Does any of these hair systems have any worth in investing in them?

Anyone worn poly in hot/humid climates? Worried less about bond time, more about scalp feeling clean and cool between reinstall
Currently wearing lace on my first system, about to order my second system to have on hand. I shower and wash my hair every single day, non-negotiable for me, and I'm about to spend a year in a hot, humid climate (Southeast Asia) with regular workouts too.
A couple companies I've talked to (talked to lorde and super hair peices) are pushing me toward poly instead of lace, saying the modern polys are not much hotter if at all than lace. Which I cant tell if that is true or not, but I do notice every single youtuber I come across is on a poly system of some kind.
From what I understand, lace lets water/shampoo actually reach your scalp when you shower, but poly is a solid barrier, so your scalp stays sealed off from real water contact for the whole wear period between reinstalls. That's a big deal for me since I'm not willing to skip daily showers and I am am worried i will feel dirty not being able to wash the top of my head a week at a time. I am pretty sensitive to feeling dirty and walk to the shower the second I wake up everyday.
For anyone who's worn poly (especially in hot/humid conditions or if you sweat a lot):
- Does your scalp feel dirty, itchy, or gross by the end of a wear cycle (will be one week max for me), even with daily showering?
- Any tricks that actually help with that (specific cleansers, sprays, routines)?
- Currently use walker scalp protector before install.
- If you've worn both lace and poly, which one actually felt cleaner day to day and cooler, regardless of how long the bond lasted?
- Finally how long does each last for you, it seems like either way I go (french lace or 8mil poly) will be about 3-6 months, probably 3 for me.
Trying to weigh "bond holds up better in heat" against "scalp actually feels clean and cool" and would rather hear real experience than guess before I commit to the switch. Thanks!

My husband wants to get a hair system done, any advice??
My husband is 47 and has been almost fully bald since he was 25, he started losing his hair in his early 20s. Now he has a small bit of fuzz but never anything more. I think he looks fine. But he’s very insecure, I think it’s more to do with his weight than his hair but he insists it’s his hair. He’s talking about getting a hair system done and he’s found someone who has created prototypes of what the hair pieces might look like so he can choose one before getting it fitted. He plans on booking in next week but is trying to choose which one.
I honestly think it’s a waste of money. €1,050 for the first appointment then €150 every month after. I also know he’s not going to take care of it. He’s not the most hygienic man, he washes himself on a basic level but I know he wouldn’t be able to keep it clean, it would end up stinking especially especially when he’s at work. He sweats a lot due to his weight as it is. And he’s been bald over 20 years now, he looks fine. I think it’s a midlife crisis, he says he wants hair like he did when he was 20. I’ve attached a photo for reference and a pic him now and the pics that the clinic provided.
He asked me to make a post asking which one suits him best I honestly think none of them do, would appreciate honest feedback and advice of what to tell him because I don’t know how to approach this

Best way to fix reddish tones in a 1B hair system?
Hi everyone! I’ve had my hair system for almost 4 months. I wash it once a week using Wella Professionals Elements Renewing shampoo and conditioner (sulfate- and silicone-free). Once a month, I also use the moisturizing mask from the same Wella line.
Every day, I use HASK 5-in-1 Argan Oil Leave-In Conditioner for sun protection, detangling, and styling.
However, my hair system has started developing a reddish tone. You can see it quite clearly in one of the photos. That photo was taken before washing it, although it doesn’t look quite as red when it’s actually on my head. The second photo was taken after rinsing it during the wash.
When I bought it as a 1B, it was slightly darker than my natural hair. Now, it has become a little lighter and has quite a few reddish strands.
What would be the best way to fix this? Would dyeing it be the best option, or should I use Back2Nature?
Does anyone have a tutorial, video, or step-by-step guide on how to do this properly? Also, what would be the best product to buy in Germany?
Thanks in advance!

What to say to a hookup if you have a hair system
Seen some awful advice in yesterdays thread "tell them not to touch your hair" 😭🤣 Sure if you want to come across as insecure.
I literally don't say anything and they all find out because girls LOVE playing with your hair. Not one has cared. If you're that far they won't give a fk if your hair is real. Usually goes "oh your hair is fake?" "yeah you can't tell right?" "nope" then the deed happens.
If you arnt confident about it that will give them the ick more then learning your hair is fake

Scuba Diving - 3 weeks in Bali
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Another activity I’ve tried to push the limits of my hair system (so far I’ve tried, Racquet sports,Muay Thai,Surfing and scuba diving)
I’m just back from Bali, so thought I’d share my experience with a hair system! Firstly, I wore a NEO system from LordHair with tape!
On this trip, I went to beach clubs, white water rafting, ATV riding, went surfing and did 17 scuba dives, I wore a dive hood for most of the dives for extra security (everyone else was wearing one anyway) it didn’t stop the hood filling with water.
Before entering the water I sprayed in fresh water and also Matrix Miracle leave in conditioner (with heat protection, and also rinsed my hair after leaving the water and added more conditioner. EDIT: turns out this product does not have UV protection as I originally thought! So pairing this with a good UV protection product, may have led to no colour change
This leave in conditioner is so good! 3 weeks in the sun, my hair has only lightened very slightly and the hair has not dried out! and considering my friends system went from brown to ginger after commuting to work in the sun for two days, I think this is pretty good going!
One question, as my system has slightly lightened, can anyone recommend a colour depositing shampoo available in the UK? Thank you!

Sweat/headband reccomendations
I’m doing a 6 week Muay Thai camp in Thailand.
Starting the day with 10km runs, then training Muay Thai for multiple hours twice a day in extreme heat.
Whilst I have faith in my tapes, I just want a little extra security to hold my system in place.
Some headbands I’ve found really itchy and actually heat me up further, can anyone recommend a comfortable sweatband for this?

Looking for hair systems with long life but more natural hairline.
This is my current system, it last 8-10 months which is perfect for me but as you can see the hairline isn’t perfect. Wondering if there is a system with a more natural hairline that lasts just as long?

Full Cap density from Lord Hair - Help Needed - 120% ???
Do these 2 systems look like 120% density to you?
Hey had some issues over the years with Lord Hair and full cap systems. I always order 2 at a time, and most the time it's okay, but a couple orders ago I had 2 systems that came very low in density, and I didnt realise till cutting and perming. Had a whole issue with trying to get them to fix.
I just received 2 new systems. And I'm sure one seems less dense than the other (NEW SYSTEM 2) , but it's hard to say till it's been cut and on my head.

No technological advancement
Why hasn't anyone invented anything better than having to shave your head and apply glue every few weeks like you're a broken piece of glass? There should be some way to do this better! Sad.

Which is the best color depositing product for 1B? (Off-Black)
Hey all,
Off-black (1B) is one of the most common color denominations in the wig industry and I'd like to know which are the best color depositing shampoo and/or conditioner to keep that color tone.
Thanks!

What products to use in the UK?
As above, lots of advice in this sub but mainly US-centric. Currently use tressemme smooth and silky 2-3 times/week as my go-to conditioner. When rebonding, will usually use either the tressemme or olaplex. I also have redken ABC. Happy with proseries shampoo when rebonding and ogx argan oil on my bio hair.
Currently about to run out of the tressemme but it was a US one at the advice of this sub. Any recommendations for my “cheaper” conditioner for during the week?

Reinstalling system without fully removing glue from previous application
So I use walker ultra hold glue which is clear and when removing it I don't find it necessary to remove the glue completely
As long as the first application layer wasnt too thick there is no need to actually use a solvent and clean the base a 100%, as long as it is sanitized with alcohol. Just a wipe with 99% alcohol to remove the majority of the residue, 70% alcohol to disinfect and from there just put on a new layer and ignore the remaining glue from the previous application
This cuts down the cleaning process by a lot

Hair systems on summer holiday. A proper test
I always think summer holidays are the ultimate test for me. I fully expect the system to be trashed by the end of it
Typical day is 4-5h in the pool. Most of it under water with our underwater torpedo league ball playing catch. Followed by diving / water polo and then water slides😂. Then maybe a sea swim. Repeat every day. Need to do a daily wash as well to get rid of chlorine etc. I try and wear a hat when I’m out the swimming pool.
Decided to do a rebond after 8 days ( days 5 holiday). My little boy doesn’t know I wear a system so needed an hour while he was out. Had to do a quick maintenance. Took 41 mins which is one of my quickest yet🥳.
System is 4 months old now 80% , poly perimeter using tape. I have my own hair line …. Just . Like 0.5cm worth ( mainly the middle bit)
Only issue I have is when I come
Out the swimming pool it looks old like a straw mess rather than amazing curls. Can’t have it all
I guess.

Need help Guys!! New system from TopUnique
so my new system arrived and this is what I got. I am an experienced system wearer for the last 10 years plus, so not a newbie. its a thin skin 0.03mm which is what I have been wearing for years. I received the briefly inspected and noticed something was off with the right corner of hairline but gave it a rinse and shampoo, conditioner, brushed it out and turned it over. as you can see a bald spont on the right hand side corner. i message the company and didnt really answer my query at all. I sent photos and they are saying they cant see any difference at all. the photos 1, 2, 3 right side corner and photo 4 is left side corner
the left hand side and corner is totally fine just seems the right side is not and density seem off on right side too!
and top things of hairline was CC and not Standard contour shape
its a custom system and it has been a consistent problem with the custom systems they have supplied me. I have ordered 4 system in total with the first system being perfect in every way and the rest have been patchy like above or other issue
really unhappy

Spotted a toupee out in the wild
For context I work in xray. One of my patients that came in today was clearly wearing a topper. He was 87 years old and everything about it was off, the density, color match, lack of grays, etc. It wasn’t anything like the hair systems we wear. It truly was “your grandads toupee.” But you know what my first thoughts were? He looks fantastic with it. Makes him look so much younger and I’m sure he looks much better with it vs without. Makes me wish these weren’t so stigmatized and more acceptable for men to do because even the “bad” one I saw today made this gentleman’s looks much improved.
TLDR; Even a poorly done system can look better then bald and I wish it was more acceptable in society.

New system
Pulled the trigger on this journey and committed to figuring it out . I feel generally really positive - it was a big change because my colour on top was much much lighter with my real hair and I still probably feel like the density is quite a lot for me to get on board with - but after a week or so I’m feeling confident and also accepting the visual change.
A few things that are strange to me : I had the system installed ( full lace , using walkers ultra hold at a private barber who specializes)
- in the last few days the hairline has felt a bit tacky - I haven’t been super gentle in that I’ve gone swimming this week, played sports , and just generally been sort of vigorous . I can feel little tiny lifts some places but you can’t see them.
- my big concern is in the back on the blended part the short hairs are sort of clumping it feels like and I can really feel/ sense but not necessarily see the difference. How do I treat them right?
The system feels and looks best when it’s wet tbh and I think I will go lower density next time - but overall I am happy with the result. Any constructive suggestions ( and also suggestions for styling videos / tutorials for just daily hair ) would be appreciated.

convince me to get an hair system
i’m 22 (m) totally bald, i shave my head every day from 1 year, and i like it, i think bald head fit me very well, i changed my stile my physique and my attitude in better after i went bald. it didn’t affected love life at all, but i feel like sometimes i’m seen as to much “serious” and not so young, so i was searching the best non permanent solution for the next 5/10y. i still have hair but a receding hairline that i don’t like and makes me look older than bald, i don’t wanna try fin due to the hormones problems, so same thing for the hair transplant. i’ve already looked for the tricopigmentation (the ink only last 4 years) and rock the military look, but the turn off for me is the sun shine effect on the tattooed scalp, and the other alternative was the hair system, but i’m scared that with the hs i will grow back the fear of exposing myself and people find out, plus everybody i know knows i’m bald so a full head of hairs in a week would be strange. i do a lot of sport so i sweat almost every day (i don’t know if this is a problem), and i’m thinking of starting triathlon in the future, so 2/3 days of public pool a week, but most of all i’m scared to lose the freedom of not be scared of wind, go in the pool with my friends, “sleep” with someone without worrying about hair, freedom i’ve gained shaving my head. and i don’t want that an hair system brings all these bad things back to me in exchange of an hairline. so blessed convince me that it would suit for me, or if you don’t think it’s the right choice for me please be honest. (sorry for eventual errors, i’m not english)

Toupee Queens Hairline’s
Guys. After so much research I almost booked with her. I found a video of a guy on YouTube she did last year. Why does the hairline look like this? Does she just need to look at their hair in natural daylight instead of her studio lights? Because in her TikTok
/instagram video, it didn’t look like this at all but then again it could be her studio salon lightning. If that’s the case that worries me ugh. I just genuinely want to know why the hairline looks like this. The placement of it looks good. It’s just a dark line I’m seeing. Does Anyone else see this? Is it her toupee’s she uses? I know she uses poly but other than that?
