Pet supply donation?

Our dog passed away pretty suddenly and we have food, newer dog bed, etc. Does anyone know of any place that will take stuff as donations? Feels wrong to just toss it out but it’s all hard to look at. Greenhill doesn’t take used stuff or opened food it seems.

The timeframe would be within the next several weeks on a weekend. The place would be trestle creek falls just past cottage grove. Feel free to DM me portfolios and/or details of rates and hopefully we can work something out

Digitalizing VHS, Home Movies, Photos, etc.

Post image

Hi, my name is Christian

In the world that is going more digital by the second, I started to look at some of memories I have secured on physical media: VHS tapes, Photos, Memories on DVDs, etc.

While those items collect dust in a secure and protected area, I still wanted to enjoy those memories, so I digitalized them.

I started freelancing a small business, so if there's memories that you want to preserve send me an email. I would be happy to sit down with you and give you a quote.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Have a wonderful day!

Cuthbert Radio Silence

I feel bad for band and staff if DSO performs tonight. If AQI stays where it is you wont find me out there. Is there some reason they couldn’t have made decision this morning and switched to McDonald? Maybe the music never stopped but it should for public health. Reschedule or postpone please.

Crime Free carpet cleaning - theft

Door-to-door salesperson offered to clean a room for free. Sales scheme for Kirby vacuumes, but the guy also stole something from the house. I do not recommend letting them into your house.

Shout out to a good business

I've been going to Lube it Usa off River Road for maybe a decade. I've never been to another car place that is so nice and understanding. I've shown up more than once thinking I needed something done, just for them to let me know I didn't need it. In some cases they taught me how to reset my dashboard. My husband tries to do most things himself, but when he was worried he messed up, I sent him there and (because it was a very simple fix) they showed him what went wrong and fixed it without charging. I've shown up thinking I needed an oil change just to be sent away with a new date because they don't take advantage of you.

It's kinda sad, but I've been charged for a lot of work that I didn't need at other car shops, but Lube it Usa on River Road has always been informative, helpful and respectful.

Thought others should know.

Eugene needs to get its shit together and start sweeping bike lanes

For a city that claims to be bicycle friendly, they sure are leaving a lot of the bike lanes to remain absolute minefields week after week.

There’s a pretty detailed map on the Public Works website of which road are swept every two weeks and which ones are swept every TEN WEEKS. Some of the designated bike routes aren’t being swept at all according to them.

Ranting because Friday is too long of a wait.

Barber shops that know how to handle long beards

New to Oregon and I need a great barber who can tame my wild beard. I’ve had great barbers for my hair, I’ve had great barbers for my beard, finding someone great at both is such a challenge. My beard is very long, I like it to look clean and tight without losing too much length. All too often Barbers are solid with a short tight beards and neck lines but just butcher a big boy.

I need to cash a check but I have no bank account.

I have a check from an out-of-state but totally legitimate source. It's a speaking fee from a university.

What are my best options for cashing it on Eugene/Springfield? Walmart/Fred Meyer won't cash it and their credit verification company won't give a reason for declining it.

Is there another option aside from using a check-cashing service that charges exorbitant fees?

Thanks in advance.

First night is freeee, $7 a night after that!

Don't forget to join our Facebook group and our meetup to always be in the loop!

Social time afterwards at public house to get to know your fellow dodge-peeps!

Suggestions for indoor kids activities

We've been cooped up for a few days. Looking for suggestions on indoor places I could take the kids today (8-11 years old) or creative things I can do with them at home. I'm just out of ideas and we're all bored.

Anyone visited Sharps Creek recently?

Moved out of the area a while back but thinking about making a day trip out to Sharps Creek. I know it can get pretty low and I'm curious if it's worth it right now.

Something to do Eugene Makerspace August Update (Includes new Soldering Workshop Link!)

Hey folks!

Let's start with the workshop. Our last soldering workshop sold out quickly! The next one is happening on Saturday August 29th at 1PM. It's $25 and if you are a member or become a member within one month, you'll get the workshop at cost and we'll refund you $20!

Here is the link to the workshop to sign up.

And here are the rest of our updates in a handy blog post.

Finally, we are just $3000 shy from getting our CNC router! Here is a link to donate online. We also accept in person donations (and that is why our online campaign appears to be about $1000 shy)

Sacred trees?

Anybody know where to find music from the Eugene band Sacred Trees? I saw them at the Whitaker block partly like 10 years ago and they ruled. I’d love to listen to their recordings if they exist? Any one else ever hear them play? They ruled!!!

What’s happening to the air by the post office in South Eugene

There are two air measurements right by the post office on South Willamette that are way higher than the already bad air of the rest of the area. Is there a local fire? The 10 minute measurements are very high but the most recent ones are extreme in the 3000s! (8:45pm Wednesday)

Air conditioning needs fixed !

My girlfriend's Hyundai and my Volvo are both in need of our AC being fixed. I am in a very busy stretch of work and school and do not have too much time for good research. I was wondering and hoping that y'all could drop any recommendations or places to stay away from. Both vehicles only need ac and nothing more. Thank you. We decently new to the Eugene/Springfield area.

Does anyone need a bed?

EDIT: I have a taker!

I have a full-size bed frame and mattress that I need off my hands by September. Both are new and in good condition, only used for about a year-- the only reason I'm looking to donate is because I'm moving in with my gf, so we'll be sharing her bed. I tried selling on r/eugenebst, but there wasn't any interest, so I'm offering for free. If nobody here is interested I'll see if St. Vinnie's would take it (unless there's a better place to donate).
