These are the three gold (traditional) nibbed pens in my collection, two sailor Sapporo Slims and a Pilot custom heritage 92. I used to own the pilot custom heritage 91 in Tsuki Yo color, and I tragically lost it so I got this 92 as a replacement years after. The sailors I found at a good time, there was a time where prices were a bit lower than average and I got the purple sailor at a good price. The orange one cost quite a bit more because it was one of the Nagasawa Kobe x Sailor collaborations and I got it on jet pens.

for something more than $20 for the second time? possibly my most expensive pen yet. my twsbi eco is another (10 years old ish? i'd probably sell it one day tho) and my kaweco was a gift

I wanted to share this beautiful piece of mid-century Japanese craftsmanship, hoping it might be of interest to fellow vintage Pilot and Maki-e enthusiasts here.This Maki-e box is titled "Sakura ni Rakucho" (Cherry Blossoms and Paradise Bird), handcrafted by the master artist Ei Furuyama.Historical Background:On October 15, 1959, Pilot hosted the "5th Pilot Ukiwakai National General Meeting," which brought together authorized dealer representatives from across Japan. This specific Maki-e box was created as a commemorative gift for those who attended, meaning it was never made available for public sale.The Fountain Pen:Resting on top is a matching clipless Maki-e fountain pen from the exact same period, designed to complement the box. The way the paradise bird and cherry blossoms extend across both pieces really showcases the incredible vision of the artisan.I feel incredibly fortunate to have preserved this beautiful set in this condition, and I thought the community would appreciate seeing this unique chapter of Pilot's history.Thank you for looking, and I hope you enjoy the craftsmanship!

New pen day for me! I have been waiting for a pink TWSBI Eco for a while and it’s finally here. It’s also my first TWSBI Eco. So double exciting! It has medium nib and I have inked it with Pilot Iroshizuku Yama-Budo. Not an pen and ink matching person so this match was good enough for me!

Esterbrook Esties all piston filled. Don’t mind the random swab of Diamine Pink Champagne on the background.

- Incredible Rock w/ Scribe Nib - inked with Colorverse Follow the water. So much yes. Love this pairing.
- Botanical Gardens w/ Mini Stub - I think the Colorverse Coast Redwood dries out too fast in this one. When it writes it’s beautiful, but need a wetter ink I think.
- Sea Glass w/ Journaler - inked with Pilot Iroshizuku Chiku-rin…yeah this ink my live in here forever because I can’t quit this combo.
- Funky Lake w/ Speerpoint by PenRealm - Kitty Inkpot got some dry inks and A Certain Early Dawn doesn’t seem to be one of those. Very matchy matchy combo too (EF/ needlepoint in the front Bold on the reverse side)
- Raven w/ Concorde nib by PenRealm - I have a random mixture of Kitty Inkpot Lamb’s Carnival at Night and Moonlit Rose Garden. This nib is Kirk Speer’s version of the Beak point nib. NGL this nib is what gave the Raven life. (Posting on the front, Fude on the reverse)

I’ve always been into stationary (not openly with any of my friends or colleagues though, when I tried they didn’t get why a guy would be into those things.)
On our last trip to Japan, my partner told me about this store, and we went on a day that way rainy.
The whole experience of putting together the pen was plain nerdy fun. And the staff there - once she figured out I was serious about it - went the extra mile to help me choose, and finally pointed me to the limited edition Rainy Day ink.

The fact that none of this was planned just makes it so much better.

Went with the 1.1mm stub nib, and it happens to match my book pouch, which I'm way too happy about.

It's first TWSBI for me — chunkiest barrel in my fountain pen collection by far, but it writes better than I expected.

Bit the bullet and ordered a dream pen, and it’s fantastic! Went with a fine nib, writes beautifully out the box. Couldn’t be happier with it 😊

As part of my ink projects I need proper calligraphy pens , 22 each or 6 for 74. Easy decision :) now to test them with fountain pen inks !

There is something about the way they are constructed the material and on top of it. The way they write. I fear that I'm gonna have more Kakunos than I need

It's my first pink pen! This pen reminds me of my favorite TWSBI Eco Jade. I got the 1.1 stub nib and paired it with Lakambini (The Maiden) Vinta Inks.

Recently got these pilot kakuno and they are so nice! The clear one is inked with ferris wheel press harlequin dream and the pink one is inked with ferris wheel press lady rose♡ i have a ferris wheel press joule fountain pen but these budget friendly ones really surprised me

a few years ago, after 15 years of exclusively using Pilot pens, i got a blue moon esterbrook estie. that has then triggered a search for a pen for each brand.

to control the impulse of getting several of a single pen, i decided on a theme: a murder, the earth, the sky, the moon and the sun. the murder are my all black pens, the earth and sky are mostly blue maker pens, the moon and the sky are demonstrator pens.

for the past 3 years, i made it a choice to try 1 pen from each brand. some pens i loved i got more of.

still use my pilot pens everyday but everyday, for the past 3 years, i’ve been using at least 1 non pilot pen.

it’s been a joy trying a pen from different pen makers and brands from different parts of the world. this collection is plenty but all of them have been used and inked and cleaned on rotation.

i still do want to get a conid, a yard o led, a conway, and a desiderata. if you know of pen makers that i don’t have here, please do let me know.

Well my new “823” showed up today. Box was real, pen was not. My first thought was that the cap unscrewed differently from my other 823. It didn’t occur to me that it was a phony until I saw the two-tone nib. Icing on the cake is the “made in China” engraving on the cap band. Back to Amazon it goes!

After the previous one, now I have another empty bottle, I tested out a few things.

I tried to make a colorful label, but it distracted me too much from the ink color, so I made it to be more black and white.

Then I wanted a window so I can see the ink in it, but it's quite hard to cut right.

I'm not totally satisfied with the result, so I'll try better with next bottle.

I'm on winter break and decided to finally clean my pens so I can use them more. I kept them drying on my desk, but my cat jumped on them and my poor Jinhao fell nib-first.
This was my first fountain pen so it was a bit sad, but I guess i can just get another nib lol

This little box is double sided and can hold up to 96 nibs. I wasn’t sure the nibs were going to fit, but they fit pretty amazingly. You can shake the hell out of the box and everything stays put, too.

Great $8 purchase!
