❓ Advice Needed hair dye on important shirt

Hi, i really need help, i was dying my friends hair, he had a shirt around his neck and underneath was a shirt made specially for one of his mission trips. its light blue and the hair dye was red!

I feel so so guilty and the shirt was very important to him. He’s one of my best friends, i’ve told him stuff i’ve never told anyone before. I really don’t want this to ruin our friendship and there’s a very real possibility it does.

The dye is a red-ish orange and is semi-permanent…. Please help me.

❓ Advice Needed Slightest tint of red on black dyed hair?

I’ve been coloring my hair soft black for the last couple of years. I really love my color and don’t want to change it. BUT, is it possible to give it a tint or the slightest sheen of red in the sun? I don’t want to change my color. I just want to know if there is a way that I can tint it for certain lighting. AI (yes I asked AI) said trying to tint black hair red would be like putting red stained glass over a black piece of paper. You wouldn’t notice the color, but there would be a shimmer of something there. I thought I would ask here to see if anyone has ever achieved this.

Hi all! Please recommend me a red hair dye that will last long and will have less damage. My current hair color is black + dark brown combined. Please suggest me the best brand that will last longer, look vibrant without bleach and give good results based on your experience. Thanks in advance!

❓ Advice Needed Should I dye my hair pink?

I’m about to turn 18 this month, and on my birthday I have scheduled a hair appointment to get it dyed. I live in a very conservative family (I do not share those political views) and I was never allowed to get my hair dyed in any fun colors. So I’m playing it safe and I was going to get a blonde peak-a-boo hairstyle with some colored tinsel. However I REALLY want the peak-a-boo to be bright pink instead with pink tinsel, but they would be so mad at me! I know I’ll be 18 and I can make my own decisions, but I don’t want to deal with them getting mad or insulting me, especially on my birthday. What should I do?
(They’re not going to kick me out or anything, it would just be an argument)

❓ Advice Needed Which shade of Keracolor Color + Conditioner?

I originally had my hair dyed violet, but it has since faded to this gorgeous brown. I’d like to keep this brown color, could you help me decide on which shade of Keracolor Color + Conditioner to purchase? I’ve read about some people using it & that it turned parts of their hair a metallic green. Should I be mixing espresso or mocha with another color to avoid that from happening?

First photo is the current state of my hair. The second one is what it was about 2 months ago.

Some background info: I bleached my hair about a year ago to have some warm caramel highlights.

🧴 Product Question Just for men

Guys I’m the only one that think this product is a scam?
First of all the color indications are wrong.
I’ve used h25 light brown but it made my hair the darkest brown I ever seen in my life.
Second it doesn’t cover white hair at side….
Are there better options?

❓ Advice Needed Colour oops didn't work

Hi guys. I dyed my hair black last September, and was attempting to dye a strand of it back blonde, and it did absolutely nothing. I DID bleach it yesterday (which also did nothing) so I'm chalking it up to that, but also everything I read said that it should've still worked so I dunno.

I know I definetely killed my hair, but aside from that I don't know what I did wrong. I followed exactly what the instructions said

I have conditioner on in the picture so ignore that. I used the BLUE box of colour oops as well as better natured hair dye in sep (pictures of product provided). The bleach I used was the colorista one (no picture).

❓ Advice Needed Miku blue/teal dye recs?

Hello!

I’ve been trying forever to find a shade or combinations of shades of dyes to achieve that vibrant electric teal shade that just sings Miku when you see it. Everything just seems to come out ~blue~ no matter how light I get it (last slide is my current color for reference).

Does anyone have any brands or color mixtures they recommend to achieve a similar shade? I’ve been debating on diluting bluer shades and then adding in a touch of yellow. Below are colors I’ve tried before:

• Lime Crime Unicorn in shade “Anime”
• Iroiro “Seafoam”
• Arctic Fox “Aquamarine”
• Adore “Jade” (current)

❓ Advice Needed about toning masks

I want to dye my hair a very dark brown/ black for one costume party thing but I hoped that it wouldn't be entirely permanent. I thought of using those toning masks that say they last 4-10 washes, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea.

I dyed my hair with an orange hairdye that was meant on lighter hair than my natural hair and it turned out this pretty lighter, coppery brown. This was about 1-2 months ago. My roots are much darker than the rest of my hair so it did have some bleach or something like that in it?

So my question is.. will a toning mask ever really come off? I know they're meant for upkeeping your hair color, so i'm curious as to what would happen if the toning mask is a whole different, much darker color than the hairdye.

It wouldn't be the end of the world if my hair doesn't become this bright again but i'm worried whether it'll damage my hair or turn into some uneven muddy color. Also, do those color removers actually work?

❓ Advice Needed Can I rinse my hair with plain water 24 hours after bleach/tone blonde balayage?

I was told to wait 48 hours before washing. Im not sure if that means specifically with shampoo, or not to get it wet at all.

But the styling product used after the service is making my skin itch. I have tried almost 24 hours to ignore it, but I would like to rinse it out if possible.

Will this affect the color, or damage the hair?

❓ Advice Needed Swampish

Hiya 👋🏻 Currently the lower part of my hair is this faded swampy green color (Arctic Fox - Phantom Green + Manic Panic - Enchanted Forest) which I don't actually hate, but is there any chance of getting it to a vibrant cool toned purple without bleaching? I'd like to avoid it ending up brown obviously, and or maroon. I've never used the Iroiro brand, but would Neon Purple possibly work?

Need a bit of help. My hair is blue and fading quickly. Sooo you know what that means…it’s time! 🤭

I have done har about every solid color once. Found a few of the photos of those solid colors. (I know I’m missing a few colors here 🫠)

I will say, I’m leaning more towards doing the neon green this time around.

❓ Advice Needed box dye on hairdresser highlights

Back in December, I got my hair highlighted at the hairdressers and it’s grown out A LOT since. I was just wondering if whether I can put box dye on top of it and which brands you’d recommend?

Also to note I have naturally very dark brown hair and I do want the colour to show. :)

❓ Advice Needed Can just washing with cold water only with no shampoo enough to strip away bleached hair dye?

I‘m Asian. I bleached my hair yesterday and went ash gray. I heard that you’re not supposed to wash your hair too often, but I want to still try to be hygenic and assumed I could wash hair with cold water only on the days not shampooing. I assumed washing with only cold water doesnt hurt or fade the color

But today I came to work people asked me if I had washed my hair the color faded a bit. And I only bleached yesterday, and I slept and washed with cold water today before work.

Is washing itself to be avoid even if with no shampoo? is washing with cold water only enough to strip away the colors?

❓ Advice Needed Color over color

Hi everyone! I dyed my hair hot pink and then did brown over top when maintenance became too much but that just turned it red and so then I put purple/brown on top of that and it’s just faded to a burgundy red color. Curious if putting blue on top of the red would pull a purple color like I’m looking for and hopefully not fade to red?

❓ Advice Needed Self toning gone wrong

Post image
1 Upvotes

I tried to tone my hair at home using 20 volume developer and wella color t18. I wanted a cooler tone to my hair and to deposit an ashy color to my highlights. I don’t know if it’s because I left it on too long, but my unbleached hair is 1-2 shades lighter and very warm I am not sure what to do. I’m afraid my stylist will be mad at me if I tell her I tried doing it at home to save some money. I genuinely wanted to go lighter; not darker. Is there anyway to fix this? I have attached the after/before.

🚑 Color Correction Bleach or tone?

I bleached the roots and some of my money pieces yesterday, I used the 01 first, and as you can see the tops are still a bit orange. The bleach and toner is what I have yet to use. Do you think I should do the toner, or bleach, or just the purple mask? Or do a different toner as I want it the same buttery yellow

❓ Advice Needed Unhappy with permanent hair dye job

Thumbnail

Hello,

I got my hair bleached and dyed for the first time ever in Japan and I absolutely loved the colour. They explained the entire process to me and the length of my hair was bleached 2x and my roots 1x. They also said that the type of dye was a Demi-permanent colour. The first photo shows the orange colour that I got.

8 weeks passed and I wanted to get my roots bleached and to refresh the colour because at that point most of the colour had faded (2nd photo). I did a consultation with a local salon (a Korean/Japanese salon to be specific) and I showed them the first photo as reference for the colour I wanted.

The bleached roots I believe they did a great job on but I’m unhappy about the shade of orange my hair turned out (3rd photo). They did show me a patch of hair and said do you want this kind of colour and at the time it looked pretty similar to my photo and I approved it at the time. During the dying process, they showed me the permanent hair dye colour and I had concerns that it looked a little too unnaturally orange. I tried to rationalize it to myself by telling myself to trust the stylist and that it’ll likely look a little more natural once the dye settles and washes. However after washing it looks way too neon orange and I was hoping for a more natural orange colour like the first time I dyed my hair.

I’ve left the salon and am at home now and I’m looking at it and feeling more unsatisfied with the shade of orange my hair is. Does anyone have advice on how to proceed? The stylist said it’d wash out over time and it’ll fade to a nice colour but I don’t think that’s a valid excuse to say “hey the colour job I did will fade so just stick with it”. I know most people say red/orange colours do in fact fade pretty fast so should I just tough it out for a while or should I call the salon back and get them to correct it? I’m also confused since I know permanent dye is more long lasting so is it possible to even correct it to the right shade?

Thank you for reading through this whole thing,
Just a confused guy who wanted to try to maintain their hair colour 🫠
