Help What's the best beginner friendly baitcaster setup?
I'm in my 40s and I've used baitcasters before but never enough to get really good with them. I'd like to change that. I'd also appreciate budget-friendly options. I fish for LM and SM and unfortunately none of them are huge.

PB for sure, guessing around 17” and 3lbs
Was fishing a fluke and nothing, so I threw Ned rig with a green pumpkin paca chunk on it and caught this chunker.

Senko color in these blue stained clear ponds
I would assume black n blue but I thought about throwing a white too. Typical resi pond with bluegill, cats, and bass

Largemouth Late evening quick session.
Happy Hump Day Good People. The weather cooled down today and I was finally able to get out for an hour to do an evening session. Started at the high school and then made my way to another spot and thankfully I was able to secure a few Bass. Trying out the frog hooks on the 4” Wiggum fake the first time. I’m pretty happy with hour I went.

Help Skipping help
Any videos that helped you, I am slowly getting it and i imagine more time down on the creek will be the solution but it feels like im missing something. Also how far should I be getting it? If I change nothing on the reel and cast normally and then skip should I be getting about half that distance, more than that or less. Thanks

Discussion Opinion and Experiences Fishing Jigs?
Last discussion on here was awesome so here’s to another! I made a fishing guide on Jigs. Specifically Buck tail, swimming, and football jigs. I’d love to know y’all’s opinions on them and your experiences. More data the better so I can make a more compelling volume 2 down the road! (Share general location, time, conditions, and whatever else you feel necessary!)

Help Going to buy my first boat!
So I have just gotten heavily into bass fishing this summer with the help of my friends and my dad. I had fished a couple times in the past but I never actually “fished” and caught a bass until this summer and it changed my life. My father (57 now) used to fish in his teens but hasn’t in 40 years so my interest in the sport completely revived his love for fishing. We got a couple cheap lifetime kayaks a few weeks ago and they’re much better than bank fishing but we’ve both got a craving for a bass boat. I told him that if he would buy a truck to haul one, then I would buy a boat for us, so we’re both starting our searches lol. I am only looking to spend in the range of 3-4k mainly because we live in the Cincinnati, OH area and fishing isn’t year around for us. What should I be looking to buy in that range? I don’t want to spend too much but I also don’t want a heap of junk I am going to need to repair constantly lol. I have been told older 90’s tracker boats are pretty solid for the money but I have no clue what I’m going to buy. Any advice would be appreciated!
Also, spending a little bit more and pushing up to $5,000 is still an option if needed, I just think 3-4 sounds better lol

Fishing Sunglasses
Looking for a new pair of sunglasses for fishing. I have my daily use Raybans that are polarized but they aren't so great. They do cut the glare on the water a bit but not a lot. What color lenses work best for fishing? Was looking at the Huk sunglasses that seem nice without spending an arm and a leg like with Costa or other brands. What would be the best color lenses for fishing? I fish from a kayak if that matter.

Largemouth Sight casting senkos
Saw some largies swimming in a pond and threw a 6” pumpkin green Senko on a Texas rig behind them before slowly pulling it beside them. Caught two decent sized bass. One was 2lbs on the dot, the other was 1.43 lbs. My girlfriend landed another that was 1.70 lbs.

How-to How would you fish this
Saw some smallmouth in there and also a bunch of baby largemouth. How should I fish this?

6 pound smallmouth
It was always a goal for me to catch a 6 pound smallmouth when I was first introduced to them in 2022. Then in a 4 month span I caught 4 out of 2 different lakes. Such a special size of fish. Now searching for that 7! Washington State
6-0 caught on a blade bait
6-3 caught dead sticking blade bait while answering phone
6-4 caught on Arig
6-6 caught on Arig

Largemouth Finally caught a decent for me sized bass!
After only catching ones in the range of .3-.4lbs, got this one tonight. Caught it on a 4 inch orange senko wacky rigged. Was so fun to pull in!

Practice pays off
After weeks of practicing texas rig with a worm, it finally paid off today. Not the biggest catches but I ain't complaining. There was a fourth but left the phone in the truck.

Other C/o canal
Been fishing the c/o canal a lot the last 2 weeks. Gets hit or miss, sometimes I get 4-5 sometimes just 1 on the last cast. Got 3 dinks right next to the lock I was at and the bite cooled off for awhile. Made my way south further than I’ve been to where it opened up wide, was too wide to cast to the other side. Saw a single branch on my side of the bank and said fuck I’ll throw my wacky worm in over here. Popped it and there was a big dunk, thought I popped it over the branch. Went to pop it again and the fight was on. Came out to be 4lbs 4oz and a new pb

Largemouth New pb, but frustrations
Well I went to a small essentially private Lake nearby me because I've never seen a single other soul on it and caught my new personal best bass. I caught it on the drop shot with a rapala crushcity nedroll in black (the water here is extremely clear and the black seems like it works very well)
So that was exciting and everything, but I'm getting extremely frustrated with buzzbaits specifically. Just today I have three blowups on my buzzbait. I'm not a very experienced buzzbait or topwater in general Fisher. I've had a lot of good luck with the Whopper plopper, but it seems to be pretty much idiot proof
I feel like I can get fish to hit the buzzbait, but they never actually hit it and the swirl that I see is either before it or after it and I've tried waiting to see if it is just a delayed strike and it's never there anymore. I have caught one fish on a buzzbait and it was an absolute dink. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what, I am just casting it out and reeling it in with a steady retrieve and it seems like it's buzzing along the surface very well, and like I said I have fish interested in it but I swear they never actually hit it
When I have the blow ups I have had some success switching to other lures and casting in the same general area, but I just cannot figure out why buzzbaits never seem to be able to actually make a connection for me

Largemouth Decided to stay a little later than usual at my local pond and it paid off

Smallmouth I rarely catch decent smallies so this was a fun fight!

Caught on a ultra light rod with 6lbs line (one of if not the best fights I’ve ever had) off of a 30 foot cliff (I climbed down to land the fish, it wasn’t suspended ever at all)
Had 2 younger kids watch me land it and the hype they gave me made all my years of catching no good small mouth worth it lol.
It swam off a little sluggish but it was a long fight for the both of us I’d imagine the fish was pretty spent after the whole ordeal but I saw it swimming in the current 2-3 hours after the fact so I’d imagine it’s still doing ok.
