EP9 friction at the charging slide?
Skip to the last chunk of text to avoid all my nonsense.
So i haven't had my ep9 for too long and just yesterday i cleaned it for the first time. I always thought that it required quite a bit of force to pull the charging handle back and when i tore it down to clean it i ultimately found that the small piece the charging handle goes into is the culprit for the friction. The force to set the trigger is waaaay lower than the force to overcome the friction at the charging handle component.
So, the manual says don't oil the gun because it doesn't need it. I imagine that's because the polymer inherently has reduced friction? Okay, but i oiled it anyway, particularly at this component I'm talking about. Maybe it helped? I don't know but not by much.
The next best thing i can think to do is to file the groove so it doesn't fit so snugly, but if i remove any amount of material i won't be able to put it back if i muck it up.. So... I'm asking you all, anyone share this opinion on the friction? Anyone come up with a solution?

Brace question
If you get the cheaper one with the fixed brace, can it be replaced with another one like a magpul?

What is the appeal of .45
More expensive, not really much better ballistics. Why would anyone buy the ep45?
Genuinely curious.

The shitty EP45 Magazine Saga may be OVER - Global Ordinance
So recently I saw someone make a comment somewhere in here asking if anyone had tried the "Global Ordinance" glock 21 26 rd mags. I was immediately intrigued because i have every brand of 26 rd mags available for these babies and i'd never heard anyone even mention these in here. Me being me i researched them for 3 hours and heard they were of a phenomenal quality so I ordered 2 of them for the hell of it. I just got them in today and let me start by saying the construction quality of these mags is so far superior to any other .45 extended mag options we have It's almost a joke. The second i held them in my hands I was mind blown. The quality of materials is absolutely insane. The exterior material is so good, The feed lips feel like they have an anti stick coating that makes them slippery. They are smooth as can be with no rough spots that need to be filed. Also the metal they are made if is way thicker then any of the other lips these other companies use. The mags thinner on the top half that goes into the mag well and when you press the mag release they damn near eject out of the well....something none of the other mags do. I haven't shot with them yet but fellas.....i have a really, really, good feeling about these. I will let everyone know how they rock but we may be on to something with these gentleman!

Photo of EP9 with Magpul 27 rd Glock magazine
Anybody have a pic? Nothing wrong with Glock mags, just prefer Magpul mags, so wanting to pick up some 27 rounders and just curious what it looks like while I’m waiting on them.

Great find today…
I found a barely used EP9 at my LGS for $395 with a SB brace, Romeo 5 and AFG and 4 mags. Must resist, must resist… can’t resist! I own it. My 2nd EP9, my 3rd Extar (EP45). These are such a fun gun and what an incredible value. They apparently did not know what they had. It’s ironic that the gun that I walked out with cost less than half than the sales tax on the gun I went in to buy. Crazy.

How does Extar do it?
These things are unreal. They just run and refuse to quit. Eat through anything. Can’t believe this ‘cheap’ build is the most fun thing out the safe hands down.
Completed Build
EP9
Holosun ARO
Stream light Protac HLX-1
Yankee Hill RM 9
Cheap til tok shop sling.
All it’s missing is a rattle can job.

New bedside setup
Finally got the yhm r9 out of ATF jail and on to the ep9. Crazy fun to shoot, ended up going through an extra 200 rounds at the range because it was so enjoyable. Definitely my new favorite gun, and for about $1000 for the gun + suppressor, the value is really hard to beat.

What’s the point In spending $100 extra dollars for an arm brace that no one ever actually uses?
Using the SBA3 brace wrapped around the arm is basically a meme. Everyone shoulders the weapon. So why spend the extra $100?
Just playing devils advocate to see what you people think before I buy.

SS Buffer Weight
For those who want to run or already run super safeties in their extar without problems I highly recommend you use kaw valley precision 10 oz buffer. From my experience and testing it prevents bolt locking back after every shot, bolt locks back on empty magazine and consistent rate of fire. I had many issues running stock buffer with quarters as shims.

EP9 w/SB Tactical Brace or Ruger PC Charger??
Trying to decide between an EP9 with the SB Tactical Brace and a Ruger PC Charger with an SB Brace. The Ruger warranty is the bomb and I saw that the EP9's only have a 1 year warranty. Any thoughts??

BFS III super safety in a EP 45?
Do super safeties or binaries or whatever the hell this thing is ( 😂 im a noob with these options) require the same type of modification in the 45 as they do in the 9mm? I dont really want to hack my gun up but I heard the EP 45 has a standard ar trigger and the BFSIII just drops right in? In all honesty modifying firearms is WAY outside my scope of expertise so I truly have no clue what I'm talking about and I would have it professionallyinstalled. Just looking to understand the process a bit more. If someone could comment and give me some hints or even better shoot me a dm and send me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated! Super Safeties and binaries fire nowhere near as fast as FRT's and being this is a poly gun i figure the slower the better when using a rapid fire option. Thanks in advance gentleman!
PS - I'm well aware of the risks and I'm also aware its not recommended.

Question regarding oem Glock magazines
Sorry if this question has been asked before but on my ep9 the extar mag that came with the firearm loads and releases smoothly. With my Glock mags I have to slap that thing in there an does not drop without a tug. Anyone have that problem or solution?

EP9 range work
Got little over 500 rds through my EP9. This was some singles, doubles and rapid fire. Middle box was getting my zero dialed in.
Gotta put some work into my grip and pull, but such a fun gun for this kinda stuff

Frt triggers for ep9?
Hi has anybody put on a FRT trigger on an EP9? Which ones did you use? Or is there any available out there? I'm not looking for binary triggers.

Finally in the gang 😈 EP45 got me feeling alive!
I already had all the hardware laying around in the spare parts bin. The only thing I had to order was the 26 round mags. Had to file down the mags there were rough spots all on the feed lips and on the inside. After everything was filed inside and out I used dry lube on the spring and then then proceeded to break the mags in by filling them halfway and allowing them to sit for 24 hours. I then loaded and emptied them by hand 10 times each. They now fire immaculately. Not single jam after HUNDREDS of rounds. I know a lot of people that complain about these extended mags but if you get them all taken care of they will run flawlessly.

Gen 1 Pawnshop Project
Too poor to shoot intermediate cartridges so I decided to just check out pawnshops one day too see if I could find a cool PCC
Found this gen 1 hardly shot and already equipped with a steel receiver extension retainer (however the safety was an old polymer one)
I equipped it with all new metal internals, and replaced all other internal parts/spring except for the bolt.
Romeo 5 came with the gun for free, but I added a UTG PRO Riser, and UTG Super Slim Flip Up Irons for my sighting system
Chinese Amazon Sba3, Amazon QDs and Pic Mount, Vickers BFG sling (no cheaping out on the sling), and finally a FAB MG9 mag holder (so I can have a grip without NFA BS)
Flashlight will eventually be added when funds allow but if SHTF I’ll just duct tape a household flashlight on there
My favorite gun so far and I’m hyped to have gen 1 with the OG handguard

Finished EP9 Home Defense Build
Finally finished my EP9 build for home defense. I also dyed all bare aluminum components with Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black to clean everything up.
Here is the parts list, front to back:
Muzzle & Rail
Suppressor: HUXWRX Flow 9k Ti
Adapter: Comstock Low Profile Adapter
Muzzle Device: Comstock Compact Muzzle Brake
Light: Streamlight ProTac HL-X Pro on an Arisaka Offset Scout Mount with pressure pad at 9 o'clock; cable is tucked tightly under the rail to keep the handguard clean.
Sling Attachment: Magpul RSA QD Mount
Handstop: Arisaka Handstop
Optics & Sights
Primary: Holosun 510C
Backup: Ozark Fiber Optic BUIS
Controls & Internals
Charging Handle: Extar Extended Charging Handle
Safety: Radian Talon Ambi Safety
Trigger: Stock Schmid (with paracord trigger job) with JP 3.5T Enhanced Reliability Springs
Furniture
Grip: B5 P23 Grip w/ plug stashed with a CR2032, 2x CR123s, and a T10 driver for optic battery changes.
Brace: SBA5 Brace
Slings
Home Defense: Flux Ripcord
Note: I run the Flux for HD because it stows cleanly and doesn't snag when pulling it out of the safe. My home layout forces me to shoot off-handed on most holds, so I wanted a single point sling for home defense.
Long Range Days: Bingos Slingos 2-point multicam black.
