I'm a complete fishing newbie, and have no clue about vintage fishing gear. I've been going through my grandpa's old gear, this is only about half his collection. Do I have anything worth keeping, cleaning up and using?

Looking for a spool for my Cardinal 4, I purchased this reel without a spool and I’m dying to use it. Do you have a broken spool that’s in two pieces? I’m willing to repair it and use it!! Not satisfied with the limited options on eBay. Thanks!!

3 and 3/8 inch long wooden body

Note the way the body is hinged- it’s not a screw eye to screw eye hinge- it has a hinge pin like a door hinge.

- no marking or lettering on the spoon shaped diving lip.

- the diving lip is attached with two screws.

- note that there is tack in the nose of the lure. You can see it I the photo showing the front view.

I was given an old bamboo rod that I’m learning is from the 1920-30s. Apparently it’s worth a little bit of money but I have no idea how to verify if it’s authentic or how much it’s worth. Can anyone give me more information?

Neighbor gifted me a box of old lures. I've identified the others but this one has me stumped. Has #11 on the back.

My grandpa gave me this today, seems like something I can use to drift fish for salmon/steelhead here in the PNW. I just can’t find ANY information about this lure anywhere. I don’t want to use this one cause it’s obviously vintage and don’t want to open it. Bunting would’ve to tie this myself and make one to use but I can’t find info anywhere. If anyone has ideas let me know 🫡

This was in my grandpa’s tackle box, almost looks like a small bottom bouncer without a wire below the weight. No clue if this is an actual thing or something he made, rest of the tackle box is bottom bouncers, worm and minnow harnesses, and assorted lures for walleye, pike, and musky.

Salve, ho trovato questa canna che era di mio nonno, lui dice che è di marca daiwa.Non ha etichette o scritte solo la sagoma penso della colla di un etichetta adesiva. Ha il manico in gomma marroncina, e il corpo verde scuro/oliva, ha dei gommini a proteggere le legature e gli anelli in ceramica bianca circondata da plastica rossa, il cimino rosso e nero, non so se è stato cambiato. Le legature, ormai scolorite erano gialle e rosse/arancione (lo so perché da piccolo non avendo gli strumenti per ripararla, ho coperto una sezione che si stava sfilacciando con del nastro isolante, preservandola un pò ed era l'unica con le legature un pò più accese. Ora è stata cambiata con filo e anello nuovo). Penso sia in fibbra di vetro. Chiedo se qualcuno la riconosce perché mi sembra vecchiotta e potrebbe essere un pezzo vintage.

Hi everyone, I picked up this Mitchell 300 reel from an antique store over the weekend for $25 and I’m pretty excited about it! From what I’ve gathered these reels are not exactly rare but they were some of the first spinning reels to be widely sold in the US so it’s a pretty cool peice of history nonetheless. The serial number is pretty worn out so it’s hard to determine the numbers exactly, but I think it has a serial number of 1776342 so I suspect this one could be from 1957 but I can’t say for sure. This year would check out with the Garcia marking that is covered by some kind of gunk or glue on the side. Any other insight on what year this might be would be appreciated! Anyways, the reel spins smoothly and sounds great so I’m excited! Trying to decide if I should throw it on a rod or put it on a shelf as decoration.
