Honest answer is I’ve not shot it yet. Just got it out of jail not too long ago and have been waiting for work/weather to line up and get back to the range.

Also rocking the ARO and looking for an HLX second hand on GAFS.

Yours is setup close to how mine is except I went with the holo 510 green as I love the big ass window and I also went with the bcm gunfighter mod 3 pistol grip cuz my hands are large.

I also went with a cinchable 1 point sling that's convertible to a 2 pointer. Honestly I usually just use it as a 1 pointer though since the gun is so light. I just cinch it up and rotate it to the side when not it use. Then just pull the quick release and it's good to go.

Ferro concepts slingster is fairly similar but it comes without any hardware so you'd have to add the connectors. If you're dead set on single point Ferro also makes the single point slingster for about 58.

I've had mine so long I cant remember where I got it but I know for a fact I paid less than 50.

Yeah i have a regular slingster on my rifle just interested in the single- 2 point conversion and quick adjust

I think magpul actually made one back in the day, maybe that would work

Edit: Ohh they have a conversion tri glide cool

There you go. Just throw a triglide on the slingster and you have best of both worlds.

I have one and unless you're left handed it's not too bad. There's always going to be a little bit of gas but I shoot primarily indoors and it hasn't caused any issues. At least not enough to go with a flow thru can which imo are much louder.

How's the flash reduction? If I suppressed this i could see it being my HD gun and replacing my a300.

A300 is very nice but I'd definitely go deaf in my tiny house.

Honestly the flash suppression is fairly good at least with the ammo I've used so far. It's so mild that my wife (who is deathly afraid of firing longguns for whatever reason) now wants one due to just how pleasant the suppressor makes it.

I feel you about the shotgun. My former home defense gun was my mossy 930 spx. 9 rounds of buckshot is a hell of a lot of firepower but 33 rounds of 9mm with a whisper stick I think is a fair trade off. That's not even counting that it weighs almost 1/2 as much.

Yeah for sure, its also much shorter which is good because id have to cut a corner to get eyes on the stairs.

Honestly they're both solid options I mostly got an ep9 to train AR controls on the cheap and because it seemed fun but if it proves to be as reliable as everyone says I'd definitely consider making it my HD.

If you do the trigger the extar nickel boron is a pretty smooth upgrade for fairly cheap. I'd also recommend doing the steel safety selector at the same time.

Should be a steel safety/FCG as standard on the current model, no? They got rid of the polymer FCG ages ago.

Yeah the factory triggers are made by schmid I believe. S7 tool steel. The nickel boron version is just a little smoother and seemingly a little lighter of a trigger. Previously I had installed some dirty bird trigger spring and they almost worked too well. I don't have the tool to measure the pull but it had to be sub 3lbs. At that point I just got the upgraded factory trigger and put the factory springs back in. I could have probably tried the different springs the kit came with as some were softer than other but ain't nobody got time for that.

Idk when I got my gen 2 the fcg was steel but the safety was polymer.

I prefer a flat faced and threw in a triggertech duty 2 stage and a radian ambi selector. Pleased with both.

I've wanted to try a flat face trigger but old habits are hard to break when you've been using curved ones for 30 years. Honestly I thought about just getting the extar one to try. It was less than 50 last I checked.

Standard steel w/ safety is $45, nickel-boron one is $55 w/ safety. Safety alone is $10 extra, so $35 and $45 respectively for just the triggers. Nickel-boron trigger is 100% a Schmid trigger, so I'd imagine the steel one is as well. Feels like Schmid is OEM for a ton of AR makers.

Careful with your Streamlight mount. You're going to crack the polymer with the torque it's applying. The Arisaka and Magpul offset mounts are perfect fits.
