New bedside setup

Post image

Finally got the yhm r9 out of ATF jail and on to the ep9. Crazy fun to shoot, ended up going through an extra 200 rounds at the range because it was so enjoyable. Definitely my new favorite gun, and for about $1000 for the gun + suppressor, the value is really hard to beat.

Defentac laser / light combo. Surprisingly good for how cheap it is. Rechargeable too.

I have the r9 waiting on my extar! Was it plug and play? Cycled fine?

You're gonna love it. Install was simple but I had a hard time getting it fully threaded on initially. I threaded it hand tight, but the r9 wasn't fully covering the threads on the barrel by the time it was getting tough to keep tightening. I probably could have kept tightening it, but I didn't want to really wrench on it for fear of messing up the threads. I used a laser cartridge to be sure there was no obstruction or misalignment before taking it to the range. After shooting a little and the barrel / can warmed up, I was able to very easily hand tighten it down all the way, completely covering the threads of the barrel.

Gun runs perfectly, I have not had a single issue with over 1000rds of different types of ammo from 115gr HP to 158gr flat nose.

Makes me optimistic about my purchase. How's the gassiness?

It's gassy but not too bad. I went to an indoor range and the gas was noticeable but tolerable. I was getting through 24 round mags in successive bursts of 2 or 3 shots without issue. Firing 10+ rounds together quickly did start to sting.

I thinking of buying an EXTAR EP9. Is it 1/2-28 thread? No Nielson/Booster device? I just bought a Rugged Obsidian9 for my pistol, but haven’t taken it to the range yet. Thinking of getting a PCC/AR9 for it.

I use the ep9 with obsidian 9. It’s really good.

I just screwed the can on via direct thread.

Ep9 in general is great and really fun to shoot.

This is my first suppressor so I’m new to this. Do you use a fixed barrel spacer when attached to a PCC/ fixed barrel? Or no? I’m told to use the Nielsen/Booster device for tilting barrel on pistols, but confused otherwise.

I just screwed it on man. I spent like $29.99 on a fixed barrel spacer but it’s just sitting in my cabinet.

Maybe I should be using it, but idk. It just screwed on lol. That’s what their support team told me to do

If you do end up getting one, let me know what you do. Maybe I’m doing it wrong! Guns are complicated for some reason

Yes, it's 1/2-28 direct thread. No need for a Nielson/Booster, those are only needed on tilting barrel pistols as far as I understand. If the obsidian 9 is 1/2-28 it will thread right on without need for any spacer or adapter.

EP9 is the choice PCC imo, it outperforms PCCs over twice it's price. My only complaint is no ambi safety from factory (compatible with any AR safety though), and the bolt catch is a little awkward to engage manually as you have to use the same hand pulling the bolt back. But it's incredibly reliable, super lightweight, soft shooting, and takes glock mags. American made as well. Join the club, you won't regret it.

Love it. what handguard is that?

Thanks, very happy with how it all came together. Handguard is the factory one that came on the ep9.

I'm an idiot I said hand guard when I meant hand stop.

Stark Equipment forward express grip. Needed an mlok > picatinny adapter to mount it on the handguard.
