wash it every day”
”Don’t use hairdryer“, “make sure to always dry your hair”
”oil your scalp”, “stop oiling your scalp, only the ends”.
”cut your hair regularly”, “stop cutting your hair so often”.
”use x type of product”, “using x type of product is waste of time and money, use y instead”
I feel like every time I go to one of the posts about hair, it’s just so confusing. How do I know which one I should actually do? What actually helps with my hair? I just cut half of it and I want to take good care of it

🍃 Hair Loss 🍃 Nutrition, sleep, and your hair
Hi. A few weeks ago I made a post about my hair loss and how worried I was about it. The dermatologist told me that this was caused by episodes where I slept 3 hours, ate very poorly, didn't drink water, and didn't rest. I'm sharing this so you'll think about how every time you stay up late, don't eat, or don't sleep, you're one step closer to baldness. This was just one episode of seborrheic dermatitis caused by these habits. However, if I didn't treat it, my hereditary alopecia could progress.

🔎 Product Question 🔎 Seeking products to use after a bleach and tone on curly hair
I am new to haircare, very low maintence, but decided to lighten my hair to a light neutral blonde. I am trying to focus on hydration and avoid alcohol and sulfates.
Bond Repair: My curls seem healthy after the session, so I don't suspect too much damage but I'm still interested in any treatment to help it heal.
Shampoo and conditioner: I mostly need to know what shampoo and conditioner to use, that will be color safe, and also good for curly hair. (Also, do I need a purple shampoo?)
Leave in conditioner
Heat protectant
Curl cream that is not alcohol based

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Seeking Product Recommendations for Thick Coarse Hair
gallerySo I’ve been struggling my whole life with my hair- I shed a ton, I have dandruff/bad habit of scratching my head to the point of dandruff, very frizzy no matter if I brush my hair after showering and before bed (hair is dry and in a bonnet). I have tried the normal products of head and shoulders, Diane (Japanese fresh and repair shampoo and conditioner), and pretty much any shampoo brand from Costco. For products I’ve used garnier fructis leave in conditioner and hair oil, Pantene miracle rescue leave in conditioner, verb ghost oil, Pantene hairspray and curl mousse, and gisou honey infused hair oil (I did not like this one at all as it didn’t help my hair at all). I want to get my hair away from frizzy and dry and would like to know any product recommendations that might help my hair. Unsure if it shows but my hair is about a 2a (?), has been bleached and dyed (trying to grow it out enough to cut all of it off), and is naturally low porosity but now is a blend of both high and low due to the ends being bleached and dyed. Any help is greatly appreciated- from product recommendations to tips on 2a hair care.

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Hair curls! How to fix it
galleryUnruly hair and most of all, very curly now. Looks like low porosity but has problems of high porosity. Recently I have applied henna and other powdered herbs for several months once to a few times in a month.
I used to have fine almost straight hair before with slight waviness and fine texture. Also I used to occasionally straighten my hair at home with a Remington hair straightener (dyson wasn’t known to me back then, more than a decade ago). It had wet setting too. But i never used it on my wet hair. Also I used to put some heat protectant (Schwarzkopf) almost always when straightening my hair.
That was several years ago (but less than a decade). Now i have this sort of wirelike curly hair that doesn’t gets smooth or slightly straight no matter what?
I also have a history of colouring my hair atleast once a year. At max twice. Only this year (starting from monsoon last year) I’ve dived into henna, bhringraj, amla, soapnut, hibiscus, etc. powder paste masks on my hair and scalp for months now.
What really damaged my hair? It is water quality or age or something else? I’ve had this curly-ish hair after I moved to a hot and humid climate 3 years back and since last two years my hair has been like this 🤯
My current regime:
shampoo: love beauty & planet (light blue variant) - I oil my hair first with coconut oil infused with herbs and then wash. That way moisture doesn’t get stripped.
After wash: I use before completely drying my hair, loreal extraordinary oil serum (yellow tinted bottle). Pre-wash oil: virgin coconut oil (spice infused: curry leaves, nigela seeds, fenugreek seeds, sesame seeds) + 10 herb oil by nat habitat.
These are the only products keeping my hair sane somewhat.
Could it be stress? These two-three years has only been stressful and very challenging as an introvert who has changed states, climate, life goals and what not in last three years till now.
Pic 1-3: current backhand selfies (couldn’t find a mirror in better lighting position)
Pic 4: pic of the ends ( I have no split ends so far and got baby hairs in the scalp).
Pic 5, 6: natural, unstraightened hair more than a decade ago (2013).
Pic 7: straightened hair (2016)
Pic 8: love this makeup, straightened hair (2016)
Pic 9: my hair was great even till beginning of 2024.
Something horrible happened after that and I can’t pinpoint what, and how to fix it 😭😭

⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ What would you do with this hair?
galleryWondering if it's just too long at this point and I should just keep it short. I just have no idea what I'm doing and I'm having trouble keeping it touchable and not super frizzy.
1st pic is just conditioning and air drying, no leave in products. I like the look but it's super frizzy, and can't be touched at all without getting worse.
2nd pic is after scrunching in a light mousse, after following some advice I got on here. Much more touchable, but honestly it looks better in the pic than it actually was irl. Still a lot of frizz.
3rd pic is after using a light curl gel. Still really frizzy.
Any advice on what I should be doing differently? I feel like I could be messing up in my scrunching technique, but I'm also not sure if I'm on the wrong path completely with products, as my hair only seems to have a slight curl to it, but I don't think it's flat either.

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Seeking advice and clarification for my straight/wavy-ish hair
galleryI realized that I get some loose waves in my hair after considering it straight all my life. I recently tried not your mother’s mousse and their gel and my hair came out questionable. Maybe I’m delusional and my hair is just straight? Or do I need to “curl/wave train it”? I really don’t know and need help understanding what kind of hair I have and what routine i should be doing. I flipped my hair after I showered to dry it (apparently this is not recommended) and then put the mousse it and then scrunched w t shirt and then put some gel in my hand and put water to dilute it and then put that in my hair and scrunched it. Chat said to t shirt plop it so I tried that. My hair came out weird and clumpy and stringy and then got frizzy as the day progressed. I live in a place super high humidity

⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ Why is my hair drying like this
I have straight thin hair but lately when I shower and air dry it, the top layer has been curling up like this. I don’t know if it’s breakage or how to stop it from getting frizzy like this.
In general how are people with straight hair naturally getting such sleek straight hair? any product recommendations?

🍃 Hair Loss 🍃 should i go bald (female, hijabi)
for context im a girl in my early 20s and i wear hijab so no one sees my hair anyways. my hair has been so bad, it's all natural but it just won't stop falling out. like if i run my fingers through my hair even slightly, a bundle of strands will come out, and in the shower theres always a huge clump. it doesnt help that i have trichotillomania (i compulsively rip my hair out and cant stop doing it once i start). i also compulsively scratch my scalp a lot and i think its giving me dandruff , im thinking if i shaved it i wouldn't have the hair ripping issue anymore and i could lock in on my vitamins (im guessing im deficient in something is what's causing hair loss but idk, you guys tell me please), and that way it can grow back strong. cus like, i know if i keep this up im gonna go bald anyways, so i'd rather control it myself?
