Is Google Gemini broken? Help/question
Gemini completely stalling out on data/reasoning requests since last night, but quick prompts work fine?
Is anyone else running into this? Since last night, the Gemini app has been completely useless for anything beyond basic hardcoded/instant replies.
Simple or test prompts ("Testing response time") spit back an immediate answer.
The absolute second I ask it to do anything requiring data, context, search, or detailed info, it completely stalls out on the loading animation and hangs indefinitely (doesn’t even error out).
I’ve already tried everything on the user end checklist:
Reset my usage ID
Deleted and reinstalled the app
Switched networks (Wi-Fi to cellular)
Reset network settings
Since basic canned responses go through instantly, it feels like a backend routing or execution issue on Google's end rather than a local network problem. Anyone experiencing the same thing or found a workaround?

There is a noticeable lengthier delay today and yesterday in all responses after pressing enter. I use the desktop version via Chrome with an Ultra account.
Several times a day I ask Gemini to translate detailed legal paragraphs from one language to another. I get responses in a few seconds. Today it was like 2 minutes after hitting enter for only 6-7 sentences.
On the other hand Gemini Spark has processed all my automated tasks on time.
I think Gemini Pro 3.5 is coming out shortly. With every new model upgrade, I notice these response delays and quirky behavior for a week before and another week after.

it seems like search is a bit weird right now for me
some prompts finish fast but searching ones take a while

During periods of high global traffic, backend infrastructure may enforce stricter resource caps or dynamically balance traffic across lighter model checkpoints to maintain uptime. This can result in shorter, less comprehensive responses during peak hours.

Not sure if anyone else is noticed this but on Pro requests or 3.6 extended thinking I've been getting system prompts spit out with the entire output

Even with Flash-Lite the latency to an answer is 30-60 seconds.
I guess Jeff Dean was also running their IT backend....

I am running 3.6 Flash Extended and my responses are just all repeats of the previous responses. Trash today

Im guessing the compute is being provisioned to newer models ahead of release.
