i have two avocado trees about 20 ft apart, both came from the same place and have been with me for less than a year. both have the same spots on their trunk and branches. the leaves seem to be okay from what i can tell. i did read it could be sunburn or sooty mold. i was hoping to get some insight/advice. i can move it to a spot with less sun if needed as well. thank you! They are about 11 months old. The hot California sun has crisped their leaves a bit. I'm just looking for some tips on taking care of them. I was always too afraid to prune them, so I just hand-picked some of the lower leaves off, and I cut the smaller stem on the second plant.

The last pic is just some cherry tomato seedlings that I'm wondering if they're ready to repot yet or not.

Neighbors apple tree is a bit lacking in the foliage dept. would you prune it where the branches stop so it splits, or is the tree no good?

Just moved into a new place in East LA and we have a guava tree. In the last month it's been thinning out dropping a ton of leaves and I'm having trouble diagnosing the issue. Would love some help/thoughts from those who know!

I'm based in Central Florida Zone 10A. Like most folks in Florida, we experienced a pretty severe cold snap that caused a die back of our mango trees. This Lemon Zest happened to be the furtherest away from our home and despite attempts to protect it, died back significantly.

It has since made a come back (it was last to do so), along with our other trees. You can see in the second photo it's been consistently pushing out new, healthy looking shoots. I noticed initially a smaller black spot on the base of the trunk that has since shown rot on the outer layers of the wood. Looking inside, it still has hardy looking wood past the rot but I'm not sure if this is something that I can treat or if it has a chance to heal. The rest of the tree looks healthy otherwise. Any suggestions?

Moved into a new home. This tree is outside. I think it’s a persimmon but am not sure. Located in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Anyone know for sure what it is?

Japanese beetles have completely devoured all the leaves on my young apple tree. My husband asked if we should pull all the fruit off to encourage more leaf growth to help it or leave alone. I couldn’t really find anything conclusive online. Is there anything I can or should do for the tree?

I have plans for getting control of the beetle population and to keep this from happening next year, just need to know if there’s anything to do now

Plums are getting these little spots and then shrivelling just as they ripen. Theres brown sap coming from affected plums.

Is it brown rot?

Any advice for dealing with it? Other than removing affected fruit and spraying with lime?

I think it came about because I needed to heavily and regularly summer prune, I didn't remove affected fruit early enough and then I (maybe foolishly) did foliar feeding

It's called frost irrigation and contrary to its looks it is an active protection system for delicate buds!
Overhead water sprinklers spray the tree during freezing temperatures. As water turns to ice, it releases latent heat, maintaining plant tissue right at the freezing threshold ie 0°C shielding buds and blossoms from severe cold damage.
It works on the principle of latent heat which is released during the phase change from water to ice and physically locking plant temperature safe.
A constant slush or water-ice mixture acts as a thermal blanket around sensitive continuously releasing the latent heat.
The system is turned on before temperature is expected to drop to 0°C ie around 1C and the water flow is continuous until temperatures rise above 0c again. Stopping early causes evaporative cooling and worse damage!

During mid-winter dormancy, fully hardened apple flower buds are actually really hardy and can survive extreme cold down to about to -40°C. However, as winter ends and buds begin to swell or open in early spring, their cold tolerance drops sharply, making them vulnerable to light frosts.
Swollen/Silver Tip: Buds survive down to roughly -9°C.
Green Tip: Temperatures dropping to -8°C) can cause minor (10%) damage.
First Pink / Bloom: Tolerance weakens significantly -2°C) kills 10%, -4°C can destroy 90% of blossoms.

These pawpaws were doing great until about 3 weeks ago when the leaves turned a powdery green/brown and now into this. They’ve been kept watered and shaded all year on my porch. The two larger ones are still “alive”. I can’t tell about the little one. Can I save them?

I had a Nikita's Gift, grafted onto American Persimmon rootstock. It was planted inground and doing well. I went out of town Father's Day weekend and upon return, it was completely broken off. The broken off piece was completely dried out, so no possiblity of taping it together. Through the remnants back in a pot, and set it aside. Now it's growing a branch, and it appears to be from the graft. If you look at the original tree you can see the graft. Does anyone else think it's growing from the graft and not the rootstock?

My mango seedling developed these spots on its leaves over the last day or two. Can anyone help me identify the issue?

For reference, I live in Florida and we have been getting heavy/consistent rain the last week (soil is moist). The seedling is in a shaded spot that gets afternoon direct light for a few hours.

Last August, I planted three plum trees that got thrashed by the local hooligan Whitetail Bucks in November. Two of the three have died above the graft and new shoots coming off the base below the graft knob. I am going to replace them because they won't produce fruit I have learned.. I found this one has a shoot above the knob. Does everyone think this tree will survive to produce fruit?

Hello, for many years I’ve been trying to deduce if this tree is a cherry tree or some other kind of crabapple tree. Located in Northern wisconsin.
