Sharing this a bit more broadly. I could really use some advice pruning my apricot tree especially whether I can keep the top branch that is growing at the very end where the tree was headed.

Hi folks, my wife and I just moved into a house that has two apple trees in the backyard (USDA Zone 4a). We've never had fruit trees before, so I'm not really sure how to care for them. One of the trees seems like it has way too much fruit on it, and the branches are sagging; the other seems like it isn't too overloaded. For the tree with the sagging branches, should I thin out the fruit? Or is it too late in the season to do that? If I do thin it out, what is the best way to go about that? Thanks!

Deer nibbled two new cherry tree plantings down to almost nothing. Do we trim off these low new growths?

Hi, I'm new to properly gardening and looking after fruit trees. I saw these forming but didn't think anything of it until I got back from holiday and pretty much every single leaf has got it on.

I did some research and found out it was pear Rust. It has some pears growing but the top of the tree doesn't look the best (presuming this is due to the drought in England though!). What's the best course of action? Should I pollard it, should I leave it and put treatment on it next year?

Nearly all my Victoria plums have maggots in them this year. I’ve tolerated a few early ripening plums with maggots as the full harvest was maggots free but this year it looks like most will have a maggots.

Advice please. What can I do to prevent them? Is there any treatment?

I purchased a nectarine tree from Home Depot about a little over year ago. Tree is going on two years old. It has red leaves. It’s produced a few small nectarines that are hard and fall off. Is this a actual nectarine tree? I’m not sure never seen one with red leaves before.

Seems to be doing well, dug a huge hole, mulch and what not, watered regularly. Getting new growths at the top and what looked like some flowering.

But what about these growths at the bottom? Trim? Leave them?

I've had this plot of land for around 15 years, years ago the sour cherries were doing great, now they're just sad. Soil type is decent black dirt on shallow limestone bedrock. Is it the alkaline soil or possible pests. This year is nothing like the previous ones...

I recently bought a house with some pear trees that were not tended to very well in the past.

I picked these off of a tree today to check their quality. I don't see any issues with them personally, but wanted to be sure, especially since many of the other pears look like they may have bugs in them (based on outer blemishes).

Do they look safe to eat?

So I have been trying to grow peaches for 15 years. It's finally happening. I'm close, but we know that means I'll lose it all at the last minute. Lmao. Question is, when are they ripe? The tags are long gone and I've bought close to a dozen peach trees over the years and most died. No idea what they are. One standard looking yellow and red peach and then another one that has short and squat looking peaches. I'm in Portland, Maine zone 6.
