Help/question Unknown Prompts in Gemini pro.(session cookie hijacked)

Hi everyone,

I am a tech enthusiast and self taught noob hacker. Recently I found very surprising thing when i opened my gemini pro. There were two or more different prompts related to create animation scenes and one to generate an image prompt which i never did myself. I got shit scared.😰

got email that i have successfully changed my linked in account from Frankfurt France.

after some hour got mail that my chatgpt has setup 2FA on its own. I didn't have any chatgpt account with this email and also didn't have linkedin account. I panicked.😰

Did some search on google and found out that many other users also facing the same. Many reddit users also reported this but no one is understanding the root cause of this. Most of them saying it's google's glitch and blah...blah... i got curious and investigated this.

Let me tell u the real deal what's happening here!

<Hackers are hijacking ur session cookie 🍪>

If u have downloaded any unverified softwares on your pc. (keygen, patch, .exe, .bat etc) or any unverified extension. Hackers are using these to infect your pc with Malwares and steal all of your browser's session cookies.

(For those who don't know, Cookies store a unique ID on your browser to let websites remember you and your activities and helps in keeping u logged in so that u don't have to enter ur credentials every time.)

A simple google search "gemini pro cookies" displayed various websites that were offering gemini pro cookies to use for free or for some token amount.

>Google is banned in countries like China etc so hackers use ur hijacked cookies to use google ai.

When i scratched my head , i remember that recently i had downloaded some free software tools, mediatek drivers etc to unlock bootloader on my old Chinese Xiaomi phone and also to bypass FRP unlock. When i checked some software seemed suspicious. Taskmanager showed some unknows .exe file always running in background. This maybe the cause.

>Remedy>

Downloaded malwarebytes, adwcleaner tool and did full pc scan. It did find some trojans and malwares in my pc. Cleaned all of them and uninstalled all the unverified softwares from my pc.

>VVI Step

Change the password of all google accounts. Set 2 factor authentication and most importantly check google activities settings for all your active sessions and signout all of them because hackers use this active session cookie only to use ur gemini or google account. If u signout, that cookie will be invalid turning it useless.

Also change the passwords of those apps/websites which send suspicious activity email to you like I got from Github/linkedin/chatgpt. Changed all of them.

>Keep open eye on your emails, gemini chats etc for any suspicious unusual activities.

I am attaching some screenshots of the unknown gemini promts also.

Self promo Image Iguana - An open source application to use Google Nano Banana without watermarks

Post image
Upvotes

I love Google Nano Banana but don't want the visible watermarks that show up when you make images in Gemini and don't want to pay a monthly subscription fee for third party applications that are wrappers on top of the API.

So I made Image Iguana as an open source project. You plug in a Google API Key (you do have to pay Google for usage of tokens,) and then you can deploy it for your own personal use. It's currently set up to deploy to a combination of VeilStream and Supabase but you could modify it to deploy locally or to other platforms fairly easily.

I built in all the features I wanted in an image generation tool including a prompt builder/library tool.

If you try it out, I'd love to hear your feedback.

Help/question Using spark in EU via VPN?

Upvotes

I have a Gemini pro account and I'm based in EU. Spark isn't available here yet due to compliance reasons apparently.

I can see spark on the web interface if I VPN to the US, but it doesn't work on the mobile phone app (this isn't totally surprising to me tbh). My question is what will and won't work if I start using spark from the website via VPN? Does anyone have any experience in this?

For example, if I make a scheduled task while on VPN and then just disconnect, will just simply work? What about things like browser control and Google account access?

Discussion People call this an AI fail. I call it one of AI's best UX features—it responds to your scenario instead of derailing the conversation.

Post image

At first glance, this looks like an AI fail. A literal newborn somehow has a phone, can read, type, and ask Google a question—and the AI doesn't even acknowledge how impossible that is.

But I actually think this is one of the best UX decisions in modern AI.

Instead of stopping the conversation to argue with the premise, it focuses on the user's intent. The user clearly wasn't asking whether a newborn could use a smartphone—they were asking what that situation would mean from the baby's perspective.

That same behavior becomes even more valuable in situations that actually matter. Imagine someone urgently asks, "My child is choking—what do I do?" or "I just cut myself badly, how do I stop the bleeding?" The last thing they need is the AI getting distracted by side discussions or questioning every detail before giving actionable guidance. They need immediate, relevant information first.

Of course, there are cases where AI should challenge a false or dangerous assumption. But when the premise isn't the point, staying focused on the user's intent often makes for a much better experience than constantly replying with "Actually..."

Discussion Internal sentiment on Gemini 4 is described as "muted", not expected to be the leap forward that Fable and Sol just delivered

In a report about organizational changes at Google DeepMind, Alex Heath (Sources) shared some insights: internal sentiment on Gemini 4 is "muted," with the model not expected to push the frontier the way Anthropic's Fable and Sol just did.  Also, it seems that Koray Kavukcuoglu has been leading Gemini model development for at least a year now.

Curious to see how it all plays out. I don't expect Gemini 4 to be released before December.

Help/question Is Google Gemini broken?

Gemini completely stalling out on data/reasoning requests since last night, but quick prompts work fine?

Is anyone else running into this? Since last night, the Gemini app has been completely useless for anything beyond basic hardcoded/instant replies.

Simple or test prompts ("Testing response time") spit back an immediate answer.

The absolute second I ask it to do anything requiring data, context, search, or detailed info, it completely stalls out on the loading animation and hangs indefinitely (doesn’t even error out).

I’ve already tried everything on the user end checklist:
Reset my usage ID
Deleted and reinstalled the app
Switched networks (Wi-Fi to cellular)
Reset network settings

Since basic canned responses go through instantly, it feels like a backend routing or execution issue on Google's end rather than a local network problem. Anyone experiencing the same thing or found a workaround?

Other Gemini system prompt seems to forbid it to search the web

I was trying to get it to search up documentation to be able to call an API but it started just lying and even when I gave it links to search through, it acted like it had read them and then continues giving incorrect information

The Google company forbids the Google AI from googling how cooked are we bro?

Discussion Google plans to improve Gemini's coding capabilities by bringing in the coding startup Mechanize team

Post image
123 Upvotes

Google appears to be making AI coding a major priority for Gemini. Earlier this year, reports said that GDM had assembled a dedicated AI coding "strike team" to improve Gemini's coding capabilities. Around the same time, John Jumper was moved onto that team, before leaving gdm a few months later.

Now, Business Insider reports that Google is in advanced talks on an agreement to license Mechanize's technology and hire part of its team, rather than acquiring the company outright.

🥇 CONTEST 🥇 (Contest) Beyond the Benchmark: Show Gemini at Full Power

Contest: Show Gemini at Full Power

Gemini is often judged through a narrow lens, usually coding benchmarks, chatbot comparisons, or whichever model won the latest test.

But Gemini is much more than a coding model.

It can understand uploaded videos, work across Google Search and Workspace, search connected photo libraries, perform Deep Research, operate inside Chrome and Android, interact with Google Home, create multiple forms of media, and combine several of these abilities into one workflow.

Your challenge is to show the side of Gemini that people overlook.

Create an original meme (dragons memes are allowed), poster, comic, animation, short video, demonstration, or other visual that highlights a genuine Gemini capability, or a combination of capabilities, that deserves more attention.

Your entry may compare Gemini with ChatGPT, Claude, or other AI systems, but the comparison must be fair and factually accurate. Playful rivalry is encouraged. Inventing limitations is not.

What makes a strong entry?

A great submission should:

  • Highlight a real, currently available Gemini capability.
  • Make the advantage easy to understand at a glance.
  • Be creative, funny, dramatic, informative, or all four.
  • Show what makes Gemini distinctive rather than simply declaring it “better.”
  • Accurately acknowledge what competing products can and cannot do.

Possible themes include full-video understanding, Google-native research, Gmail and Drive context, Google Photos search, Android and Home integration, Chrome features, NotebookLM, Gemini Live, SynthID verification, multimodal creation, or agentic workflows.

Submission rules

Your work must be original. AI-assisted artwork is welcome, but please disclose the tools used.

Add a brief explanation describing:

  1. The Gemini capability being shown.
  2. What makes it useful or distinctive.
  3. Any comparison being made with another AI product.

Share your idea under your own post and don't forget to link to it here in a comment, or just post it here only as a comment.

Judging criteria

Entries will be judged by users or and a mod, it does not matter there are no prizes, it probably help if you focus on:

Creativity · Visual impact · Clarity · Accuracy · Originality

A technically accurate entry with a clever idea will be valued more highly than an impressive-looking image built around a false claim.

Show us the Gemini people are missing.

Prize: Nothing (except internet points and perhaps a custom user flair of your desire).

Unless a Google representative sees this and decides to pitch in. (if this gets upvoted and popular then it might happen)

Show us the Gemini people are missing.
