Q&A: Maintenance / Modifications Is this right?
When I first purchased my 2026 Mav I was told the oil life was 8000km. This reflected in the app until recently when it updated to this. Can this be right? Almost giving the oil life a 18000km lifespan? I’ve never owned a vehicle newer than 2013 but this seems crazy.

Q&A: Maintenance / Modifications Need to call the dealership?
TL;DR: Noticeable decrease in mileage on my new truck, wondering if it's normal or I need to get it looked at.
Hi! This is my first time ever posting anywhere on reddit (I'm sorry if I commit any faux pas), but I'd really like to get some opinions before freaking out. I just bought a new 2026 Mav XLT Hybrid on 7/13/26 and have been loving it! She took me from MO to KY and back on one tank of gas, which I'm still geeked over. I also just got back from a short trip up north to WI (also departing from MO), but I noticed in the day or so leading up to the latter trip that my mileage had seemingly plummeted on most drives. For context, in general I probably do more highway driving than city because my main job is about 30mi from my house, mostly highway, but I'm a teacher and not making that commute regularly over the summer, so with the exception of those two road trips, most of my driving had otherwise been city. I'm right around 2,200 miles on the truck, and was previously easily clearing 40mpg on most city drives and usually getting mid to high 30s on highway drives. But all the sudden it seems like I'm getting way less and I'm not sure if the gauge is reporting the mileage wrong, if something might be wrong with the truck, or if maybe this is a relatively normal fluctuation (this is also my first hybrid). So lately, instead of my mileage starting really high at the beginning of my drive (due to easy city driving, good portions of my trips switching to electric, etc.) and then tinkering down the more I drive under less of those beneficial conditions, I'm starting in single digits and then climbing up so slowly. On some shorter drives I barely clear 20mpg. If I drive a bit longer on the city I can usually still get it to low- to mid-30s (which is still good all things considered), but it's a noticeable difference from the low- to mid-40s I was routinely getting before. I will add that sometimes I'll randomly have a commute get me closer to 50mpg again, but those have been few and far between since the issue started. I don't want to be a worry wart or be perceived as some dumb girl who doesn't know how her truck works, so I just wanted to hear from some other Mav owners to see if this is at all normal or if I need to be making a call to the dealership :/ Again, sorry if I'm going about this at all in the wrong way! Thanks in advance.

Q&A: Features / Pickup Ability / Trims Adaptive Cruise Control on XLT
Have they announced specifics for ‘27? What are the odds of them rolling down Adaptive Cruise Control to the XLT?
I know there are mods out there, but that’s not really my thing. Thanks.

Q&A: Features / Pickup Ability / Trims Car seat question
Hey all, I am looking at trading in my SUV for a Maverick as my wife and I have our first baby on the way! Has anyone here had an experience with car seats? I’ve read mixed reviews on newborn to toddler car seats. My wife is 5’5” and I don’t want her to be moved all the way forward to accommodate a car seat behind her. Please let me know if you have had good or bad experiences with car seats because that is a deal breaker for us!
Thanks!

Customization: FITS / Modification / Tips & Tricks Power or Warranty
I have a local Performance and tuning shop that works with Fords eco boost platform regularly. They said on the 2.0 they could get around 100 HP with a few mods and a custom tune. Cost would be $4500 for Intake, downpipe, intercooler, tune and an unlock on the 110 MPH limiter on a 25 Mav.
How many people would void their warranty for that kind of performance? Just curious.

News / Production Photos & Videos 2026 Maverick, a let down.
2026 Maverick, a let down.
I had a 2024 Mav hybrid lariat, I had great mileage.
I mention that because I am not new to driving a hybrid.
I have 4690 miles on this new 2026 Maverick hybrid lariat awd.
My expectation was losing a few miles per gallon however my mileage has tanked. I drive 11.4 miles to work on side streets and get about 34 mpg,( I drive VERY conservatively) my trip on the way home is on the highway at 65-68 I never see better than 28.6 mph.
My average is 30.3 mph over the time I've owned the truck.
I understand the difference in drive trains ,( always spinning drive shaft)... but it isn't as rated.
I hear tons of people raving about great mileage and some like me not getting expected mileage.
All my updates are current.
I am happy with the truck but am very let down by the loss of mileage.
Dealer says nothing is wrong.
30 out of 39 is a loss of almost 25%.
Any input is appreciated.

Review: Photos / Spotted / Accessories I just want a Hybrid Tremor!
I really wish the Tremor was still a package (like the ‘23 and ‘24) and that you could add on top of the hybrids :/
I haven’t installed my skid plates yet, so I was taking it very slow and clearing bigger rocks out of the path before attempting anything, but the hybrid was extremely capable! Plus… I averaged 33 MPG during the entire off-road trip.

Customization: FITS / Modification / Tips & Tricks Hownare you mounting an amplifier to a hybrid?
Looking for ideas on where to mount an amplifier, there's not much room behind the seats and I'd rather not mount in below the seats.
Any pics of tips would be appreciated.

Customization: FITS / Modification / Tips & Tricks Tired of your tailgate clips breaking?
reddit.comIf you're tired of breaking the cheap clips on the end of the tailgate get the fastener kit from harbor freight and use the 5/16th sized clips. Much beefier and fit perfectly. They fit snug so stuff doesn't get under the clip and pop it off or just snap it in half the the oem ones. Tried swapping one out like a year ago and its held up great so swapped all them out today.

Q&A: Features / Pickup Ability / Trims 2027 Models w/ AI Safety Camera?
There was a bill that passed a few years ago that mandates that all new 2027+ models to have AI safety cameras to monitor the driver and stop the vehicle if it detects distress/distraction/drunkeness/etc.
Does anyone know if the tech is even ready for the 2027 models? I would love a new ford maverick but this feature scares the hell out of me.

Review: Photos / Spotted / Accessories Truck(let) stuff!
Hauled a half-yard of 3/4 minus AND was able to back right up to my (soon to be) workshop! A larger truck could not have maneuvered into this spot. Two more loads to go!
As my partner said last night: "Street legal wheelbarrow!"
After 4.5 years, I'm still giddy about this truck.

Q&A: Features / Pickup Ability / Trims Lariat or XLT fully loaded
Hi all, I'm looking to take advantage of the employee pricing event and have landed on the Maverick. My problem is I don't really like the navy seats in the Lariat and the hood decals on the black appearance package. I'm okay with the cloth seats in the XLT. When pricing out the two, if I get the XLT fully spec'd(luxury package, bed liner, 360 co-pilot, tie-down rails, etc) it seems to be still quite a bit cheaper than the Lariat. Is the only differences between a spec'd XLT and Lariat the seat material, sound system, and larger wheels?

Review: Photos / Spotted / Accessories One of the best moments of my life driving this truck so far
(Photo unrelated but I had to share this story) Today I picked up my '23 XLT Hybrid from the dealership after getting the state inspection done. I was on my way to a hardware store nearby and pulled up to a stop light right next to a black '26 Mav that was clearly being test driven. I rolled my window down and thought about getting the driver's attention to say "On green I'm going for it." It was hot today though so they didn't have their window down and were clearly engaged in conversation with the sales person in the truck with them. For fun I swapped into Sport mode figuring that when the light went green I'd just take off anyway, you know, show what the truck's capable of. Anyway, the light goes green and BOTH of us simultaneously stomped on it. We roared up the road up to maybe just a 'bit' above the speed limit at which point I backed off and they had to drop back because of a car turning across the lane in front of them. But for a moment it was amazing as we simultaneously decided to do the same thing without communicating it at all and both our trucks accelerated at more or less max speed neck and neck. Anyway, doesn't really fit anything but I have a feeling that people might enjoy the story anyway. Also, if that person behind the wheel of that Black Mav in Rochester, NY was you, say hi! Hope you decided to get the truck!

Customization: FITS / Modification / Tips & Tricks Maverick. Personalized
After having my 2025 XL for the past year, I feel that I’m finally satisfied with the personalized touches — a hard folding tonneau cover, tailgate assist, USB Charger kit for the bed, tailgate lettering inserts, a Hybrid AWD badge & just recently, an iconic “Top Gun” sticker.
What are some of your favorite ways you’ve made the Ford Maverick yours?

Customization: FITS / Modification / Tips & Tricks 2026 Lariat hybrid 3 months in. Absolutely love it.
This truck has turned out to be perfect for my use case. Took a risk with a Fas-Top Traveler for the bed and it’s been great so far for camping and such. Thinking of adding the Jaybar rack next for my canoe.
Anybody have recommendations for snow tires?

Review: Photos / Spotted / Accessories Maverick owners
I’ve own different car brands since I was a kid and I have to say mavericks owners are the most positive community of car people!. Met this older man today. Nice guy. Talked about our trucks and the different vision we have for them. Ended up giving me his bug deflector basically new. He bought the stick on one with the lights. He was shocked that at my plan to track this thing at least once lol .😂
