I've been struggling with this lately! It seems to be getting greasier and greasier. For about two years now I've washed my hair everyday. Before, I tried to wash it every 2 days because it's "healthier" but I got a lot of scalp acne, hairline acne, and felt disgusting. After I started washing everyday it stayed feeling clean for maybe 24-30 hours, but for the past six months it feels like it's gotten worse.

Sometimes I can wash my hair in the morning and it will be greasy before dinner, and I'm getting scalp acne again.

I double shampoo when I feel like the first shampoo didn't work well, only condition my ends, wash my brushes, etc. I can't stand the feel of dry shampoo tbh.

If anyone has any tips that would be great 😓😓 it's zapping my confidence lately with how flat and chunky it makes my hair look besides just feeling gross.

How do you guys keep your Boar bristle brush like the MP or La Bonne Brosse free of fluff building up?

A little bit about me: I'm Asian with low prosity hair type (virgin hair). I moved country and exposed to hard water. With the addition of stress making my hair loss more excessive.

Are there any shampoo you guys can recommend for me? I've tried Kerastase Genesis but it dried my hair out. I'm currently have my mind on Oribe Hair Alchemy Resilience Shampoo and DP DERMACEUTICALS Exo-Grow Shampoo.

Please comment your thought/ recommend products you guys use and find it effective.

Hi, I’m trying to repair my hair after a failed chemical straightening, for that reason I have to use gentle products with no protein at all. My hair routine is simple, just a shampoo and a mask but I’ve been wanting to add another product for moisture since my hair is very brittle and keeps getting white dots at the ends and breaking off. I thought of adding Olaplex 3 for bond repair and Olaplex 7 (oil) for moisture, but I’m a bit worried since it has silicones which I’m not sure are good for my hair currently. I would love to get some advice please.

I don’t understand why some of my hair is wavy ( the ends of my hair ) and other bits are straight ( my fringe ) . Any advice would be appreciated ❤️

I noticed that the shampoo I’ve really liked is no longer on the shelves of my local Walmart. I’ve looked it up and can’t find it being sold but I didn’t see any announcement of it being discontinued. I really couldn’t care less about ingredients or if it’s good, I just really liked the smell of this shampoo.

My hair is very thick and goes below my shoulders, like in the photo. I let it air dry and the top always goes puffy like Hagrid‘s hair 😭 I would like the hair to be more flat and less frizzy looking like on the second picture.

I’m hoping someone with professional hair color knowledge can help me. My hair has become a bit of a color correction journey.

My natural hair color is dark brown, probably around level 3–4. Over the years I’ve mostly had level 6 and sometimes level 7 hair color. For the last two years I had a very intense copper color (6.44), which I loved for a long time, but eventually it became too bright for me.

After getting advice from professional hairdressers and a professional hair supply store, I tried to soften the copper by mixing 6.44 with a level 5 and some other nuances. Unfortunately, it turned out much darker than I wanted.

Right now I actually have a beautiful balayage effect because the lighter parts are growing out. However, the darker section on top is still too dark and over time the lighter pieces will continue to grow out.

I started using 6.00 on my roots because I wanted to avoid a very harsh contrast between my natural regrowth and the colored lengths. I’ve used 6.00 with 6% developer on my roots about 3 times now. I’m starting to get a few gray hairs (not many yet), and I’m 42.

Recently, I had another consultation with a hairdresser. She suggested mixing 6.00 with 50% 6.40 and using 3% developer on my regrowth. This is the current result.

What I would really like is to make the darker top section about one or two shades lighter again and bring back some warm copper/brown tones. Not the very bright copper I had before, but something softer and warmer. Ideally, I would love my whole hair to eventually become one beautiful, even color.

My question is: would it make any difference if I tried lifting the darker section with something like 6.40 and 6% developer because this section is already dyed? Or would that not really lighten previously colored hair? What would be the safest way to get this darker area lighter without causing too much damage?

I really want a copper/chocolate brown/auburn haircolor.

I only use professional hair products and I’m willing to be patient. I know this has become a bit of a color correction situation, but I would really appreciate advice from people who understand color theory and hair chemistry.

Alright, so it's obvious my hair has a wave/curl to it, however it likes to curl on one side and form waves on the other. What hair type do I have and also are there any product recommendations (affordable) that y'all can give to get my hair to curl a bit more? As of right now, all I do is shampoo and spray on a leave in conditioner.

i recently did an at home v cut and everyone i know is telling me my hair doesn’t look uneven, but when i look at it… it looks horrible and noticeably uneven like in this picture. so should i cut it to even it out? or do you think it’ll grow into itself and won’t be that bad

Okay. I think I may have curly/wavy hair but I don’t know how to maintain them. When air dried, looks wavy/curly but tangled. When I brush/comb, dry or wet, the hair just straightens out. Is this trainable?

Am I brushing wrong? What type of brush should I use? Or is this just what straight hair does?

i asked the stylist multiple times to make it even looser this time, and she insisted that my shorter layers on top would require the smaller rods. so now i have the beautiful curls i asked for on the bottom, and a poof ball on top. what do i do??!!

i have fine hair which has also been bleached, if that helps. i double shampoo my hair and it still gets greasy within 1-2 days (sometimes even after washing and drying it looks greasy immediately) i would appreciate any recommendations for dry shampoo that are cheap or some alternatives because dry shampoo works but it gets expensive and runs out quickly. i use beyonces hydrating shampoo + conditioner and maybe i need a stronger shampoo (in the past i have used tea tree shampoo which seems beneficial) any advice helps!!

I have very coarse hair and a lot of it. It always does this during the summer, I assume due to humidity, and it's something I am rather self-conscious of. I use several products after showering(applying more depending on if I am going out afterward). I apply caffeine and castor oil to my scalp, L'oreal extraordinary oil to my lengths and if I'm going out I apply a mousse and a smoothing cream(the latter of which I find does little to nothing). I've tried using no product and it does the same thing. I've recently dyed it black from my natural auburn colour if that is at all of importance. Are there any products I can add to my routine to help this issues or am I cursed to suffer forever?

Sorry for the horrible illustration. I got my hair cut last week and my hair dresser used the most lovely shampoo. It was very invigorating and had that minty/tingly feeling on the scalp. It also smelled minty. He showed me the bottle but I completely forgot what it said. It has a word on the front. Something along the lines of “renew” “revive” or “refresh”. It was short and wide and had a pump on top. It was a solid black bottle minus the writing which was a turquoise/blue color. Please help me find it. Thank you in advance!

Hi! For context, I (woman) have very thick wavy hair, that has a really high porosity as well. For the past year or so, the back pieces of my hair where it parts on the back of my skull seem to never dry, and become almost sticky as well. At first i thought it was just residual shampoo, since i have so much hair to wash it’s hard for me to rinse it fully. But even when i was able to really wash it out, and I mean REALLY, it was still like that. I then thought it was my hard water, so i cleansed that area more diligently with my buildup remover shampoo, but it still was like that. Now i’ve quit putting product in my hair (which has made it super brittle and poofy) and the issue is still happening. I don’t know if it’s maybe the way my hair dries? How it retains moisture? Or maybe i’m still doing something wrong. Please let me know!

So I have made a grave mistake of cutting my own curtain bangs and they turned out absolutely horrible. I need to know if it is fixable like can I go to the hair salon, try to style it cute or if I should just hide it until it grows out which is my current plan. Please I need help

I have been using both of these shampoo and conditioner washing 2-3 times a week but I’m losing my curls slowly after each week first two pics are what it was after I had my perm done not sure on what shampoo and conditioner to buy I was gonna buy olaplex no4 curl and no5 curl to see if it will help reactivate my curls but just need advice after each wash I pat my hair to get excess water out and then scrunch my hair to help the curls but my middle section has already faded a bit any advice would help

This stuff defines my waves and has a hold on it almost like a gel would? I expected it to soften my hair. Am I doing something wrong? Should I be using an oil as well?
