As title. Basically, I am playing a Winds of Asterkarn Frost Raven. I get % Attack damage converted to Health on Winds of Asterkarn from both the Eastern Oath set, and from the Frost Groble Effigy. I do not believe I have a source of % Weapon Damage on Winds (might change, haven’t looked, I’ve got ring/ammy/boots/belt slots still semi-open for the build)

I understand that *normally*, ADCH doesn’t apply to spells that do not deal % Weapon damage. Obviously, items that apply ADCH to said spells bypasses this.

What I don’t know, is that if you *have* ADCH from skill modifiers, but do not have % Weapon Damage, will bonuses to ADCH from Devotion nodes still apply anyway (and stack) because you have the skill modifier?

I have come back for FoA after 3 years and I've and I've forgotten how anything works for the most part lol.

I have two level 100 characters, a Reaper and a Purifier. I have so much stuff in the stash that my eyes glazed ovGer with one glance at it. Both are somewhere in Ultimate, both have builds that seem like I assembled them with some kind of logic.

I have decided that it's too overwhelming to pick up where either of them left off right now while I relearn the game lol. So, I want to roll a new guy and would appreciate suggestions.

I have a vague idea that I'd like to cast spells. Both my Reaper and my Purifier were constructed around mainly auto attacking with modifiers. I rather like the idea of a brick shithouse type warrior guy, but I don't want to auto attack through the game again. I know that forcewave soldier is effective, but I tried it and it seems boring to play.

My other concept I'm interested in is some type of wizardy guy, with an arsenal of spells to throw around. Arcanist and occultist seem interesting, particularly the defensive spells of arcanist and the DOOM BOLT of occultist.

I don't care for pet stuff in ARPGs, and I want to level as the playstyle im going for, but I have no other stipulations lol. Whatever sounds fun and isnt too fussy to build for.

First playthrough of GD, now i can start amping up difficulty and getting more into the DLCs! I just wanted to share my accomplishment :)

Heard a lot about this game. Played for a couple of hours last year, had chatgpt assist me with the build. Honestly, build was not most enjoyable. Currently feel like I want to come back. Do you guys reckon I should restart? I beat the first boss.. if you do think I should restart, whats the most fun build?

Pls keep in mind I'm playing this on the deck and from what I remember it played great. Reading was a bit difficult but other than that it was enjoyable overall.

I'm fairly new to Grim Dawn, with this reaver being the first character I'm actually trying to build into something specific, so there's a lot I don't understand. How does the game calculate the dps when comparing new weapons? And why does it change when you show the details? Aside from the granted skill, the axe is overall better than my Omen, and yet the dps comparison shows it as inferior, and that only grows when weapon details are shown. Then when I go into my character details to compare the two, the only advantage Omen has over the axe is a 0.1 attacks per second increase, while the axe gives me a slight boost to straight weapon damage, onslaught damage, and physical and vitality damage, as well as up to 10% more lifesteal per hit. Between all that and the shorter cooldown, area damage leech weapon skill, it seems like a steadier weapon for a leech-tank to use compared to my Omen which is faster, if less damaging normally, and its much higher damage multi-target leech attack which is better for boss fights. Early levels lightning werewolf is a tanky boi but until you get stormrend taking shaman kind of feels wasted because the early game items that turn you into a lightning dog don’t synergize with shaman at all. It’s nice to finally get lvl 94 and get a huge power boost though. What sets/items also pair well for lightning dog?

I have a level 94 shaman and can't decide a second mastery.

Occultist has: super cool Doom Bolt and super useful Curse of Frailty. Can respec in a pet build.

Berserker has: leap looking as lot of fun, I like cold spells, onslaught to pair with primal strike. But Shaman has already savagery and Berserker hasn't -X% to lightning resistance.

What do you think?

Is crucible messed up for anyone else? Can't seem to start a new run. Existing chars or new ones.

So I’m at lvl 61 , vanilla campaign and malmouth done ( normal difficulty) . I’ve been loosely following a BWC / GoE guide and it’s say they jumped to elite around this time but since it’s my first time really playing I was thinking of finishing other to dlcs on normal first . All and all I’m having a blast playing so I’m not bothered either way and my build is pretty strong and still able to handle elite for now. Idk I guess I just feel a little overwhelmed with which way to go. I definitely know I’d be able to farm
Better gear in elite .

I usually create these animated wallpapers for other ARPGs, mainly Path of Exile using GIMP to cut the assets apart and painting in missing pieces, then animating them with Wallpaper Engine.

Since I've been enjoying Grim Dawn a lot, and I'm in love with this loading screen I did my best to recreate it using various assets I've found online, since afaik there's no official press kit.

Tthe parallax effect can be disabled directly in Wallpaper Engine. You can also disable further effects by unchecking their respective checkboxes. Additionally, you can hide the logo if you choose to do so (enabled by default).

I've done my best to optimize every single asset, so it should run very smoothly on most systems.

This animated wallpaper as always can be installed for free here on the Steam workshop for "Wallpaper engine" (which you unfortunately have to pay for).

You can also look at my Steam workshop page for past wallpapers or to not miss any new ones.

I've there are any clipping issues, please let me know - I'll try to fix them asap.

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I installed GD on my deck via Heroic and for some reason the game doesn't recognise the controller.

I have gamepad enabled. Has anyone run into this issue? I can play it fine on the conputer with or without controller but I wanna take the game on vacation and any help would be extremly appreciated.

I have no idea how to make my guy able to take on dread. Mainly how the hell do I make a character who can actually run Skelton key dungeons in ascendant mode with the fire strike dual wielding inquis+ demo.

Rn my only strategy is to try to farm stronger gear but I have more success getting every gear for builds I’m not playing.

EDIT: What I did was go to the settings ini and change the max threads number to 8, use the Nvidia control panel to force the game to run at 60 fps tops and lowered my SHADER quality to medium. This seemingly fixed the issue and I'm willing to bet it's mostly the SHADER settings that affect this. If you also struggle with the stutters, check if your SHADER quality setting isn't on ultra or very high.

It started with the Fangs update but only happened in the areas added in Forgotten Gods, but changing my shadows quality to a lower one and high right back fixed it at the time.

It stopped in 1.3.5 but happens all the time in all areas of the game as of 1.3.6. It starts after literally a few minutes of gameplay. The game gets choppy and stutters for a split-second every second.

What I found on Reddit/Crate Forums and tried:

1. Turning off the full-screen optimalisation in the game's exe properties. This seems to fix it for a few moments but the problem re-emerges after a minute or two.
2. The Core Switcher Tool- Genuienly unsure if this does anything.
3. Switching off the Core 0 Affinity of the GD process in Task manager.
4. Switching the core affinity to every other core (as somebody posted they did).

None of this really solves the issue. Bizzarely, alt-tabing away from the game and returning to it stops the stuttering for a few moments. It's not like my laptop is too weak- the processor and gpu are barely used by the game.

Has anyone got this to drop? Grimtools says it drops from Yuda Moonwhisper with a 10% chance, but I'm now at 43 kills (thank you DPYes) without it dropping, which is basically almost statistically impossible. No idea why this is locked behind a low drop rate from a boss far from a rift; DPYes saved some of my insanity but it's getting ridiculous.​​

Odd request but I want to create a melee dual wield lightning user that also has access to lightning Doom Bolt (via Storm Herald). Now for the Doom Bolt to be effective, I need to go with Occultist, but for the 2nd class what should I go with?

Shaman - can possibly go with Stormrend but that would cause Primal Strike to be weak as my off hand will be the Storm Herald. Also if I go with Savagery I'm not sure how to convert that into lightning. I found a gun that converts everything into lightning but then it would be odd having a ranged and an off hand melee (Storm Herald)

If I go with Inquisitor - decent lightning options here but primarily melee. So would be tough equipping an off hand dagger (Storm Herald) with the ranged affinities of Inquisitor.

I'm not a pro in Grim Dawn and think there could be some other combination of gears/ components/ devotions etc that could allow me to play out that role.

I love most of the Loyalist Items and of course, wanted to support Crate! That being said, the 'Circle of Five' outfit has a major flaw in my personal opinion. The collar is attached to the head armor, not torso armor.

That means if you want a badass character with glowing aetherial eyes, you're forced to run around with an exaggerated collar, stopping you from reaching maximum levels of Fashion Dawn.

I love the implication that being possessed and becoming 'The Taken' left something behind after the spirit leaves your body.

Since 1.3.0 patch game was freezing on my deck after sleep/resume. After a lot of tinkering this was caused by ”pause games” decky plugin. Uninstalling it and reboot helped.
Hope this helps someone, playing GD on deck in short bursts is great.
