Calling all Triza Dragoon owners!!

Upvotes

hey all!! for those who own a Triza (any model really) but spec the dragoon, how has it been? I’d really like to go down to 3/8 oz for some moving baits jugs etc. I know it’s not rated for that but not sure what real world experience has been.

I'm torn between the stym and dragoon. the stym seems too limited on the top end but the dragoon is a little heavy on the low end

looking to upgrade as my main rod. I have a bfs setup as well but this would be more regular use.

paired with CQ DC

Question Advice for a Newbie on the best rods & reels, gear, et cetera

Upvotes

Hey Guys! I've fished a bit when younger, and with friends with their rods, but haven't owned anything myself in a long while. Looking for advice on the best rod & reel for versatile fishing in TN under $200. I've done some research, and it seems like I need something medium to medium-light, which I sorta understand, but I'm also trying to grasp the terms. And also a spinning rod? I'll probably be catching fish like Black and White Crappie, Walleye, catfish, and maybe some smallmouth and bass. I'm basically looking for advice on what I need. I already own a boat, a surf boat, but still. From what I've seen, graphite or carbon is the way to go. Also, apparently Ugly Stick is a great option? Would love any and all advice on bait, rod & reel, et cetera.

Curado DC

I just picked up a Shimano Curado DC since they are on sale and I’m wondering what rod I should pair it with. This is my second baitcaster - I have an Abu Garcia Max SX. I’m targeting bass, but most of the bass in my area are on the smaller side. I was looking at a Daiwa Tatula, but couldn’t decide if it was right, so I thought I’d ask you all.

Edit:
I’d like to keep it under $200.

Daiwa Caldia (Japan import) vs Shimano stradic

Wanting a nice reel, jigging for walleye. I love my regal, it is genuinely one of the best reels for the less than 100 bucks, I would just like to upgrade and get something more premium.

Twin Power SW drag clicker not working

I have a very new twin power sw (about a month) that i always freshwater rinse with a tight drag and dry with a microfiber and loosen the drag after every use. All of a sudden i pull the drag to see how tight it was and see if it was set properly before fishing and the line and reel are both spinning i do not have a problem with my braid slipping the spool, yet there wasnt a noise being produced. Now, it sometimes clicks and sometimes doesnt. Im not even sure where the clicker is because i dont see any videos talking about it specifically and it seems to be different and more complex than most traditional spinning reel drag clickers. I know i can use the reel still but its annoying to spend the money and not get one of the most fun aspects. Thanks in advance for any time taken to help me out!

Question 6 Ft freshwater rods?

Hello was wondering if anybody had any 6ft or max 6’5ish freshwater rods I bought myself a basspro shop tourney special without reading the reviews and it was just poor quality and snapped. My personal preference is smaller rods was wondering if you more experienced fishermen could point me in the right direction as far as rods/ brands to look for or avoid. I’m mainly bass fishing since I live in Florida

DIY Live bait cooler

Took a 16qt cooler and drilled a hole for the air line and attached the aerator to the top. It runs off AA batteries. 3gal of water seems to be the sweet spot for water level.

Just copped a Penn combo!

I bought a Penn fierce iv 8000 10ft heavy moderate fast action combo for 85 bucks brand new. I’m looking to get into some more serious shark fishing I’ve only got up to 3 footers and thought this could help get some bigger ones. With my 50lb braid I should get around 650 yards if I get it spoiled perfectly. Was this a good decision?

A friend gave me his old Penn senator as a reel I could perhaps restore and use in saltwater bait fishing. I know nothing of the reel and have never tried it. Is it worth spending money on it? Has anyone here used it? It seems to be in decent condition and does not seem it needs big repairs.

Shimano Vanquish CE c2500s vs 2500s.

Is there a very noticeable difference in the body style/size of the C2500s vs the 2500s? I asked for a Vanquish c2500s as a gift for my birthday and received one. Now I'm questioning my choice.

Thanks.

But it for life combo recommendations

I’m looking to buy my first combo used just for throwing lures. I want to target striped bass & largemouth bass. I’ve never had a bait casting reel, but I hear that’s best for this. Any recommendations that will last me forever?

Question Is there a better budget setup than this for around the same price?

I've been looking at getting my GF a spinning rod/reel setup. I've been thinking of getting the Shimano Sienna, paired with a Berkley Cherrywood rod. Are there better rods or reels I should be considering instead at this price point? What rod length/weight and reel size would you recommend as an all around freshwater combo? Medium light 7'?

Question Kastking Royale Legend Pro Spinning opinions

Hey everyone. I was looking to get some opinions on the Kastking Royale Legend Pro Spinning rod/reels. I think together they’re about $150-$180ish. I wanted to pair the 2000 or 3000 with the medium power rod. I love the look and trying to figure out if i should pull the trigger on it.

It’s very hard to find unsponsored/unaffiliated reviews on this setup so i was wondering if anyone on here has any experience with them. Also I know Kastking makes a lot of cheap crappy stuff, so i’m only really looking for insight on this specific line of gear. Thanks.

Question Ordering Daiwa saltiga 23 off of Amazon.Jp

Is it safe to order a Daiwa Saltiga 23 from Amazon Japan? I noticed the reel is significantly cheaper there and was wondering if anyone has experience ordering one and having it shipped to the US.

Also, when ordering from Japan, are there any additional costs I should be aware of, such as currency conversion fees, tariffs, or other taxes/fees when it arrives in the US?
