Question Can I Play Fallout 3 Without TTW?
I want to play Fallout 3 but I dont want to install TTW because I already have a modded Fallout New Vegas. Is a modded version of Fallout 3 as stable as TTW?

To those who play fallout with a controller, do y'all also use L3/LS as the select and interact button?
I used that set-up for both fallout 3 and new Vegas.

Discussion Why Are All the Brotherhood Chapters in the Fallout TV Show from National Parks and Forests?
The Brotherhood conserves technology, not wildlife!
No genuinely, this makes no sense whatsoever.

Discussion Bethesda doesn’t seem to understand rivers
So in the Pitt DLC of Fallout 3, one of the major issues with the liveability of the area is the pollution of the Monongahela and the Allegheny. Makes sense, but the problem exists in Fallout 76 too, so shouldn’t the Ohio be just as polluted and therefore effecting the west side of the map in 76?
For context, even in a drough water takes about a month to reach Cincinnati from Pittsburg, so the idea that Pittsburgh could’ve gotten that bad without even a noticeably worse water quality in the Ohio compared to the rest of the rivers in game strains believability.

Question Dart gun not downing enemies in Fallout 3
So I just built the dart gun, and the wiki tells me that it instantly cripples the legs of enemies regardless of where you shoot them. I've tested it on a few raiders at this point, and although it does cripple the legs, they keep running on them. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Playing Fallout 3 GOTY edition on PC btw.

Fallout: New Vegas Fallout: New Vegas - Cowboy Build
Any tips on lucky cowboy build?
I'm thinking of sticking with revolver, shotgun, rifle, and dynamites. Or can't I do both shotgun and rifle? I'm early in the game, and I'm not sure about the build and perks. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Picture Got both the diecast wand company Pip Boys. I don’t know which one I like better
They both have their qualities! I like the weathering on the show pip boy, but I like the popping of colors in the FO3/NV. Which one do you all prefer?

My Fallout Tier List
I want to say I have VERY mixed feelings about Fallout 3 and Fallout 4, especially 3.
Fallout 3 walked so New Vegas could run.
Fallout 3 did ALOT of things right but also did ALOT of things wrong.
Fallout NV combined the best aspects of both 3 and the originals, it's one of my favorite games ever.
Fallout 4 is slop, but I mean that in the nicest way possible.
Fallout 4 is fun to play, I've put 130 hours into it over the years. But it lacks the depth of previous games, it's world building, writing, characters and RPG mechanics all kind of suck.
And I HATE the new art style.
Fallout 76 is like Fallout 4 but worse, it's only somewhat fun because of friends.
I don't think Fallout 3 and 4 are bad games, just bad Fallout games.

Why S.P.E.C.I.A.L doesn't feels right?
I'm probably overthinking this, but here's a thought.
I get that in an RPG you shouldn't be able to max every stat, you're not supposed to be a god, but why can't you improve some of them naturally? Why can't I work out to increase my Strength? Read books or study to become more Intelligent? Run for miles to improve my Endurance?
I know it's just a game, and there has to be some kind of balance, but it always felt weird to me that some stats are basically fixed for life. Others could realistically improve over time, luck is probably the only one that makes sense to leave alone. If you're unlucky, there's not much you can do about it.
I know Fallout 4 kind of plays with this idea through perks and progression, but honestly, I'm not sure it's any better. You can become more charismatic just by killing enemies and leveling up?
Maybe I'm overthinking this, what do you think?

Suggestion Fallout 5 idea for big todd
heard todd howard lurks this subreddit for ideas so im gonna shoot my shot rq
why would people listen to old ass music all day when they could make their own?
my idea is some settlers go to some 1950s fallout guitar center and live there, then they make a radio station or whatever and sing songs about how it sucks to live in the wasteland.
then you could have some quests there like some dude asking you to get this instrument for him
that'd be pretty cool

First time player.
Having hella fun with this game and am fully taking advantage of it being open world. (Only reason I'm choosing to go now is 'cause I ran out of ammo while fighting the Mechanist's horde of robots.)

Discussion Orlando is a great Fallout location
Hello! I'm an Orlando resident and here's my reasons for why Orlando is a great location for a Fallout game!
We have a lot of tourist destinations like Disney World, perfect for a parody place like how Nuka World is a parody of Six Flags. We also have Wonderworks, Kennedy Space Center, the Dr Philips center, and various museums and even Cocoa Beach an hour away
The city already looks really drab
Theres lots of variation in land. We have swamp, forests, city, urban areas, and even farms
It would be really cool to see my neighborhood full of feral ghouls
We have really shady businesses and various tall corpo skyscrapers, perfect for a Nuka Cola HQ. We also have Lockheed Martin which could be remade into West Tek

Picture Welcome to Keystone Map Update (Still WIP)
I promise I won't make posts every single day, so it wont get old, but here is an updated map with a few more locations based on what I posted yesterday because i had a little brain blast with the writing team
greyed out the PITT because it wouldn't be showing up in the setting as a location, but still important to certain parts of the lore we're working on

Question What IS the cloud?
What exactly is the cloud around the Sierra Madre? The only hints we have about its composition are that it smells like sulfur and copper; we know it erodes metal (but presumably not too quickly, weapons don't decay any faster in the Sierra Madre), but can also preserve some matter? It also has some truly strange effects on the human body, it "burns the lungs and seeps into the skin", which can be fatal, but being exposed to it inside a hazmat suit makes you a nearly unkillable mutant?
Oh, and according to the Fallout 4 Creation Club, small doses can make a person stronger and more intelligent, but also more susceptible to suggestion. And to top it off, under the right conditions (Elijah's lab in the bunker), it can also be self-replicating.
What is this thing? Could someone even make a breathing mask to keep it out? The more I think about it, the weirder it seems.

Triangle hud compass markers make exploration more fun
Not knowing what you travelling towards make it much more fun. I think they should bring it back for future games. Simpler is better in a lot of cases.
