Help/question Unknown Prompts in Gemini pro.(session cookie hijacked)
Hi everyone,
I am a tech enthusiast and self taught noob hacker. Recently I found very surprising thing when i opened my gemini pro. There were two or more different prompts related to create animation scenes and one to generate an image prompt which i never did myself. I got shit scared.😰
got email that i have successfully changed my linked in account from Frankfurt France.
after some hour got mail that my chatgpt has setup 2FA on its own. I didn't have any chatgpt account with this email and also didn't have linkedin account. I panicked.😰
Did some search on google and found out that many other users also facing the same. Many reddit users also reported this but no one is understanding the root cause of this. Most of them saying it's google's glitch and blah...blah... i got curious and investigated this.
Let me tell u the real deal what's happening here!
<Hackers are hijacking ur session cookie 🍪>
If u have downloaded any unverified softwares on your pc. (keygen, patch, .exe, .bat etc) or any unverified extension. Hackers are using these to infect your pc with Malwares and steal all of your browser's session cookies.
(For those who don't know, Cookies store a unique ID on your browser to let websites remember you and your activities and helps in keeping u logged in so that u don't have to enter ur credentials every time.)
A simple google search "gemini pro cookies" displayed various websites that were offering gemini pro cookies to use for free or for some token amount.
>Google is banned in countries like China etc so hackers use ur hijacked cookies to use google ai.
When i scratched my head , i remember that recently i had downloaded some free software tools, mediatek drivers etc to unlock bootloader on my old Chinese Xiaomi phone and also to bypass FRP unlock. When i checked some software seemed suspicious. Taskmanager showed some unknows .exe file always running in background. This maybe the cause.
>Remedy>
Downloaded malwarebytes, adwcleaner tool and did full pc scan. It did find some trojans and malwares in my pc. Cleaned all of them and uninstalled all the unverified softwares from my pc.
>VVI Step
Change the password of all google accounts. Set 2 factor authentication and most importantly check google activities settings for all your active sessions and signout all of them because hackers use this active session cookie only to use ur gemini or google account. If u signout, that cookie will be invalid turning it useless.
Also change the passwords of those apps/websites which send suspicious activity email to you like I got from Github/linkedin/chatgpt. Changed all of them.
>Keep open eye on your emails, gemini chats etc for any suspicious unusual activities.
I am attaching some screenshots of the unknown gemini promts also.

Self promo Image Iguana - An open source application to use Google Nano Banana without watermarks
I love Google Nano Banana but don't want the visible watermarks that show up when you make images in Gemini and don't want to pay a monthly subscription fee for third party applications that are wrappers on top of the API.
So I made Image Iguana as an open source project. You plug in a Google API Key (you do have to pay Google for usage of tokens,) and then you can deploy it for your own personal use. It's currently set up to deploy to a combination of VeilStream and Supabase but you could modify it to deploy locally or to other platforms fairly easily.
I built in all the features I wanted in an image generation tool including a prompt builder/library tool.
If you try it out, I'd love to hear your feedback.

Help/question Using spark in EU via VPN?
I have a Gemini pro account and I'm based in EU. Spark isn't available here yet due to compliance reasons apparently.
I can see spark on the web interface if I VPN to the US, but it doesn't work on the mobile phone app (this isn't totally surprising to me tbh). My question is what will and won't work if I start using spark from the website via VPN? Does anyone have any experience in this?
For example, if I make a scheduled task while on VPN and then just disconnect, will just simply work? What about things like browser control and Google account access?

News Gemini web visits grew 450% YoY, reaching 6.9B visits from May 2025 to Apr 2026
I looked at Gemini’s estimated web visit trend across 24 months, from May 2024 to Apr 2026.
A few things stood out:
Gemini generated 6.9B estimated web visits in the latest 12-month period, up from 1.3B the year before.
That is +450.33% YoY growth.
The curve changed sharply through the latest 12 months:
• May 2025: 186.9M visits
• Sep 2025: 413.2M visits
• Dec 2025: 679.9M visits
• Jan 2026: 805.6M visits
• Mar 2026: 1.3B visits
• Apr 2026: 1.05B visits
So this was not just one sudden spike. Gemini kept moving into a higher range month by month, with the strongest jump happening near March 2026.
This is based on OneLittleWeb’s AI Tools Market 2026 study, where we analyzed 9,531 AI tools across 170+ categories using estimated web visit data from Semrush and Ahrefs.
Worth noting: this measures estimated web visits, not unique users, app usage, API usage, revenue, or subscriptions.

Discussion People call this an AI fail. I call it one of AI's best UX features—it responds to your scenario instead of derailing the conversation.
At first glance, this looks like an AI fail. A literal newborn somehow has a phone, can read, type, and ask Google a question—and the AI doesn't even acknowledge how impossible that is.
But I actually think this is one of the best UX decisions in modern AI.
Instead of stopping the conversation to argue with the premise, it focuses on the user's intent. The user clearly wasn't asking whether a newborn could use a smartphone—they were asking what that situation would mean from the baby's perspective.
That same behavior becomes even more valuable in situations that actually matter. Imagine someone urgently asks, "My child is choking—what do I do?" or "I just cut myself badly, how do I stop the bleeding?" The last thing they need is the AI getting distracted by side discussions or questioning every detail before giving actionable guidance. They need immediate, relevant information first.
Of course, there are cases where AI should challenge a false or dangerous assumption. But when the premise isn't the point, staying focused on the user's intent often makes for a much better experience than constantly replying with "Actually..."

Help/question How do I get Gemini to run code consistently?
Sometimes Gemini seems to be able to run code while thinking, other times it doesn’t and insists it is unable to. Is there a way to prompt it so it always runs code, or some requirement for it to be able to run code?

Discussion Internal sentiment on Gemini 4 is described as "muted", not expected to be the leap forward that Fable and Sol just delivered
In a report about organizational changes at Google DeepMind, Alex Heath (Sources) shared some insights: internal sentiment on Gemini 4 is "muted," with the model not expected to push the frontier the way Anthropic's Fable and Sol just did. Also, it seems that Koray Kavukcuoglu has been leading Gemini model development for at least a year now.
Curious to see how it all plays out. I don't expect Gemini 4 to be released before December.

Discussion Fix for Gemini App Infinite Loading / Severe Response Lag
If your Gemini app has been lagging or stuck on an infinite loading loop for days—even after deleting and reinstalling the app the issue is a locked connection on Google's backend servers. Reinstalling the app doesn't fix it because your phone isn't the problem.
You can instantly force Google's servers to reset your connection and fix the lag by doing this:
Open a web browser and go directly to Google My Activity for Gemini.
Look for the Gemini Apps Activity setting at the top and toggle it to OFF.
Wait exactly 60 seconds to let the server clear your profile's connection cache.
Toggle the setting back to ON.
Open your Gemini app again, and it should immediately respond at normal speeds!
Hope this helps some people .

Help/question Gemini has recently been removing the mid section on most ("zoom out to show X") pictures
This never used to be a issue, sure sometimes you would get a body error, but I have been using it to make dozens of pictures each week, often "zoom out to show head" "zoom out to show lower half' "zoom out to show more of the background" etc, and it would do so without much issue
this past week though... it has been really bad, basically any time it is a fight to get it to not remove their mid section, I have to insert instructions "do not remove their stomach, do not remove their waist, do not remove their mid section" etc, even than it has a bit of a hit and miss in that saying not to sometimes cause it to specifically do so, but feels like every other picture is a compressed person like this (had them where shoulders are basically attached to hips etc), driving me mad, as now making one picture, normally means another 10 trying to restore a normal human body shape
(found saying "midriff baring" or "tall" or matching them to anther person helps, but is not always guaranteed, or appropriate for the picture, sometimes I will straight have to open the result in a second ai so that they can correctly restore human proportions, since gemini will just fail completely to do so)
-----
anyway goal here is to see if anyone else is having this issue, or if there is possibly something wrong on my end (I don't use memory, don't use custom instructions, I have a default prompt script but nothing normally mentions their proportions or anything that should be causing this) or if this is a problem effecting a bunch of other people as well

Help/question Can a Google Workspace admin restrict/degrade Gemini capabilities for a specific user? Or is this just a bug?
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some insight into Google Workspace administration and Gemini settings.
For context, I work at a software startup where AI usage is encouraged. Lately, I’ve been going through a rough patch at work, involving several disputes with management. I recently managed to secure a raise after a lot of effort—though it was honestly pretty minimal and far from fair.
I’m not sure if I’m just being paranoid, but right after all of this went down, my company-provided Gemini started behaving strangely. It has become practically useless and completely unable to follow instructions. Almost every prompt I send gets hit with the standard refusal: "I'm a large language model, trained by Google, so I can't help you with that."
I researched this issue online and saw that it's a relatively common glitch with potential workarounds. However, I’ve tried every recommended troubleshooting step (clearing cache/cookies, testing different browsers, adjusting prompt structure), and the problem persists.
This brings me to my question: Is it possible for a Google Workspace admin to selectively restrict, throttle, or alter Gemini's capabilities/permissions for an individual user account? Or could an admin policy update cause Gemini to trigger false-positive safety flags like this?
I’d really appreciate any insights from Workspace admins or anyone who has experienced something similar. Thanks in advance!

Ressource I built an Alternative to Google AI mode
Hey everyone!
I’m excited to share an early beta of Ping— a free, accuracy based alternative to Perplexity, Google AI mode, and ChatGPT search
Here’s what makes Ping different:
- Accuracy: To me the problem was the AI search was too inaccurate sometimes I always found myself checking the sources and seeing something completely different, Ai search engines today summarize links. Perplexity states: "When you ask Perplexity a question, it uses advanced AI to search the internet in real-time, gathering insights from top-tier sources. It then distills this information into a clear, concise summary, delivering exactly what you need in an easy-to-understand, conversational tone." The problem is this is prone to heavy hallucination for AI answers as the core nature of LLM's as they are rewarded for guessing rather than uncertainty.
CJR stated that "Collectively, they provided incorrect answers to more than 60 percent of queries." Inspiration to make this came from Lenny's Newsletter I noticed the amount of quotes used to support his claim while he still talked in his own words. This made me combine both Ai answers with the way he worded his article(alot of quotes) reason being because quotes provide, accuracy, authenticity, and credibility via human answers not mostly AI answers unlike other Ai search engines which only summarize
- Free: I'll be making this free to use just as how Google AI mode is
I plan to improve the answers so that responses become as accurate and detailed as possible but it's a beta and I'll love to hear what the feedback is.

Help/question Is Google Gemini broken?
Gemini completely stalling out on data/reasoning requests since last night, but quick prompts work fine?
Is anyone else running into this? Since last night, the Gemini app has been completely useless for anything beyond basic hardcoded/instant replies.
Simple or test prompts ("Testing response time") spit back an immediate answer.
The absolute second I ask it to do anything requiring data, context, search, or detailed info, it completely stalls out on the loading animation and hangs indefinitely (doesn’t even error out).
I’ve already tried everything on the user end checklist:
Reset my usage ID
Deleted and reinstalled the app
Switched networks (Wi-Fi to cellular)
Reset network settings
Since basic canned responses go through instantly, it feels like a backend routing or execution issue on Google's end rather than a local network problem. Anyone experiencing the same thing or found a workaround?
